After a couple minutes of waiting he finally replied to my text:
Ok good.
Since Hunter is taking me on another one of his surprise dates, I had to ask what the dress code was. Good fucking thing he said casual cause I really wasn't in a dressy mood.
I settled on wearing a black cropped bomber jacket, high waisted jeans and black suede heeled boots. Still cute, but not doing the complete most.
After showering and getting dressed, I called Hunter to see where he was at.
I dialed his number and he picked up immediately. "Hey Hunter, you on your way?" I questioned. My phone was between my ear and shoulder as I put on both my shoes.
"Yeah I'm actually 'bout to pull up now" he chuckled "you finished?" He asked
"Yeah I'm all dressed" I answered back standing up to make sure my feet were properly secured.
"Ok cool cause I'm outside already"
"Alright I'm on my way down" I said hanging up the call. Grabbing my phone and bag, I quickly ran to the bathroom and sprayed some perfume before heading to the door.
"Celine I'm leaving!" I shouted
"Alright be careful! I put pepper spray in your bag just in case!" She yelled back
I can't with this girl
I opened the door and began to head down to Hunter's car. He was casually leaning against the car as he waited for me to reach him.
Once I was in direct view of him, a bright smile took over my face as it did his also.
He was wearing a simple black cotton t-shirt, blue jeans and white high top air forces.
"Well don't you look fine" he said causing my face to heat up immensely. "Hi to you too, Hunter" I said laughing lightly
"Come here" He said biting his lip pulling me closer to him. Leaning down he placed a sweet lingering kiss on my lips before he pulled centimeters away, "Hi" he said softly whispering onto my lips.
I think I'm melting
Hunter's been having this strong effect on me after our first date. His kiss and his touch having me weak in the knees every single time. I definitely falling for him, I know that much.
Fully putting distance between us, Hunter gave me a sincere smile "we should get going now"
"Alrighty then, let's get going" I said after I snapped out of my short trance
Walking to the back passenger side of the car, he opened the door for me. I simply gave him a confused look "how come I'm not sitting up front?" I ask
"My bodyguards driving us. Don't worry I'm gonna be sitting with you" He said as he nudged me to hop in.
After getting situated, Hunter got in beside me and sat down.
"Nadia, this is James my bodyguard" he introduced. James was a pretty big and intimidating looking dude. He looked like he took his job very serious—which was good. He wore all black with shades and an ear piece, he looked like the real deal.
"Hi" I said nervously in which James just nodded his head in acknowledgment.
Good enough for me.
I turned back to Hunter "Where ever place you're taking me, I hope there's food because I'm starving" I said matter of factly
"More like places, plural" he said with smirk "you know how I said I'd take you on a tour of New York?"
I nodded
"Well I'm taking you on that tour right now"
"Isn't it too late for a tour?" I chuckled out
"We are in the city that never sleeps, it's never too late in New York" he laughed out "first things first, we are gonna feed you. Have you ever had New York style pizza?"
"Nope, I haven't"
"I know a place that makes the best by far" he said excitedly "I'm breaking my diet for you again"
"Nah don't use me as your excuse, you know you want pizza" I said laughing
"Wow." His said gaping "You didn't have to expose me in front of James like that" he said faking hurt
I just stared at him and he looked at me, we both burst out laughing.
Once we arrive at Joe's pizza, we all got out of the car. Before stepping out the car, Hunter placed a black baseball cap on his head.
I just looked at him strangely "why the hat?" I questioned pointing to it
"Just tryna be lowkey" he shrugged
"Don't you think the huge bodyguard kinda gives it away?" I laughed. A baseball cap is not a very good disguise— add in a huge bodyguard and you just look sus.
"We are just gonna get in and get out. No one will suspect anything" he said reassuringly
So much for that cause Joe's pizza was packed— with Giants fans.
As Hunter was getting hounded for autographs, I ordered 3 slices of pizza—one for me and two for him. Them shits were huge as hell too.
I watched Hunter in amusement as I sat down at a table eating my pizza with a smile on my face.
Damn he was right, this pizza is amazing!
Hunter looked so distraught as James tried to control the crowd. I finished my pizza real quick, I was really that hungry. After a while, Hunter was able to make an exit out of the restaurant—with the help of James. I followed them both out and hopped back in the car.
Handing Hunter his pizza, I shot him an amused smiled
"Love how with all the chaos going on you just sat and ate while I was getting tortured by fans" he said laughing
"I told you that dumb hat wasn't gonna fool anyone" I laughed as he shook his head
"so where to next?"
"Times square" Hunter said shooting me a smile as he began to eat his pizza
"No ones gonna pay me any mind here that's for sure" he seemed to be right. Times Square was really crowded, people were doing their own thing.
"You might be right" I said as I looked around "gosh this is amazing" I said in awe.
"It is, isn't it" he said with a grin on his face. "When I moved here after being drafted, this was the first place I went to" Hunter said reminiscing "I never thought me, a boy from Georgia, would be living in such a big city. When I got here I just stood in the middle of time square in disbelief that I was even here—it really hit me in that moment that my life was forever changed" he smiled
"How bout we make another memory here with a picture?" I asked uncertain
"Yeah I think we should" his eyes gleaming as he took out his phone. He snapped a few selfies of us, doing different faces—the silly faces he was making causing me to crack up.
After a couple pictures, an older lady walked up to us "you want to me take a picture for you?" She asked kindly
"Oh...uh sure" Hunter said handing her his phone.
"Alright tell me when your ready" the kind lady said
With that Hunter came behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist "we're ready" he said with a smile
My heart was beating fast cause in this moment, I wanted time to stop permanently so I could just be in this moment forever.
The lady snapped a few more pictures and then gave Hunter back him phone.
"Thank you so much" I said to her as Hunter looked through the pictures
"No problem, y'all are beautiful couple" she said with a smile. She then turned to Hunter "you take good care of this young girl alright?"
"Of course" he said as he grabbed my hand smiling down at me
"Well y'all have a good night" she said walking away
"Same to you" I said back. What a nice lady.
"I think this one is gonna be my new wallpaper" he said showing me the picture.
In this photo he was looking down at me while I smiled at the camera— his arms secure around my waist.
"Send me those" I said as he nodded in response. "I say we go explore Times Square" I say with a grin
"Let's go then" he said grabbing my hand in his.
Turns out there's lot to do in Times Square then I originally thought. We hit up Madame Tussaud's, the Ripley's museum, and we even did an escape room—Hunter forced James to join the escape room much to his dismay. We didn't win, but we had a great time—James even cracked a smile.
We were now chillin' in Shake Shack drinking shakes—mine vanilla and while Hunter went with strawberry.
"That was quite a game you had today" I say with a grin
"Don't even remind me" he laughed lightly
"Why? I actually enjoyed myself. It was the best game I've seen in a while." I said laughing "that hail merry almost gave me a heart attack"
"Gave YOU a heart attack? I'm the one who threw it" he said laughing
"I'm proud of you though. It wasn't an easy win, Dallas ain't come to play"
"It should have been an easy game to win though" he emphasized
"Why are you so hard on yourself. You won, be proud! At least you're team won the season opener" I said referring to the dolphins losing by one point in their opener—they weren't playing at home so I wasn't that upset.
"You're literally the first girl I dated who actually understands and watches football you know that?" He says chuckling
"I'm one of a kind" I say with a smirk
"Speaking of dating, you have any crazy ex-boyfriends I should be worried about" he asks going for a sip of his shake
"I'd have to have an ex first" I snorted out
Hunter choked and started coughing "you serious?" He asks hoarsely
"Yeah, I was always focused on school. Too busy to date" I shrugged using the reasoning my Dad embedded in my head
"So like I'm the first guy you went out with?" He asks seriously "you've never been with any other guy?
"As bad as it sounds, yeah" I said shyly. Now that I think of it, it was kind of embarrassing.
Lookin up at the ceiling and clasping his hands together, I heard Hunter say the words "thank you Jesus"
"Hunter!" I said slapping his hands while laughing
"You literally tell me I'm the first you ever dated and you don't expect me to be overjoyed" he asked amused
I just rolled my eyes
"we have one more place to hit up" he said getting up
I was hella confused. It was getting super late and I though this was our last stop if I'm quite honest.
"Come on get up" he said grabbing my hand to pull me up from my seat.
"Alright, alright" I said as I got up
Once we got back in the car, Hunter told James where to go. Turning to me, he reached in his back pocket and pulled out a blindfold.
Not this shit again.
"Hunter-" I said about to protest
Until he shot me a serious look "Do you trust me Babygirl?"
"Yeah" I said nervously
"Then put on this blindfold" pecking my lips quickly, he handed me the blindfold.
We long parked the car, and we were currently walking in somewhere. The whoosh of air conditioning hitting my face the only indication.
Hunter leading me the whole time as we walked. "Can I take this off now?" I questioned
"Not yet" he chuckled
I heard a ding and doors opening so I knew we were entering an elevator of sorts. My thoughts were confirmed after I felt the jolt of the elevator moving. On instinct, I held onto Hunter's arm tightly.
The weird thing was this elevator felt like we were going up forever.
"Why do I feel like this is the longest elevator ride of my life" I laugh out
"Cause it probably is" he said with a hint of amusement in his voice
The elevator finally stopped and we made our way out, Hunter guiding me.
We finally came to a stop, Hunter's arms slide around my waist as he whispered in my ear "you can take off the blindfold now"
When I did I was speechless at what I saw "don't tell me we are-"
"At the top of the Empire State Building? Yes we are actually. We are at its observatory to be exact" he says with a smile
Up here we had the perfect view of New York, everything was so beautiful from up here.
"This is so beautiful" I said out loud as I looked at the view in awe.
"I know"
We stood in silence for a moment just taking in the view.
"Nadia?"
"Mmh" I hummed out
"I know dating me isn't gonna be easy and I told you that. I know there's gonna be shit said in the papers or ShadeRoom about me" he chuckled a little before continuing "I know I'm not gonna always be here cause of my job but what I can promise you is moments like these. Where it feels like it's just us in the world and nothing else matters."
He sighed "what I'm trying to say is..."
At this point my heart was beating a mile a minute, I was almost a little worried he might feel it.
"I want you to be my girlfriend, officially" turning me around to face him "I know it sounds so High school to even say it like that" he laughed causing me to laugh a little with him
"But I'm being genuine, I really like you and I want to see where this goes... if that's okay with you?" He asks
He freaking asks me to be his girlfriend at the top of the Empire State Building with the view of New York behind us.
He really went the extra mile on this one
I pretended to think it over just to let him sweat a little, he was already looking a little pale
Putting him out of his misery I said "Yeah, I'm in" with a bright smile
"Oh thank God" he said before placing an innocent kiss on my lips "you play with me way too much, imma have to whip you into shape" he said with a smirk
"Yes, Daddy" I said sexually just to tease him a little
"Aye don't start nothing" he pointed accusingly at me causing me to burst out laughing.
A/N: instead of two chapters I just did one long chapter. Anyways I'm off on vacation tomorrow, I need to finish packing and shit.
