"max. come on..max!" mike yelled after his girlfriend as she ran down the hallway away from him.
the rest of lunch was awkward. the party didn't know whether or not to address the skateboard issue.
as soon as the bell rang max stood up abruptly and walked speedily away. mike chased after her, but didn't catch up until they reached her locker.
"max, we need to talk." she slammed her locker shut and rolled her eyes. "about what?"
"us," mike replied, making the redhead stop in her tracks. she turned around on her heels and raised her eyebrows.
"what is that supposed to mean?" she said in a cold voice. mike realized what he'd said.
"no! no no no. not like that. not bad. just, come on," he said, grabbing her wrist and pulling her towards an empty hall.
"no! you're not gonna drag me around like everyone else in this school!" she exclaimed as she pulled her wrist back.
mike's eyes were wide as he looked at his infuriated girlfriend. she rolled her eyes at him again and walked away.
he decided it was best not to run after her. she was upset enough. it'd be best to let her calm down a bit. max was known for her temper.
