kimberlee had spent the last two weeks being nurtured by halie, brandon and their mom and now it was last day with the boys before her sisters returned for a few and had to nurture the girl themselves.
"do you guys really have to go home like ya don't wanna stay an extra day?" nick followed the girl around as she hopped around on her crutches collecting her things
"nick a few weeks is not a long time and even better i'll have my cast off since my bone is healing faster than expected" kimberlee turned and looked at the frowning boy shaking her head
"i don't know about y'all but i'm going to kimberlee's tomorrow" austin shrugged finally a easier solution to keeping kimberlee around longer
"you smart! see you tomorrow kimberlee" nick stuck his tongue out at the girl who laughed watching him run away before she hit him with her crutch
kimberlee plopped down on the couch sitting next to edwin who opened his arms so she could lay on his chest, "wow it really felt like you lived with us for a second i really don't see it any other way" edwin pouted coming to realization she was going home
"you're making me feel so bad for leaving i'm gonna cry" kimberlee looked up at the boy with sad eyes while edwin chuckled while holding me
"i'm gonna need you to not cry you crybaby" edwin rubbed her shoulders teasing her in the process
"i'm gonna need you to not tease me thank you" kimberlee nudged the boys head
"what do you need? sorry i was packing your stuff? are you in pain?" brandon came flying into the living room looking at kimberlee frantically
"i need for you to get some rest you've slept four hours a day even when halie and your mom were here just to check on me i'm fine b" kimberlee grabbed onto the boys hand pulling him down to the sofa
brandon nodded and plopped down next to her and before she could get out another word brandon was fast asleep which made her and edwin burst out in laughter, "he's so whipped" zion shook his head walking into the living room with kaia behind him
"so sister i was talking to kaitlin about moving to the states." kaia spoke lowly making kimberlee sit up quickly as the words states and move came out of kaia's mouth
"and she said now that you're nineteen and financially established it's all on you to make the decision since she had to take you at fifteen and she was nineteen" kaia put on a sweet smile as she looked at her older sister who looked shocked
kimberlee looked at her younger sister as if she was insane but quickly remembered it was the same face kaitlin gave her when she broke the news their mom said yes, "um what did mom say?" kimberlee asked curiously hoping kaia would get the same treatment she got
"she said she's fine with it what could go wrong?" kaia shrugged making kimberlee sit forward intertwining her fingers as she stood at the girl
"hm let's see .. a lot!" kimberlee yelled startling brandon a bit before he fell right back to sleep
"look kaitlin said we could go house hunting when she gets home and we'll discuss more from there" kaia explained as she sat on the chair arm to play in a sleeping brandon's hair
"house hunting?" kimberlee looked at kaia confused as to why kaitlin would be house hunting
"oh she didn't tell you? she's moving to new york " kaia nonchalantly drooped the news on kimberlee who didn't have a clue
"she's moving where!" kimberlee yelled waking not only brandon up but edwin who dozed off without her noticing
"what's going on? why are you yelling? who's moving?" brandon asked as he stretched before laying right back in the same spot
"what the hell do you mean new york when was she going to tell me how could she tell you and not me!" kimberlee hopped into the kitchen on her good foot in disbelief at what kaia had just told her
"because there's obviously more to the news than just a move i wasn't even supposed to say that" kaia looked away feeling guilty not realizing kimberlee would react this way
"wait you're moving to new york?" brandon finally sat up looking over at kimberlee who tried to gather her thoughts as she paced back and forth hopping on her good foot
kimberlee groaned walking into zion's open arms, "for fuck sakes why does it feel like stress keeps adding on" she mumbled into his chest as he held her
before anyone else could say anything there was a knock at the door and in walked kaitlin and kayleene with the biggest smile until they seen kimberlee's face of confusion and anger
"okay if you're mad about us not flying back for a broken ankle you're insane" kayleene rolled her eyes at kimberlee who scoffed and looked away to focus her attention on kaitlin
"you're moving to new york?" kimberlee didn't waste any time asking the questions that circled her thoughts while kaitlin looked at kaia with a look of anger
the room fell silent before kimberlee gave the boys a look watching them disappear from the living room one by one, "listen we were going to talk about it today it's just you know timing and all" kaitlin tried to explain but kimberlee didn't want to hear it
"kaitlin how could you not tell me!" kimberlee nearly yelled trying not to get anymore upset than she already was
"it was the plan for a while i just wanted to make sure you would be fine on your own and with kaia" kimberlee looked at kaitlin in anger folding her arms and darting her eyes at her sister
"a while with who?" kimberlee asked before she got her answer
"babe i got the seat up so kimberlee coul- oh" matt came in happily before he realized the level of tension that was taking place in the living room
"kimberlee okay you're being dramatic now" kayleene tried to intervene but kimberlee only ignored her continuing her rant
"kaitlin knows why i feel the way i feel" kimberlee never broke her focus off of kaitlin who let out a deep breath
"kimberlee you've been doing amazing this past year, you're running your own classes, opening your own studio soon come on i trust you why can't you trust yourself" kaitlin walked over to kimberlee grabbing her hands and looking her in her eyes
"i always need somebody kait ian and you pushed me to get back into dancing, matt introduced me to these amazing boys and you're the reason i'm opening this studio if you didn't inspire me i would've never thought about it" kimberlee's eyes began to water as she thought of her sister leaving her on her own
"kimberlee that's all because of you and your talent not any of us" kaitlin smiled trying to fight her own tears
"you're going to be fine i wouldn't leave if i didn't believe in you" kaitlin kissed kimberlee's forehead hugging her sister tightly
"so can we drink tonight while we house hunt online?" kimberlee grinned looking at her sisters
"psh ha!" kayleene let out the laugh making kaitlin mush her before looking back at the girls
"what? don't tell me you're going to start that no drinking rule" kimberlee rolled her eyes at kaitlin who laughed and shook her head no
"uh no uh actually i'm pregnant" kaitlin smiled rubbing her belly leaving kimberlee in shock
the girl looked at matt who looked everywhere to avoid eye contact with kimberlee then back at kaitlin who smiled nervously, "you're pregnant" kimberlee's voice cracked from the tears forming
"oh god" kaia leaned against kayleene who chuckled at kaia's annoyance with her overly emotion siste
"boys! can y'all carry her crybaby ass to the car we gotta goooo" kayleene yelled out to the boys as kimberlee hugged kaitlin and rubbed her belly in excitement
"hurry up and ship that bitch back to toronto" kimberlee muttered loud enough for kaitlin to hear as she stared down kayleene
the boys came flying down the hall one by one as edwin and austin took her bags, brandon swept the girl off her feet carrying her as nick and zion carried all of the other bags because kimberlee, kaia and halie don't know what a spending limit is.
"why were you crying?" brandon looking at kimberlee's stained confused as she smiled
"kaitlin's pregnant" kimberlee said as his eyes went wide
"aw i'm so excited i hope it's a boy so when he grows up we can teach him how to dance and sing you know all that good stuff" brandon thought of all the things he could with kaitlin's son as he grew up
"hm you plan to be around that long arreaga" kimberlee asked as he sat the girl down in the backseat
"as long as i'm breathing burke" he said as he kissed her forehead twice and buckled her up, it was a bittersweet goodbye as they waved to each other until they weren't in sight
and even with him not being next to her kimberlee felt so empty she hated getting attached.
but with brandon it was inevitable.
