Roman Reigns sighed shakily, as he sat on the couch in the hotel room of his close friend and co-worker Sami Zayn. He was alone, Sami had gone to grab some beer, knowing what Roman needed right now was a good friend, beer and to vent. He looked down at his phone in his hands and saw there were no texts or calls from his former best friend...brother and ex-fiancée Dean Ambrose. He put his phone on the coffee table, before he leaned back against the couch and ran his hands over his face. Everything had been perfect between the two of them, until their former best friend...brother and Shield stablemate Seth Rollins; the slimy, two-toned, traitor, douchebag, sellout, managed to come between them with his damn lies! Sighing again, he thought about his life with Dean and that walking pile of garbage, Rollins!
Roman had met Dean years earlier when they were in NXT together, even though they were complete opposites they clicked from the moment they met. They started off as best friends...brothers, but quickly fell in love; it was the first time in Dean's life he had ever been in love. They dated a year, before Dean afraid of hurting Roman broke up with him; not knowing how to be someone's boyfriend, but they remained brothers. A month after their break up they met that two-toned, sellout, scumbag Rollins! He clicked instantly with both men and became best friends...brothers with both Dean and Roman. Not long after the trio became brothers, Dean found love for the second time and it was with Seth! They began dating the first Raw after The Shield's debut in the WWE and Roman pretended he was okay with it for Dean's sake.
Then on June 2nd, 2014, Dean and Roman's world crumbled when Seth betrayed them and joined The Authority; not only ending The Shield, but also Seth and Dean's relationship too! Dean and Roman became closer and together they not only moved on, but they enjoyed ruining Seth and The Authority's plans every chance they got! At the time Dean and Roman weren't officially back together, but they did couple things; including making love. Then one night months ago, after Seth retained his title in a fatal 4-way match; against Dean, Roman and Randy, Seth came to his former brothers and begged them to talk to him. The trio went out for drinks and talked, Seth apologized, both Dean and Roman wanted to believe him, but both were unsure knowing how good of a liar their little brother was!
After drinking for a while, they went back to the hotel to hang out some more, Roman had gotten held up by Hunter, so Dean and Seth went to the room alone. When Roman returned, he found his brothers together half naked on the couch and believing they had slept together he walked out brokenhearted, Dean had gone after him, but lost him. The next night at the arena Roman confronted Seth, telling him to leave Dean alone, but Seth refused and declared war on Roman, the victor winning Dean's love! Dean found them and asked to talk to Roman alone and he agreed. Once alone Dean told Roman it was him he loved and wanted, Roman forgave him and they became a couple.
Even fighting a secret war with Seth for Dean, everything was finally perfect between Dean and Roman! Until months ago after a match The Authority; minus Seth, attacked Roman and seriously injured his shoulder. He had to have surgery on it and was out of action for a few months, leaving Dean alone with their sellout, traitor, little brother! Seth constantly texted and called Roman to torment him and used him being gone to get close to Dean in and out of the ring, Roman trusted Dean though, knowing he'd never hurt him. Being away from each other was hard on both men, but all the phone calls, texts and video calls on their computers helped make it bearable. Dean had flown into town while Roman was still healing and spent two weeks with him, the time alone with Dean had been perfect!
They were so happy and in love, the best part though was that having Dean with him, Roman didn't have to worry about Seth. On their last night together, Dean had set up a romantic dinner for Roman. Afterward, Dean surprised Roman by proposing to him. He, of course, said yes and he secretly sent Seth a text to tell him. Seth didn't believe him, so he lied to Dean and they made a video together talking about their engagement; Dean thought it was for Roman's parents. Roman sent the video to Seth, before he turned off his phone and spent the night celebrating with Dean. The next morning Roman took Dean to the airport and after he left, Roman spent every day busting his ass in rehab, so he could return to work; but more importantly, he could return to Dean!
After working hard, Roman was finally cleared to wrestle, he didn't tell Dean though. He decided to surprise him by just showing up at the arena. When he arrived Dean was in another match with Seth, so he watched it and saw Seth continue his game of flirting with Dean; his touches still too personal in the ring, pissing Dean off. Roman waited in Dean's locker room for him, when he came back he was so upset that he didn't even realize that Roman was there at first; he had even spoken to him about what happened without realizing it. He only clued in seconds later and after greeting each other, Roman told Dean he was cleared to return, before they talked about Dean's match with Seth.
Roman reassured him he wasn't mad or upset over it, knowing it was just more of Rollins' little games. Dean was relieved and went to shower and change. While he did, Roman packed Dean's bag, after he finished he sat to wait, when Seth walked in without knocking, as if he belonged there. Seeing Roman they argued over Dean with Seth still promising to take Dean from him. Roman continued to tell Seth that it was over and Dean was never going to leave him; especially for him! After Seth left, Roman sat on the bench and thought about what Seth had said, knowing that even though Dean loved him and would never hurt him, there was still a very real possibility that Seth could take Dean from him!
Dean found him and knew something was wrong, but Roman lied and Dean bought it and he reassured Roman that he loved and wanted him only, before they left. On their way out Roman decided to push the crap with Seth to the back of his mind. He was back with Dean where he belonged and he wouldn't give Dean up without a fight! Since Roman's return, Seth's crap continued, worse than before! He constantly made up any excuse to be near Dean in and out of the ring, but all it did was piss Dean off more each time! That gave Roman comfort knowing Seth's plans to steal Dean wasn't going to work.
Dean ended up being put on the European tour along with Seth, but of course Roman wasn't and Dean was pissed knowing Seth had done it to screw with them. Days later it was time for Dean to leave for the tour, Roman tried to keep his thoughts positive, believing that Seth had nothing to do with it, but in the back of his mind, he knew Dean was right! Seth would do anything to get Roman out of the way, so it would be easier to try and steal Dean from him! He only lied to keep Dean from freaking out and worrying that Roman was back home upset, while he was miles away. Something else was bothering Roman, even though he knew Seth was behind this, Seth has been quiet, he hasn't bragged or rubbed it into him about being alone with Dean and it worried him. Before Dean left he reassured Roman that it was him he loved and wanted, not Seth and no matter what Seth tried he'd never come between them!
Later that first night, as Roman was at the arena waiting for Raw to start, he was really missing Dean and had talked to him earlier right up until Dean took off. Sami came to his locker room to let him know they were teaming up together against Owens and Jericho. As they talked Seth texted him a picture of himself and Dean sitting together sharing a blanket; Dean was sleeping. At first, it upset Roman, until Sami pointed out that it was fake and that Dean had no idea Seth was taking the picture. He thanked Sami for pointing it out to him and he was able to relax again for a little while. Dean was gone two weeks and Roman talked to him 10 times a day on the phone and computer, he missed him so much; thankfully he had Sami to help keep him calm, especially when Seth would send texts and pictures of himself and Dean. Whenever he talked to Dean he made sure to keep his worries and fears from him, not wanting to upset Dean.
The day Dean returned from the European tour, Roman had been up early; too excited to finally have Dean back, to sleep. Sami had driven him to the airport, they waited together at the gate, a half hour later their plane landed. He couldn't wait to hold him again, it had only been two weeks, but it felt like two months to him! The plane landed and the other passengers got off, as they did Roman and Sami smiling greeted their co-workers and friends. Roman's smile disappeared though when Seth got off the plane, their eyes met and Seth smirked, before he walked past them; purposely bumping shoulders with Roman as he passed him.
Pissed Roman went to say something, but Sami put a hand on his arm stopping him. Just then he heard Dean call his name, he turned around and smiled seeing him, he rushed to him and they met halfway and hugged. After hugging Roman and Sami, they talked for a few seconds, before they got Dean's bags and the three of them got into Sami's car, they drove to the hotel and hung out together for a little while in Roman and Dean's room, before Sami left them alone. As soon as he was gone Roman wasted no time before he started making out with Dean, which led to them making love on the couch. Afterward, they got cleaned up and dressed, before they cuddled together on the couch talking.
Dean told him what happened on the tour, including how Seth managed to get the two of them to room together for the last week of the tour. Hearing that Roman became nervous and asked if anything had happened between them, Dean answered honestly and told him no, but Seth had tried to kiss him the first night they roomed together. He explained how Seth had gotten them a room with only one bed in it, Dean had gone for a shower, when he returned to the room, Seth tried again to get Dean back, before he tried to kiss him. Dean had been furious and told Seth there wasn't a chance in Hell he'd ever leave Roman; especially for him. He told Seth that he loved Roman and warned him to stay away from them, before he went to bed on the couch. Dean was about to swear to him that he didn't cheat, but Roman kissed him, cutting him off, before he told Dean that he believed and trusted him.
Days later, they were at the arena for a show, Dean had gone to talk to Hunter about their match that night, so Roman and Sami went to catering to wait for him. He finally joined them, after greeting them he told them that him and Roman were facing Orton and Rollins tonight. The three of them talked about Rollins for a few minutes, before Sami wished them luck, told them he'd be watching their match, before he left. After he was gone, he noticed Dean seemed distracted, so he asked if he was okay and Dean said he was, he was just thinking about their match. So, wanting to help Dean relax, Roman took him back to their locker room where they made love. During their match later that night, Dean seemed hellbent on beating the crap out of Seth; normally Roman would let him do it, even join in, but there was something more behind Dean's anger and Roman had to keep him under control. Later, after they had won, Dean refused to talk about it, claiming nothing was wrong!
Three days later, Dean was still acting strange, but he refused to talk about it, claiming everything was fine! It was frustrating for him, he just wanted to help Dean, but he couldn't if he wouldn't tell him what was wrong. Days passed and nothing changed, then one night at the arena after Raw, Roman and Sami were waiting for Dean in their locker room, Sami had brought the three of them coffee. As they waited they talked, when Roman accidentally spilled his coffee on himself and the floor. He put the cup in the garbage, before he took off his shirt and began walking to his bag to change.
He wasn't paying attention and slipped in the coffee, Sami caught him, but lost his balance too and they fell onto the couch, Roman landing on top of Sami. Before they could get up though, Dean came into the room, seeing him they got up and he put his stained shirt back on. Suddenly, they both realized what Dean thought was going on and Sami quickly tried to tell him it wasn't. Dean angrily told him to shut up, but Sami tried again, but was cut off by Dean punching him in the face. Upset Roman helped him sit down, before he asked Dean what was going on. Dean angrily demanded to know how long they had been sleeping together, before he began packing his things.
Roman explained what happened, even showed him the coffee stain on his shirt and the puddle on the floor, but Dean was too angry to listen and he broke up with Roman, before he stormed out. Roman broke down crying, he had lost the man he loved because he thought he was cheating on him. Sami held him and promised they'd fix this and get them back together. They went back to the hotel and going into the room he sighed shakily, as he saw that Dean had taken his things and left, seeing that he broke down again. Days after they broke up, Dean won't return any of his calls or texts, he avoids him at work, but worst of all he knows Dean's been rooming with Seth. His heart was completely shattered, unlike Seth, he truly loved Dean and he had wanted to spend the rest of his life with him.
Yesterday, Sami came to his room and told him that he had overheard Seth bragging to Randy, about how he had taken Dean from him by putting the lie that Roman and Sami were sleeping together into Dean's head. So, they decided to make Seth confess what he did and have Dean secretly overhear it, Roman knew it wouldn't be easy, but it was the best they had. Tonight, before Raw, they decided to put their plan into action, but it didn't work out, Seth and Dean had stayed in their locker room. Making things worse, they found out that Sami was going to face Dean in a match tonight and Roman would be facing Seth. Dean won against Sami and Seth had won too against Roman; of course, after their match was over, the rest of The Authority, except Seth, attacked him.
Roman met Sami backstage and he convinced Roman to get checked out by the Trainer, he did and no serious damage had been done. After changing, he told Sami he'd meet him back at the hotel, there was something he needed to do first. After he left, Roman went to the parking lot and after putting his bags into his car, he found Seth's car and waited by it for the little two-toned prick to come out. A few minutes later, Seth came out and Roman confronted him about what he was trying to do. As they argued, Seth told Roman that Dean had kissed him, he refused to believe it, but Seth told him that it really happened, before laughing he got into his car and left. As soon as he was gone, Roman walked to his car and got in, he felt his tears threaten to fall, as Seth's words echoed in his head. Dean had kissed Seth, he knew it was the truth, he felt it in his heart. He leaned his head back against the seat and closed his eyes, as he began to cry. He had lost Dean and pushed him into the arms of the man who had hurt him badly. His phone began ringing, he took it out of his pocket and saw it was Sami calling, needing a friend right now he took a deep breath and answered.
Roman told him what happened and Sami tried to tell him it was a lie, but Roman knew it wasn't. Sami then knowing he shouldn't be alone right now, told him to come to his room to talk and Roman agreed, before they hung up and he put his phone back into his pocket. He sighed shakily, before he wiped his tears away and started his car. He wanted to believe so badly that Sami was right, but he couldn't. Even though nothing had happened between him and Sami, Dean believed he cheated, the one thing that Dean was afraid would happen. Seth was good at playing mind games and knew how to get into Dean's head and that worried him, knowing the damage he could do to him. He'd give anything to have Dean back, but right now the most important thing was finding a way to get Dean away from Seth, before something bad happens to him! Roman drove to the hotel and after dropping his bags off in his own room, he came to Sami's room. After letting him in, they talked about what happened, Sami comforted him as he cried, before Sami suggested they have a couple of beers to take the edge off and Roman agreed. His thoughts were interrupted by Sami returning with beer and pizza.
"Sorry, I took so long, Ro, but I thought I'd grab us dinner too, knowing you probably didn't eat yet." Sami explained, as he sat beside him.
"I didn't, but I'm not really hungry anyway." Roman replied sighing.
"Look, Ro, I get it, I really do." Sami said gently, as he put everything on the coffee table. "But, you have to eat, man, or you'll get sick."
"What I have to do is rip Rollins apart and get Dean back." Roman said bitterly. "I...I can't let that little two-toned shit use and hurt Dean again, dammit!" He added, as he got up and began pacing.
"We'll think of something, Ro, I promise."
"If anything happens to Dean, I'll never forgive myself." Roman said sadly, tears in his eyes.
**Meanwhile With Dean**:
After leaving the arena, Dean walked around town, he needed to clear his head after what happened between him and Seth. He kissed him, Dean didn't know why he had done that, he was feeling so lonely and heartbroken and Seth...Seth said shit he had wanted to hear for so damn long from him after he betrayed them! He didn't know what it meant though, he still loved and wanted Roman, but now he couldn't lie to himself anymore, he was starting to feel things again for Seth too. As if his shit life wasn't already complicated enough, now he was torn between two men who had betrayed him and broken his heart! He stopped walking and realized he was in town, outside a bar, he went to go inside, but stopped remembering that both his brothers didn't like him drinking; it always got him into trouble. As he stood there, he could hear both of them in his head, giving him crap about drinking, which brought a small, sad smile to his face. Sighing, he decided not to go in, so he walked around again, until he found a deserted park and sat down on a bench. Sitting there alone, he began to think about his brothers and what happened between them.
Before he found out the truth, he had never even doubted Roman before, but then a few days ago after talking to Seth, he mentioned how close Sami and Roman were. Hearing that he was torn between believing that they were cheating and not doubting Roman's love. Of course, he realized who it was coming from, the man who threw his brother and boyfriend to the curb for the chance at power and money! The same man who continuously tried to stay at the top of the WWE by throwing his former brothers to the wolves and on more than one occasion, joining in on their takedown! The man who has stopped at nothing to try and win Dean back! Even though Dean knew all of this, he began to wonder if maybe Seth was right? He noticed little things between Roman and Sami that until it was brought to his attention, he had never really thought of before. He had no real proof and Seth hasn't come right out and said that Roman was cheating with Sami, but the thought was there and that was enough to cause him to become restless and unsure.
It also made him question Seth's motives for telling him, he wasn't stupid, he knew that everything he did concerning Dean was to try and win him back. Now though, he wondered if Seth really cared, ever since he told Dean about Roman and Sami, he's backed off and he acted like the Seth he knew back in The Shield; which caused Dean to subconsciously go to him a few days ago when he felt lost. The night he found out Roman had been cheating on him, Seth had spoken to him again, reminding him that even though he ruined them, he'd always be there for him, before he walked away. That right there was why Dean didn't know what to do anymore, he hated that Rollins had managed to worm his way back into his head. He had returned to his locker room and found Roman and Sami together, they tried giving him some bullshit excuse, denying they were together. Unable to be around them anymore he had broken up with Roman and stormed out.
He was so hurt and betrayed, he never thought Roman would do that to him. Not wanting to be alone, he quickly went to Seth's locker room and knocked, as he fought back his tears. Seconds later Seth answered, seeing him Dean couldn't hold back his tears any longer. Seth took him in his arms and held him tight, as they went inside, shutting the door behind them. After a few minutes, Dean stopped crying and told Seth what happened. After talking for a few minutes, Seth offered Dean to stay with him for a while, promising to behave himself and Dean agreed. So, they left the arena and went back to the hotel, they both packed up Dean's things and took them to Seth's room.
They then took turns showering and after they were both changed, Seth gave Dean the bed and made himself a bed on the couch. Seth came back into the bedroom area to check on him and say goodnight, Seth found him on the bed, curled up on his side, under the blankets, crying silently. Seth sat on the edge of the bed and began to play with Dean's hair gently, Dean stopped crying after a few minutes, Seth covered him up and stood to leave. Dean stopped him and asked him to stay, he didn't want to be alone and Seth agreed. He turned out the lights, got into bed, crawled under the covers and Dean turned to face him, cuddling into him; laying his head on Seth's chest, Dean fell asleep a few minutes later.
Days after it happened he's ignored all of Roman's calls and texts, he's avoided him at work by staying in Seth's locker room, knowing he'd never come there to talk to him and he's been rooming with him too. He was grateful that he's kept his promise and hasn't tried to do anything to try and get him back. He's been a good friend and honestly, he didn't think he would have made it this far without his support. His heart was completely shattered, Roman had been cheating on him, the one person he loved and trusted had betrayed him and it hurt more than when Seth turned on them. Tonight, Seth told him that he talked to Hunter and got him a match against Sami. At first, Dean was shocked, but after hearing that Seth had only done it to be a good friend; knowing how much Dean wanted to get his hands on the prick, he calmed down and thanked him. He then asked who Seth was fighting and at first, he wouldn't tell him, but Dean knew it was Roman. As angry and hurt as he was with Roman, he still didn't want him hurt and made Seth promise he wouldn't hurt him and Seth agreed, before they hugged.
Later it was time for Dean's match and he couldn't wait to get his hands on Sami. The whole match Dean beat the crap out of him and won, he went back to the locker room to see Seth, but he wasn't there and he didn't see him before his match with Roman. So, Dean watched the match and hoped Seth kept his promise, of course, Seth won and Dean had been relieved, until as Seth got out of the ring, the rest of The Authority ran to the ring and attacked Roman. Angry he went back to the locker room to wait for Seth, as he waited for him, he began to change out of his ring gear.
He was almost finished, when Seth returned, as soon as he saw him, Dean angrily put his shirt on and confronted him about the attack. Seth then reminded him that he didn't do anything and he can't control what the rest of The Authority does. Knowing he was right, he sat down and apologized, Seth sat beside him and they talked. He tried to make Dean see that things will get better, but he was too heartbroken to see it. He told Seth how he felt; how much it destroyed him when Seth left, how after the betrayal he refused to be hurt again so he closed off his heart. He then told him how despite all of that Roman never left his side and made him believe in love again. Of course, he had been an idiot to believe he deserved to love and be loved, maybe he wasn't worthy of being loved; after all, everyone he loves ends up leaving him brokenhearted and alone! He cried silently, as Seth spoke, holding Dean's face so he'd look at him. He apologized for hurting him, telling him he still loved him, he never stopped and it's everyone else; including himself and Roman, who don't deserve to be loved by Dean!
He then told Dean that none of what happened between them was his fault and it kills him to hear Dean blame himself. At that moment, Dean felt loved and wanted and before he could stop himself, he kissed Seth! It only lasted a few seconds, before he quickly pulled away and put space between them. He apologized, saying he shouldn't have done that, Seth then told him it was okay and it didn't have to mean anything if Dean didn't want it to. Dean was so confused and not knowing what else to do, he grabbed his bag and left. He had walked around trying to figure out what he wanted, but couldn't. How do you choose between the two men who betrayed and broke you? Sighing shakily he wiped his tears away, when suddenly he heard someone call out to him, he turned to the right and saw Paige walking towards him smiling.
"Hey, Deano!" She greeted him, before she moved his bag over and sat down beside him.
"Hey, Paige." Dean replied sighing, not in the mood to talk to anyone right now.
"I was on my way to grab some dinner, when I saw you sitting here by yourself. You looked so...alone, so I thought I'd check on you."
"I'm fine thanks, you can go now." Dean said annoyed, as he ran his hands over his face.
"Oh yeah, dude, crying alone in a park at night is what every person who's fine does!" She said sarcastically, he looked at her angrily. "Look, Dean, it's obvious you're hurting and it's obvious it's because of Reigns and Rollins."
"Wait, you...you know about that?" Dean asked shocked, as he looked at her again. "About..."
"You're little love triangle war?" She asked, cutting him off, he nodded. "Yeah, sweetie, everyone does." She added gently.
"Great, now everyone knows how screwed up my life is!" Dean said upset, as he ran his hands over his face again. "This night just keeps getting better!"
"Honestly, we've known all along, I mean neither of them have been subtle about their war over you." She explained gently.
"Yeah, well, if it's their war, why am I the one with the broken damn heart and screwed up head?" Dean asked bitterly.
"I know I don't know you very well, but I'm a great listener and I have been known to give good advice now and then. So, why don't we go back to my room and talk? It might make you feel better."
"Why are you doing this?" Dean asked quietly.
"Believe it or not, but I do like you, Ambrose, and you look like you could really use a friend right now, I know I'm not Reigns or Rollins, but I'd like to help if I can." She answered smiling.
"I really could, thanks, kid." Dean replied smiling sadly.
"Great, let's go then." She said, as she stood holding out her hand to him.
"Alright." Dean agreed, as he stood, grabbed his bag and took her hand.
**The Next Day**:
Seth finished getting his stuff ready to go to the arena, he left the bedroom area of his hotel room and went into the main part. He sat down on the couch and picked his phone up off the coffee table, checking to see if there were any calls or texts from Dean. He started to worry again when he saw there weren't any, he hasn't seen or spoken to him since he took off last night after their kiss and he was worried knowing Dean was in a bad place mentally right now. He had spent all night and most of the day today, debating whether or not he should call or text Roman to see if Dean was with him or if he had heard from him; even though he hated the Samoan asshole, he needed to know if Dean was okay! He checked the time and realized that it was almost time for Raw, so he got up, put his phone in his pocket and grabbed his stuff. He left the hotel and went to his car, he couldn't stop worrying about Dean and hoped that he'd show up at the arena. He put his stuff in the trunk and got into his car, he then turned it on and pulled out of the parking lot. As he drove to the arena, he thought about the man he loved and what happened between them.
He refused to give up and let Roman win, he loved Dean and no one was good enough to be with Dean, but him! Roman was weak and pathetic, he didn't deserve someone as perfect as Dean! Roman could never make him happy or satisfy him, like Seth could; there was nothing he wouldn't do for Dean! He just needed to remind Dean of that and all that would take was one kiss and then he'd be begging Seth to take him back! The problem was though, how was he going to get Dean to kiss him? Nothing had worked while they were alone on tour, so maybe he needed to change his strategy? He needed to cause problems between Dean and the Samoan idiot, but how? Suddenly the idea hit him, he was going to make it look like Roman was cheating on Dean and he already knew who he was going to use...Sami! And when they broke up he'd be the one to help Dean heal and when he had him back he was never letting him go again!
Days after they returned from the European tour, Seth had put his plan into action. One night at the arena before a show, he had caught up with Dean alone as he was on his way to meet up with Roman and Sami at catering and talked to him for a few minutes. He told Dean that he had seen Roman and Sami acting a little too friendly, making it seem like there was something going on between them, before he walked away. He wandered around backstage for a while, until he saw Dean and Roman; Reigns didn't see him, but Dean did and their eyes met for a few seconds, before Roman led Dean away. Seth smiled proudly to himself, as he turned and walked to his locker room.
He had seen the look in Dean's eyes, he had seen the doubts hidden in them and knew his plan was working! He honestly didn't think it would have happened so quickly, but he was extremely happy it did, that meant Dean would be his again sooner; he just wished there had been another way to do this without his Deano getting hurt. He couldn't wait to rub it in Reigns' face though that Dean was back with him, where he belonged! Dean would be his again and Roman would be the one left all alone this time! Soon that son-of-a-bitch would be the one left with nothing, but a broken damn heart, while Seth had a second chance with the man he loved! Days after he started his little plan he purposely kept away from Dean so his lies could take root.
Days ago, Dean had surprised him by coming to his locker room alone, he let him in and seeing the way Dean was acting he knew his plan had worked, Dean was almost his! He was upset and went to leave, but Seth stopped him, telling him that obviously something was bothering him and he needed a friend to talk to, that's why he came there. Dean was quick to tell him he wasn't his friend and Seth told him he'd like to be though. He then told Dean that he knows he screwed up, but he still loves him and wants to be his friend at least. Dean left to go find Roman, after he left Seth was angry, he didn't realize just how strong that asshole's hold over Dean was! Despite that little setback, he still couldn't believe how easy it had been for him to plant the seeds of deception, but he was beyond happy it had worked. The plan had worked perfectly, now he just needed to push his gorgeous Lunatic further over the edge by making sure Dean catches the Samoan idiot and Zayn in a compromising position and then Dean was as good as his; who better to mend your broken heart, then the man who knew you better than you knew yourself?
Then a week ago, Seth was walking around backstage after Raw and ran into Dean. They talked for a few seconds, with Seth telling him that even though he ruined them, he'll always be here for him, that will never change. He left and went to his locker room, a while later, someone knocked on his door, he opened it to find Dean standing there with his bag. Seeing him Dean began to cry, so Seth took him in his arms, before they went into the room. After Dean calmed down, he told Seth what happened and he had to stop himself from smiling, realizing that everything had worked out exactly like he wanted, without him having to do anything really! They talked for a few minutes, before Seth offered Dean to stay with him for a while; promising to behave, and Dean agreed. They left the arena and went to the hotel, they packed Dean's things and moved him into Seth's room.
After they both had showered, Seth gave Dean the bed and made himself one on the couch. He went to check on Dean and found him crying, so he comforted him, a few minutes later he went to leave, but Dean stopped him and asked him to stay. He agreed and once he was in bed, Dean turned over and laid his head on Seth's chest. Minutes later Dean had fallen asleep and Seth smiled to himself, he had won Dean back; he might not have been completely responsible for it, that was all on the Samoan idiot, but it didn't change anything! Dean had broken up with Reigns and came to him for comfort and support! He had Dean back and there wasn't a damn thing Roman could do about it!
Days after it happened Dean's been a mess, Seth has been there for him through it all, as a friend. He knew that to win Dean back completely, he needed to let things go slow and let Dean be the one who makes the first move.
Yesterday, at the arena wanting to show Dean he cared about him and knowing how much Dean wanted to get his hands on Sami, he talked to Hunter and set the match up for him; he also got himself a match that night against Roman. He told Dean about it and at first, he was shocked, but Seth managed to calm him down and he even thanked Seth for what he did for him. Dean then asked who he was facing and after not being able to get out of it, he told him it was Roman. Dean then made him promise not to hurt him and Seth agreed. Later while Dean was having his match, Seth watched it with Hunter in The Authority's locker room. As he did he told Hunter about his promise to Dean, but he never said anything about the rest of The Authority doing anything and Hunter promised they'd take care of Roman!
Later after he had beaten Roman in their match, he got out of the ring and headed up the ramp and as he did, just as they discussed, The Authority attacked Roman. He knew Dean would question him about it and he'd be angry, but he knew how to get out of it. When he got back to the locker room he went inside and found Dean changing out of his ring gear, he had his shirt off, his back to the door and Seth couldn't take his eyes off him. Suddenly, Dean angrily confronted him about what happened and Seth reminded him that he kept his promise, but had no control over The Authority. They talked and Dean opened up to him about how much Seth had hurt him when he left, how Roman made him believe in love again, all of that hurt Seth deeply to hear, but what tore him apart was hearing Dean say he was unworthy of love. So, Seth spoke trying to show him how incredible he really was and that he still loved him. Seth meant every word he said to Dean, he might have done and said a lot of things that make him a horrible person, but the one thing that he's never lied about was his love for Dean. Without saying anything, Dean kissed him, it surprised him at first, but he quickly came back to his senses and kissed him back. A few seconds later Dean pulled away and stood, putting distance between them.
After Dean pulled away, he apologized saying he shouldn't have done that, so Seth told him it was okay and it didn't have to mean anything if he didn't want it to. Dean then told him he needed to clear his head, before he left the locker room, after he left, Seth changed out of his ring gear and packed his bag, he couldn't stop smiling. He was one step closer to having Dean back, he knew kissing him would help, but he wasn't expecting Dean to be the one who kissed him first! Grabbing his bag, he left the locker room and then the arena, he went to his car, but stopped walking when he saw Roman leaning against his car waiting for him. They argued over Dean, before smiling, Seth told him that Dean had kissed him, of course, he didn't believe him, but Seth told him it was true.
He then got into his car and drove away, at the hotel Seth realized Dean still wasn't there and he tried calling and texting him, but got no answer. He was a little worried, but figured he just needed space after what happened. As time went by and there was still no sign of or word from Dean, he became worried that something bad had happened to him. He must have fallen asleep at some point, because he woke up this morning on the couch. He had spent all day worrying, calling and texting Dean with no answer and he was so worried about him. His thoughts were interrupted by him arriving at the arena, after parking, he quickly got out, grabbed his bags and rushed inside to his locker room, hoping to find Dean there waiting for him.
"Dean?" Seth called out, as he quickly went into the room and shut the door behind him. "Dean, are you in here?" He called out again, as he put his stuff down and checked the entire room, but found it empty.
Unable to take it any longer, Seth left the room and went looking for Roman; as much as he hated him and the fact that Dean might be with him, he had to know, he needed to make sure Dean was okay! Finally, 10 minutes later, Seth found Roman talking to Sami, but Dean wasn't with him.
"What the hell do you want, Rollins? Come to rub it in my face some more about you and Dean being together?" Roman demanded angrily, as he crossed his arms.
"Trust me, I wouldn't be talking to your dumb ass if it wasn't important!" Seth said angrily. "It's about Dean!"
"What about him?" Roman asked nervously.
"After he kissed me yesterday, he said he needed to go for a walk and think. He never came back to the hotel last night and he isn't answering any of my calls or texts!" Seth explained scared.
"You...you lost him?" Roman asked upset.
"I didn't lose him, dammit!" Seth answered frustrated.
"If anything happens to him, Rollins, I'm going to cripple you!" Roman threatened, as he grabbed Seth by the front of his shirt. "How do you lose him?"
"No one lost me, I'm right here." Dean's voice spoke from behind them, causing all three men to turn around to face him.
Both men went to hug him at the same time, but Seth got to him first and seeing Dean hug him back, made Roman freeze, his heart breaking at the sight. He backed up and felt Sami put a hand on his arm and squeeze it gently, before the hug ended.
"Can...can I talk to you, Seth?" Dean asked.
"Sure."
"Alone!" Dean said bitterly, as he looked at Roman angrily, before he looked back at Seth.
"Sure, D, let's go to our locker room." Seth replied smiling, before he looked at Roman still smiling.
After leaving Roman, they went back to their locker room, going inside, Seth shut the door and Dean began to pace.
"I'm sorry I made you worry, I should have called or texted you, but I needed time to think."
"It's okay, D, I understand. I'm just glad you're okay." Seth replied smiling.
"I'm far from okay, Seth, I mean physically I' am, but mentally and emotionally...I'm completely screwed up!"
"Dean, I know you were upset yesterday and things happen in the heat of the moment that we don't necessarily mean. So, like I said, the kiss doesn't have to mean anything if you don't want it to." Seth said gently.
"That's why I'm so confused! Dammit, Seth, I hate you so much for what your selfish ass did to me and I hate Roman just as much for breaking my damn heart, but...I can't stop loving him though." Dean said sadly.
"Oh, I...I understand, Dean, I..."
"Or you!" Dean said, cutting him off.
"Wait, what?" Seth asked confused, but happy.
"I...I still love you too, Seth." Dean replied sighing. "For so damn long after you left, I was able to hide it behind my anger, but then your stupid ass had to tell me all that stuff yesterday and I...I can't hide it anymore. After I kissed you, I knew I was screwed, so I went for a walk and I ended up running into Paige. We went to her room and talked all night, she helped me realize that I need to stop running and follow my heart." Dean explained sighing. "Look, right now I...I don't know what I want and I need some time to figure it out, but I'm not saying no to a future with either of you...I just need time to figure my head out."
"If that's all you can give us right now...I'll take it. I'll give you as much time and space as you need and I'll be right here waiting. I love you, Dean and I'll wait forever for you." Seth said smiling, before he hugged him.
As they hugged, Dean pulled away enough that he could look at Seth and again, without thinking, he kissed Seth. Neither man knew that Roman had seen and heard everything; he had followed them to the locker room needing to try and talk to Dean, and when Seth shut the door it hadn't shut all the way. Seeing and hearing what happened broke Roman's heart, that used to be him and now Seth had Dean's love again! He turned and left with tears in his eyes and headed back to Sami, who was waiting for him in his locker room.
Meanwhile, after kissing Seth, he pulled away feeling like shit for doing it again when he wasn't even sure what he wanted yet. He went to the bench and sighing sat down, running his hands over his face, Seth sat beside him and took his hand, as he spoke.
"Stop beating yourself up, please, I'm not mad and I don't think you're leading me on. I do believe though, that you're confused and I understand." Seth said gently, as he squeezed his hand.
"We...we should get ready for the show." Dean said quickly, changing the subject, as he stood, suddenly feeling very uncomfortable talking about his feelings.
"After we change, we'll go see whose asses we're going to be kicking tonight in the ring." Seth said smiling, as he stood too, knowing Dean was done talking about them for now.
Dean smiled, as they both began to change into their ring gear in silence. As he changed, he remembered the talk he had had with Paige and sighed. He hadn't found any clarity out of the conversation and he hadn't found the answers he was looking for, but at least he had found the strength to know he did deserve to love and be loved! Now he just needed to figure out who he wanted to be with, Roman or Seth? Thinking about that question only made his heart ache and made him even more confused. He had history with both men; good and bad, he loved them both and both of them had hurt him deeply in different ways!
He knew he'd never be able to think straight if he was around them, so maybe he needed some time off? He could go home and use the time apart to finally figure out what the hell he truly wanted. It wouldn't be easy, he couldn't just turn off his emotions or forget the past he shared with either man. He only hoped that when he did finally choose, he'd make the right decision and he wouldn't be left with a broken heart...again!
