lisa wood made her way up the stairs at the side of the stage set up in the gym.
as she tapped on the mic, the music faded and the students gave her their attention.
"i hope everyone is having a magical time tonight at our happily ever after prom!" she squealed enthusiastically.
max turned to jane with her eyes wide and held up jazz hands, mocking lisa's excitement.
"are you ready to crown the prom queen and king?" lisa asked and the gym erupted in cheers from all the students in the room.
"for your senior prom queen!" the girl exclaimed as she tore open an envelope. she pulled out a card and opened it up.
looking into the crowd of students, lisa shouted, "jane hopper! congratulations!"
jane squealed and hugged her boyfriend before making her way up to the stage.
as mr. coleman placed a crown on jane's head, lisa turned back to the mic.
"and for senior prom king!" she ripped open another envelope, and struggled to get the card out.
finally she opened it up, and her eyes widened in surprise. "congratulations, michael wheeler!"
