Dean Ambrose; one-third of The Shield, paced the hotel room he shared with his best friend...brother, Shield stablemate and as of today, his ex-boyfriend Roman Reigns. They had come to Hawaii on a shared vacation with their best friend...brother and Shield stablemate Seth Rollins and the trio's co-worker, best friend and as of today, Seth's ex-girlfriend Paige. As he paced he thought about what happened a couple of hours ago, things had been going so great between the four of them, until everything fell apart! He felt like the biggest asshole in the world for what happened, him and Seth never should have played with their hearts and now that Roman and Paige hated them, they had no one to blame, but themselves. He sat down on the couch and leaned back, as he thought about the stupid bet he had made with Seth and how because of it the lives of all four of them are changed forever!
The trio are extremely close; like one person with three heads, they were alike in every way, except one...dating! When it came to dating, Dean and Seth have the same luck and attitude; they're able to get whoever they want to go out with them and it always ends with them sleeping with their dates. Very rarely do they get told no and when they do, they love to tease the hell out of each other over it. Roman loved his brothers, but hated their attitudes towards dating and made sure both knew it; he was an old-fashioned kind of guy when it came to dating.
Weeks ago, Dean and Seth were at catering, waiting for Roman, Dean began teasing Seth about his horrible date he had had the night before. This then led Seth to come up with an idea for them to settle once and for all which one of them was the better man at getting someone to fall for them! He came up with a bet to see which one of them could not only get someone into bed first, but also get the person to fall in love with them first! Of course, Dean refused when he heard they had to get the person to fall in love with them; he didn't do love, never been in love and never wanted too! Seth teased him, until he finally gave in and they agreed on the amount of four hundred dollars. They also agreed to choose each other's targets and to make it easy, they agreed to pick the first and second people that walked through the door; Dean went first picking for Seth.
Paige came in first, both men knew she'd be tough to win over, Dean thought he had the bet won, until the second person walked in...Roman! Dean wasn't sure it was a good idea to bring their brother into it, but agreed again after Seth taunted him into it; Seth would go after Paige and Dean would go after Roman. Dean felt guilty about using Roman, but refused to let Seth win! So, for a week, both men had flirted with them and showed them extra attention. Of course, at first both were suspicious of the new attention, but both Dean and Seth were able to lie and convince them it was all innocent. Then days ago the trio was spending time with Paige in their locker room, before the show, when it was show time Seth walked her to her locker room, leaving Dean alone with Roman. While they were alone Dean asked Roman out on a date, but Roman quickly lied and made up an excuse telling him he couldn't before he left the room. Dean was shocked Roman turned him down, especially after noticing the way Roman has been looking at him and acting differently around him, he refused to give up though he was going to win this bet! Meanwhile, after walking Paige to her locker room Seth asked her out on a date and like Roman, she made up an excuse and turned him down, before going inside leaving him in the hallway. Seth was shocked, but refused to give up, he was going to win this bet.
The next day, Dean returned to their locker room and found Roman alone. Noticing how weird Roman was acting, he asked if he was okay and Roman said he wanted to talk to Dean about his asking him out. At first, Dean didn't want to, but Roman finally told him he'd go out with him. Happy Dean hugged him, but Roman told him there was one condition for their date, but before he could tell Dean what it was Seth and Paige joined them. Finally Roman told him it would be a double date with Seth and Paige. Dean tried to get out of it, but finally agreed and after talking Paige and Roman convinced Dean and Seth to let them plan and pay for the date.
So, days ago after getting dressed in a damn suit and tie; which he hated, he lived in jeans, he met up with Seth and Roman; both in suits and ties too, in the main part of their room. He had forgotten how good Roman looked in a suit. Once they were all ready they left to pick up Paige at her room, on the way he had talked to Roman; practically forgetting Seth was with them. While Seth went to Paige's door, he and Roman went to the elevator and waited. The guilt of what they were doing tried to get to him, but he pushed it away, reminding himself that he wasn't going to let Rollins win the bet!
A few seconds later Paige and Seth joined them; the trio had never seen her in a fancy dress and she wasn't used to seeing them dressed up either. They left and went to the trio's car; Dean sat in the passenger's seat, Roman drove, while Seth and Paige were in the backseat. The drive to the restaurant was hard on Dean because he couldn't stop the guilt from getting to him, as he watched and listened to Roman and Paige talk about the date, hoping Dean and Seth enjoyed themselves. For a few seconds in the car, when he met Seth's eyes, he could have sworn Seth felt like he did, but when Seth looked away it was gone, so Dean pushed the guilt away again. When they arrived at the restaurant they parked and got out, but were stopped by fans, so all four took time talking to them, signing autographs and posing for pictures. Realizing the time, Dean excused himself, went to the restaurant and spoke to the hostess telling her they were there, so she didn't cancel their reservations, he then went back outside to wait for them.
Dinner had been great, after they ate they left and at their car, Roman and Paige told them to make up for dragging Dean and Seth to the fancy restaurant they had planned a surprise for them. They all changed out of their fancy clothes and into regular ones, before they drove to their next destination...a carnival! For the first hour, they stuck together; playing games and eating junk food. After a while they separated; Dean and Roman, Seth and Paige, and had fun the rest of the night.
A month later the bet was still on, causing Dean and Seth to continue feeling guilty about it. Things between both couples were going great; they were practically inseparable. They had been on more dates; separately and double dates, and things were quickly getting serious. Whenever Dean or Seth wanted to call the bet off, before they could, the other one would taunt them and they wouldn't say anything. Then one night Dean was alone with Roman in their hotel room; Seth had gone out with Paige. Dean and Roman had stayed in to watch a movie and order room service. After they ate they were watching a movie, when Roman kissed Dean, which turned into a heated make out session, that was stopped a few minutes later by Roman pulling away. They talked about why they stopped and Roman told him he wasn't ready to make love yet. Dean reassured him he was okay with stopping, he didn't hate him for it and he'd wait until Roman was ready.
Dean then went into the bathroom, after he took care of himself, he cleaned up, as he thought about what just happened. He was shocked that Roman kissed him, but got over it quickly as they began making out. When Roman stopped though, Dean's first thought had been about how frustrated he was not being able to get a release after that hot as Hell make out session! His second thought was how he stood a chance of losing the stupid bet, but when Roman spoke explaining why, Dean suddenly felt sick with guilt and everything else didn't matter to him anymore.
He returned to Roman and they finished their movie, as they did Dean wished that he had never agreed to that damn bet! Stupid Rollins and his stupid bet! How could they do this to two innocent, sweet people? As Dean thought of Roman, he froze as the realization hit him...he was starting to fall for Roman! He shook his head reminding himself that he didn't do love; lust yes, love no! He's never loved anyone before; never even came close, until Roman freaking Reigns! He hoped Seth; the little shit disturber, won the bet, just so he could get rid of this damn guilt! He was going to call the bet off, he knew Seth would never let him live it down, but right now he really didn't give a shit, he was done!
He wanted to end it now, before Roman and Paige got hurt because of them; it was time they thought of someone besides themselves! He felt like the world's biggest asshole for dragging them into his and Seth's twisted game; there was no way either of them wouldn't get hurt if it continued. He had to stop the bet, he couldn't keep doing this to them, they didn't deserve it! Dean was getting strong feelings for Roman and that only added to the guilt of what they were doing to them. He knew that he couldn't keep playing this game no matter how much Seth taunted him for it; he never should have agreed to the stupid bet in the first place! It didn't matter though cause he was going to call it off and they'll never know about it. At least after talking to Seth, his guilt would be gone and he could finally enjoy his new relationship with Roman. He wanted his relationship with Roman to not be based on lies and deceit.
Two weeks ago he had been ready to call the bet off, but when he asked to talk to Seth in private, while they were with Roman and Paige, they asked why and Seth told them they wanted to talk about their surprise for them and they left. Angrily he told Seth that since he got them into this mess, he was going to figure out a surprise for them alone, before he walked away without saying anything about the bet. Days later Seth finally came up with their surprise; the four of them were going to a resort in Hawaii for two weeks, but he had only gotten that far. After telling Dean that, they decided to figure out what they were going to do for their trip on the plane. When Raw was over, they told Roman and Paige; both were very happy and excited about it. They left and got on the plane, once both Roman and Paige were sleeping, Dean and Seth moved to some empty seats and after two hours they managed to plan and book the rest of their trip, before returning to their seats. As Dean sat back down, Roman woke up and talked to Dean, he thanked him for the trip, before he went back to sleep, Dean watched him for a few minutes and then looked at a sleeping Paige and his guilt made his heart ache. Knowing Seth was still awake he sent him a text telling him they needed to talk and surprisingly Seth agreed.
They arrived in Hawaii, went to their hotel and after going to their rooms they went to sleep. The first day, they had spent every minute together doing the usual Tourist stuff, giving Dean and Seth no time to talk like they had planned and Dean was getting frustrated! He planned on finding an excuse...any damn excuse to get Rollins alone for five freaking minutes to talk! Two days later, they all went to the beach together and after having fun swimming, they had a picnic lunch on the sand and talked about what Dean and Seth had planned for the rest of the day. Later that night at dinner, Dean and Seth went to get them all drinks at the bar, while Roman and Paige waited at their table.
While they were getting the drinks Dean told Seth that they needed to talk and he agreed, he then told Seth that they'd talk that night after Roman and Paige were asleep. When they returned to their table, Paige asked what they had planned for the next day, not having anything planned, Roman asked if him and Paige could choose and they agreed. So, Roman suggested they do couple things; Dean and Roman do their own thing, while Seth and Paige do their own thing, they agreed and it was set. They spent the rest of the night together hanging out, drinking and dancing, before they returned to their rooms exhausted, Dean ended up falling asleep, instead of meeting with Seth to talk.
This morning, Dean woke up and found Roman gone, realizing it was morning, he checked the time and saw it was 9 AM. Angry with himself for falling asleep, he quickly texted Seth, he needed to talk to him before his day alone with Roman or he'd never make it through. Unfortunately, Seth and Paige were already gone, so Seth suggested they talk before dinner and Dean agreed, before he ended their conversation. He erased the messages and put his phone back on the nightstand, he then got out of bed, grabbed his stuff for a shower and left the bedroom area. As he went into the main part of the room, Roman returned, smiling they greeted each other, before Dean asked where he had been and he told him that he had gone to book things for their romantic day. They then talked for a few more seconds, before Dean went into the bathroom for his shower.
Once alone he closed his eyes, as he took a deep breath, trying to calm his racing heart and nerves. He had wanted to talk to Seth before being alone with Roman, so he could enjoy the time with his Samoan Superman. Now, he had to fake his way through an entire day, while he tried to keep his damn guilt from consuming him! He had no idea what Seth wanted to talk to him about, he probably wanted to rub it in that he was going to win or some stupid shit like that. It didn't matter though, Dean was going to tell him he was out, he was done with the damn bet and he didn't give a damn what Seth said about it; Roman and Paige deserved better! That was tonight though, now he had to get ready for his special day with Ro...he hoped he was able to make it through...it was going to be a long damn day!
He had managed to make it through breakfast and then the couple's massages, but now that they were on their way to whatever Roman had planned next, Dean could feel his guilt growing and he wasn't sure how much longer he could do this! When they arrived they got out and Dean was surprised to learn that Roman had set it up for them to go horseback riding; Dean had never been on a horse before, hell, he had never really even wanted to and looking at the horses, he wasn't sure he even could. Later that day they returned to the hotel to change for dinner; the day had been perfect, even the horseback riding, they had spent the whole day alone together, doing things that Dean wanted to do.
After arriving at the restaurant, they were taken to their table and sat down. They then ordered their food and when it arrived, they ate, talked and laughed, as they did Dean noticed how nervous Roman seemed to be and he thought it was because Roman had realized he had faked his enjoyment today. So, he pushed all thoughts of the bet from his mind and focused only on Roman, not wanting to ruin their night. Finally, after dessert, they left the restaurant and decided to take a walk along the beach under the moon. They took off their socks and shoes, rolled up their pant legs and hand in hand walked down the beach. Roman leaned against Dean and sighed happily, he was a complete romantic and as they walked along the empty beach, he stopped walking, which caused Dean to as well, they looked at each other smiling, before Roman kissed him.
A few seconds later he pulled away and still holding Dean's hand he spoke and told Dean that he loved him, Dean couldn't breathe, let alone speak to answer Roman and tell him that he loved him too, seeing the smile slowly leave Roman's face he found his voice again. He told Roman he loved him too, before he kissed him, after kissing for a few seconds, they broke apart and went back to their hotel room. They began making out, before Roman whispered in Dean's ear that he was ready to be with him, shocked Dean made sure this was truly something Roman wanted. When he knew it was they made love and for the first time in his life Dean was nervous, he went slow and made sure Roman was okay and happy. Afterward, they lay in bed together, Dean held a sleeping Roman in his arms and the intense guilt he felt made his heart physically ache! For the first time in his entire life, he was in love, real love and he knew that to be able to be happy and free of guilt he had to end the damn bet! So, he carefully untangled himself from Roman and got up; careful not to wake him, he then got dressed and grabbed his phone, before he left the room. Once he was in the hallway, he quickly texted Seth to meet him now in the lobby, before taking the stairs he went down to wait.
When Seth met up with him, they walked to the beach and at the same time they spoke, saying they wanted out of the bet! Dean then explained what happened, how Roman had told him he loved him, before they slept together, Seth then told him he wanted out too for the same reason. After congratulating each other, Seth then brought up how crazy it was that it had started with a stupid bet. Unfortunately, Paige and Roman had overheard and confronted them about it, Dean tried to explain, as he went to take Roman's hand, but Roman pulled away telling him not to touch him. Seth then tried to explain, but Paige angrily told him off. Roman then demanded to know how much the bet was worth and Dean reluctantly told them it was four hundred. Then Paige demanded to know who won and they told them that no one did, they had called it off. Then Roman told them off with tears in his eyes, Dean tried to make them believe that they do love them, before Seth begged them to let them explain. Paige upset then told them off too, before they broke up with them.
Dean and Seth could only watch in silence as they walked away, both of them cried silently. With every step they took away from them, their hearts broke a little more. When they were gone, Dean walked away too before Seth could say anything, he couldn't stand to be around his brother right now, not after what just happened. He was completely heartbroken, he had just lost the man he loved and he had no one to blame, but himself! After leaving Seth, Dean walked around, he was heartbroken and didn't know what to do, a while later he returned to the hotel and realized that Roman had moved his stuff out and was probably now sharing a room with Paige. His thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the door, he got up and answered it to find Seth standing there with his bags.
"Uh, hey, D." Seth greeted him quietly. "Paige kicked me out and moved Roman in."
"Come in." Dean said sighing, as he moved so Seth could go inside, before he shut the door.
"Thanks." Seth replied, as he put his bags down and sat on the couch. "Did Ro, uh, say anything to you?"
"Nope, he was moved out before I got back." Dean answered sighing, as he sat beside him. "Did you talk to Paige?"
"Uh, no." Seth answered sadly. "When I got back to the hotel room my bags were outside the door with a note that told me to go to Hell and room with you."
"Dammit, Seth, we really screwed up!" Dean said upset, as he stood and began pacing. "What the hell were we thinking agreeing to that damn bet?"
"We weren't, that's the problem!" Seth replied sadly. "They couldn't hate us more than we do for what happened."
"The first person my stupid, selfish ass falls in love with and I do this to him!"
"I love Paige and because of what we did she doesn't believe it!" Seth added, tears in his eyes, as he leaned back against the couch. "I...I can't lose her, Dean, not like this!"
Dean sighed, as he sat beside him and they hugged, neither spoke, not knowing what to say.
**The Next Day**:
Seth sighed, he was exhausted, he didn't sleep well the night before, he couldn't stop thinking about what happened and every time he closed his eyes, he saw the heartbroken looks on Paige and Roman's faces. Last night after he had shown up at Dean's room, they had talked most of the night and cried together knowing that they had ruined the best thing that ever happened to them! Early this morning, Paige had texted him to tell them that she and Roman were going back to work today and had booked a flight on a different airline. He felt like such an asshole and the guilt of what they had done tore him apart. He got up off the couch and went out onto the balcony, while Dean was in the shower; he had already showered and changed. He sat down on the chair and sighing shakily he thought about what happened.
He was positive he was going to win the bet, he knew Roman and he knew that unlike everyone else Dean's dated in the past, Roman wasn't going to sleep with him after the first date or say he loved him without waiting awhile; all of which worked in Seth's favor! On the other hand, he also knew Paige wouldn't do either of those things right away either. Unlike Dean though, Seth was so much better when it came to seducing people and that meant he would get Paige to say she loved him and sleep with him before Dean got Roman too and he'd win! The more he thought of the bet though, he began to feel more guilty about dragging Paige and Roman into it. The guilt though wasn't enough for him to call off the bet, Dean would never let him live it down; especially after he had taunted Dean into it in the first place! There was no way he was going to let Dean win, he just wished there was another way to win the bet without Paige and Roman getting hurt! Well, they wouldn't get hurt if they didn't know anything about the bet and neither him or Dean were going to tell them, so that meant it was okay...didn't it?
Two weeks ago all four were hanging out together before Smackdown, when Dean asked to talk to him privately, he agreed and when Roman and Paige asked why, he answered with the first thing that popped into his head and told them it was about the surprise they had for them. After they left, Dean angrily told him that since Seth had gotten them into this mess, he was going to get them out of it too by figuring out their surprise alone, before Dean left without telling him what he had wanted in the first place. A week later, Seth struggled to think of something; it had to be good or Dean would kill him! Unable to think of anything he spied on Roman and Paige to find out what they wanted the most and then he'd use that to come up with their surprise.
After listening for a few minutes he finally had what he needed and went back to their locker room, where he quickly set up the surprise. Dean came in and he told him about getting them two weeks off and booking a trip to Hawaii, but that's as far as he got. Dean was impressed and told Seth they'd figure the rest out together on the plane. After Raw was over they told Roman and Paige about the trip and both were very happy. After leaving and getting on the plane, Roman and Paige fell asleep, so Dean and Seth moved to some empty seats and together they booked the rest of the trip, before returning to their seats. As Seth watched Paige sleep his guilt got to him and he decided to tell Dean that he was calling the bet off, he took out his phone, but before he could do anything he got a text from Dean, telling him they needed to talk. Seth agreed and told him they would the next day, as soon as they could.
They arrived late in Hawaii and went to the resort, after going to their rooms they went to sleep. For the first three days after they arrived, they spent every second together doing Tourist stuff, which meant Seth had had no time to talk to Dean alone yet and he was getting frustrated. He had strong feelings for Paige; he could feel himself falling in love with her, and he didn't want anything to come between them; especially a damn bet! Two days ago, after they spent the entire day together at the beach, they had all gone out to dinner. While Paige and Roman waited at their table, Seth and Dean had gone to get them drinks, as they did they agreed to talk about the bet later that night after both Paige and Roman were sleeping. When they returned to their table, they talked and they agreed to let Roman and Paige decide what they did the next day and they chose to have a romantic couple's day. They had fun together the rest of the night, before they returned to their rooms and Seth ended up falling asleep, instead of meeting with Dean.
Yesterday, he was woken up by Paige kissing him, they then had a delicious breakfast in bed, before they got up and got ready for their day. They left the hotel and as Paige drove to their first stop of the day, Dean texted him and they agreed to talk tonight before dinner. Of course, even though today had been perfect, his guilty conscious wouldn't let him enjoy any of it, he wasn't sure if he could even make it through lunch, let alone the rest of the damn day! Yesterday, was supposed to be fun and romantic, but for him, it was anything, but that! Paige had surprised him by doing everything he had wanted to do; including learning to Salsa dance, and he had faked his way through it all, not wanting to ruin what she had done for him. He felt like such an asshole and the guilt he felt over using Paige and Roman like this was tearing him apart!
After dinner, him and Paige had walked around the island, when suddenly she stopped him and confessed her love for him. At first, he had been too lost in his guilt to be able to say anything back, but he quickly spoke and told her that he loved her too; he loved her so damn much! They then came back to their room and made love, he finally had everything he wanted! All that was left was to put an end to this damn bet, so they could finally be happy.
Later that night, as he held a sleeping Paige, Dean texted him and after reading it, he carefully untangled himself from her and got out of bed. He was glad Dean had texted him, he had been about to do the same damn thing, but Dean beat him to it; he wanted to end the bet now more than ever after what had happened between himself and Paige. After getting dressed, he left the room and took the stairs to the lobby, where he saw Dean waiting for him. After greeting each other they went for a walk on the beach and talked, both wanted out of bet and told each other what happened, before Seth brought up the bet. Suddenly, Paige's angry voice spoke from behind them and they turned to see an angry and hurt Paige and Roman standing there together. They tried to explain, but Paige and Roman were too hurt to let them, after telling Seth and Dean off, they broke up with them, before they left.
Once they were gone, Dean left too, so heartbroken and upset, Seth walked around on the beach for a while. When he returned to his room he found his bags outside in the hall with a note telling him to go to Hell and room with Dean. He grabbed his things and went to Dean's room, he let him in and they talked about what happened, before Seth started crying and Dean held him. After he calmed down, they spent the night on the couch, talking and crying, before they both must have fallen asleep for a couple of hours. When they woke up this morning, Seth saw the text and told Dean, they decided to go back too, so Dean had booked their flight, while Seth showered and changed. His thoughts were interrupted by Dean's angry voice coming from the main part of the room, he sounded like he was on the phone. He got up and went back inside to find Dean pacing the room, as he spoke to someone on the phone; he could only hear Dean's side of the conversation, but whoever he was talking to was yelling at him!
"Dammit, we know that...look, it's none of your damn business!" Dean said angrily. "I understand that, but it's still not your...hello? Did...did she hang up? She did, she hung up on me, that bitch!" He added angrily, as he hung up too and put his phone in his pocket.
"Who was that?" Seth asked.
"That crazy bitch, Alicia Fox!" Dean answered frustrated. "She called to give us shit for hurting Roman and Paige."
"Great, as if we didn't have enough to worry about, now we have to deal with psycho friends too!" Seth said annoyed.
"Come on, let's finish packing, our plane leaves in two hours." Dean said sighing.
Later that day, their plane landed and they got off; the whole flight neither had spoken, both lost in their thoughts about what happened. After getting their bags, they rented a car and drove to the hotel where the rest of the company was; Dean drove them. As they pulled into the parking lot, Seth suddenly felt nervous about seeing Paige and Roman again. He knew he hurt Paige, but he really did love her and wanted her back, but how do you make things right after you betrayed the person you loved?
**Meanwhile With Roman**:
Roman finished changing into his ring gear in The Shield's locker room at the arena before Raw. He had arrived early with Paige to the arena, before his former brothers got there, so he could change without having to see them. He was meeting Paige at catering in a few minutes, but all he wanted to do was go back to bed, hide under the covers and cry. His heart had been broken by the one person he thought would never hurt him. The worst part about it though, was that even though he was angry at him and hurt...he still loved Dean. He ran his hands over his face, before he stood and left the room, as he walked the busy halls, he thought about what happened.
He had agreed to the first date after talking to Paige, but knowing that both Dean and Seth were serial daters neither thought they'd end up having the relationships they had with them now. He knew Paige felt the same way about Seth, that he did about Dean and it was nice to be able to talk to her and get whatever he was thinking off his chest; it made him feel good to be able to do the same for her. Lately though being around Dean, hugging him and holding his hand...actually any kind of body contact; even in the damn ring, made his body act out on its own! When it came to sex Roman wasn't as experienced as either of his brothers, but he wasn't a prude about it either! He just liked to wait until he felt a deeper connection with his partner and usually waited until they had been dating for at least three months before he slept with them. He had been hurt in the past and decided to wait to protect himself. Even though he's known Dean for a few years now and trusted him with his life, he wanted to wait knowing Dean's dating history; he didn't want to be just another notch on Dean's headboard, he wanted more!
Two weeks ago while the four of them were hanging out before Smackdown, Dean asked to speak to Seth privately, confused Roman and Paige asked why and Seth told them it was about the surprise they had for them, so they left. Dean and Seth kept their surprise a secret for days; not even giving them a tiny hint of what it is, so he talked to Paige about what it could be and what they both hoped it would be. Then a week later after Raw was over they finally told them what it was and it was exactly what they wanted! After boarding the plane he fell asleep and so did Paige, he was woken up when Dean returned to his seat from the bathroom. Roman talked to him and thanked him for the trip; telling him that it meant a lot to them that they did this, before he went back to sleep. After arriving in Hawaii, they went to the resort and went to their rooms, where they went to sleep. They spent every minute of the first two days together, having fun, relaxing and doing the usual Tourist stuff; making sure they took lots of pictures and videos and they did a lot of shopping too. Roman was beyond happy, this trip was exactly what they all needed to unwind from work and just concentrate on each other.
Two days ago, they had spent the entire day with Paige and Seth, later they all went to dinner together. While Dean and Seth got them drinks, he waited at their table with Paige. After being unable to stop worrying about Dean and the strange way he's been acting, he asked Paige if she noticed it and if Seth had been acting weird too. She told him she hasn't noticed anything different about Dean and he explained why he was worried; he told her about finding Dean pacing their hotel room the day after they got to Hawaii, lost in his thoughts. He told her how even though Dean had reassured him he was fine, he couldn't stop thinking that something was wrong with Dean that he wasn't telling him. So, he then asked her about Seth and she told him about finding him lost in his thoughts too before they came to dinner. When she asked what was going on, he told her he was just tired. Hearing that, Roman knew something was going on with them and she agreed, but neither knew how to get them to talk about it.
Dean and Seth returned to the table and after talking, they all decided to let Paige and him choose what they do the next day and they chose to have a romantic couple's day. They then enjoyed the rest of their night together, before they went back to their rooms and fell asleep. Yesterday, Roman got up before Dean, he got dressed and left the room to book things for their day. When he returned to the room Dean was up and they talked for a few seconds, before Dean went to get ready. The entire day had gone exactly like he hoped, it had been perfect, they had spent the day alone together doing things Roman knew Dean would like and being alone with Dean made him realize he was in love with him. So, freaking out he texted Paige and told her, he was surprised, but happy to find out that she felt the same way about Seth. They gave each other the courage to go through with not only telling them of their love, but being intimate with them for the first time too! He was scared shitless, but knew he needed to do it, it felt right!
Before dinner, they went back to the hotel to change, he showered first and changed while Dean was in the shower. He was nervous as hell, because tonight was the night he was going to stop being afraid and tell Dean that he loved him! It scared him though, because he knew Dean didn't do love and he was afraid that if he told him he'd ruin everything! When Dean was finished they left and went to the restaurant and had a wonderful, romantic dinner. After dinner, they took a romantic walk along the beach and Roman confessed his love first, before Dean did and they kissed. They went back to the hotel where they made love for the first time, afterward, Roman fell asleep in Dean's arms. He woke up a few minutes later and found Dean gone, after checking the room without finding him, he texted Paige to see if she or Seth had seen or heard from him and learned that Seth was gone too. They decided to go look for their missing boyfriends, so they got dressed and met up in the lobby.
They left the hotel and walked around until they saw them together on the beach talking. As they joined them, they overheard them talking about how they had made a bet to see who could get Roman and Paige to fall in love with them and sleep with them first. Angry and hurt, they confronted them about it, after learning about the bet, they told Dean and Seth off, before they broke up with them and left. They went to Roman's room first and packed his things, before they went to Paige's room and packed Seth's stuff. They then left his things; along with a note for Seth to go to Hell and room with Dean, out in the hall. They then spent the night talking and crying, they were so hurt and angry; they felt betrayed and like fools for falling in love with them. They decided to leave early and booked a flight home on a different airline for the next day.
This morning, they packed and got ready, before they left, in the car as Roman drove, Paige texted Seth to let him know what they were doing. On the plane, she called her best friend Alicia and told her what happened. Roman spent the whole flight thinking about Dean and how he had used him. When they landed they got their bags and rented a car, they drove to the hotel where the rest of the WWE was and got a room together. Alicia showed up at their room and the three of them talked until they had to go to the arena. At the arena, they made plans to meet up at catering, before they went their separate ways to change. His thoughts were interrupted by a voice he'd know anywhere talking, he froze and saw Dean standing outside catering alone, talking on the phone. He didn't see Roman, so he hid around the corner and listened to Dean's side of the conversation.
"Did you find Paige? No, I didn't find, Ro, either. Dammit, Seth, I know that! I need to talk to him, I need to explain everything. Yeah, I will...just keep looking it's almost time for Raw!" Dean said, before he hung up and walked away in the other direction.
After Dean left, Roman came out of hiding, he stood staring at where Dean had just been and felt his heart ache. He was so torn, on one hand, he loved Dean and wanted to believe that he really loved him too. On the other hand though, Dean had made a bet, he had used and lied to him. He sighed shakily, as he wiped his tears away and turned to walk away, but was stopped by Paige calling out to him.
"Here you are, big man, I've been waiting for you."
"Sorry, Paige, I...I got distracted." Roman said, trying to hide the fact that he had been crying.
"Ro, have...have you been crying?" Paige asked gently.
"Yeah, I...I just saw Dean." Roman admitted sighing.
"Did he say something to..."
"No, he didn't even see me, but I saw him." Roman explained sadly, cutting her off. "It's just hard to see him after what happened, you know." He added, as he leaned his back against the wall and ran his hands over his face.
"Yeah, I know exactly what you mean. I...I saw Seth in catering a few minutes ago, but I left before he saw me. It took all of my willpower to not talk to him."
"Dammit, Paige, how the hell are we supposed to move on...to work, if we can't even handle seeing them?" Roman asked frustrated.
"We can do this, Ro, we can't let them see how much they hurt us. They don't deserve our damn tears!" Paige said upset.
"You're right, but it doesn't make it any easier." Roman said quietly, as she hugged him.
"It's going to be okay, Ro...we'll be okay."
"I know, come on, let's go grab something to eat." Roman replied, when the hug ended.
Later the show was almost over, Paige had only left Roman's side to do her match against Sasha and thankfully they didn't run into Dean or Seth again. It was almost time for The Shield's match against The New Day and Roman was nervous. Paige tried to calm him down, but nothing was working, she walked with him to the gorilla holding his hand, as they got there they stopped walking seeing Dean and Seth were already there talking quietly; both looked horrible. Seth saw them first and told Dean, as Roman and Paige took a deep breath and walked towards them.
"Hey." Dean greeted them quietly, as he rubbed the back of his neck with one hand nervously.
"We've got a job to do, so let's just get this over with, alright?" Roman said angrily.
"Can...can we talk to you guys after our match?" Seth asked.
"No, but what you can do is go to Hell!" Roman answered.
"Please!" Dean begged. "We're..."
"Over! There's nothing to talk about, dammit!" Paige added angrily, cutting him off.
"I'll see you in a few minutes." Roman said, before he hugged Paige.
"Good luck, Ro." She replied, before they headed out to the ring.
Even though they tried to act like nothing was going on between them, the trio failed and it was obvious to everyone. All three had trouble concentrating on the match and mistakes happened. Near the end of the match, Dean was the legal man against Kofi, he couldn't stop thinking about what happened before their match. Using his distraction against him, Kofi drop kicked Dean, causing him to fall through the ropes, landing hard on the back of his neck.
Seeing Dean fall and not get up right away scared both his brothers; especially Roman. They rushed to him and Seth helped him up, but he was still feeling the effects of the fall. He got back into the ring before he was counted out and managed to make it to their corner and tagged Roman in, as Kofi tagged in Big E. The Shield won their match, but just barely, after it was over, Seth helped Dean backstage to the Trainer's room. Paige watched as Roman came backstage with them, but didn't go with them to get Dean checked out. She could see the worry in his eyes, she was worried too, but knew how scared Roman was; if it had been Seth she would have felt the exact same way. He stood staring in the direction his brothers had gone, he looked like he was on the verge of tears, so she went to him and took his hand, pulling him into the closest empty room. Once the door was shut, Paige pulled him into a hug, she knew he blamed himself for Dean getting hurt.
"He's going to be okay, Ro." Paige said gently trying to reassure him.
"He could have broken his damn neck because of me, Paige!" Roman said upset, as he pulled away and sat down, wiping away his tears.
"This is not your fault, Ro!" Paige said firmly, as she sat beside him and took his hand. "Injuries are a part of our job, Ro. Things like this happen all the time, it's part of being a wrestler."
"I know, but if he hadn't been distracted because of me and what happened, he would have known where he was and he wouldn't have fallen."
"You don't know that, Ro." Paige said gently, as she laid her head on his shoulder. "Come on, let's go check on him, okay?"
"Okay." Roman agreed sighing, as they stood and left the room.
Meanwhile, Seth stood leaning against the wall in the Trainer's room watching as Dean finished getting checked out. Thankfully, his only injury was a minor concussion, he was told he couldn't wrestle for a week, which annoyed him, but he was grateful it wasn't anything serious. They thanked the Trainer and Seth supported him as they left the room. They had just made it to their locker room, when Roman and Paige joined them.
"Are...are you okay?" Roman asked nervously.
"Uh, yeah." Dean answered. "A minor concussion, a damn headache and I'm out of action for a week, but otherwise I'm okay."
"I told you, Ro." Paige said smiling, as she squeezed his hand.
"You...you were...worried about me?" Dean asked smiling sadly.
"Yeah, but that doesn't change what happened." Roman answered angrily.
"Please talk to us and let us explain!" Seth begged upset.
"Forget it! We said everything we wanted to the night we found out that all we were was just a damn bet to you!" Paige replied angrily.
"You don't understand!" Dean said upset. "We love you and..."
"No, you don't understand! You two hurt and betrayed us, we thought that you loved us, like we love you!" Roman said upset.
"We do, dammit!" Seth stated.
"We made a mistake, just..."
"No, Dean, we made the mistake...the mistake of falling in love with the two of you!" Roman said, cutting him off, before they turned and walked away.
For the second time, Dean and Seth were forced to watch helplessly, as the people they loved walked away from them. They had never screwed up this bad before and had no idea how to fix it...hell, they weren't even sure it could be fixed. They had hurt the people they loved more than their own lives and for that, they'd never forgive themselves!
