(3rd Person)
The sounds of combat could be heard clearly from the back garden of (Y/N), his peerage, Rias, Asia and Kalawarner's home. Mira and Ravel against (Y/N) who didn't once go easy on them, Ravel was starting to let exhaustion get to her whereas Mira was closer to (Y/N)... probably because even though Mira was regarded as the weakest piece of Riser's peerage, she saw more combat than Ravel which made her more experienced. Right now (Y/N) was fighting the young blue-haired girl with hand to hand combat considering her usual weapon was far away from them, snapped in half after (Y/N) got fed up of seeing the thing.
(Y/N): You're not putting enough power into the strikes, if you ever hope to awaken your evil energy, you gotta come at me with the intent to kill!
The teenager landed a rather fierce strike to the side of Mira's head that caused her to fly across the garden, Ravel saw this as a chance and attempted to fire a ball of fire, similar to something Riser would do. (Y/N) only frowned before swatting the thing away as if it were nothing but a bug, only to realise that the fireball was a distraction since Ravel was now in his face, she attempted to go for a knee to the gut, only for (Y/N) to suddenly block and grab her knee before tossing her towards Mira who ducked under the incoming body.
Mira then ran towards (Y/N) who awaited his opponent, only for all action to stop when the back door suddenly slid open. All turned to the action and saw the two twins Ile and Nel coming through with two trays in hand, one holding a bunch of glasses of lemonade and the other holding a bunch of snacks ranging from chocolate bars to brownies. (Y/N) couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at seeing them with those trays.
Ile: It's time for a break!
Nel: Burent and Marion worked really hard on the brownies and lemonade! They said to enjoy!
Then almost everyone else from peerage apart from Burent and Marion flooded the garden, each of them chatting away and grabbing their own drink and snack, (Y/N) then grabbed his own drink, but frowned further when he saw two missing devils.
(Y/N): Speaking of those two, where are they?
Shuriya: Well...
Siris: Unfortunately, they're used to staying in the kitchen once they finish cooking food. Riser always said it was for just in case he felt hungry again...
(Y/N): Right, so they've never had any interaction at dinnertime with you girls?
Yubelluna: No, they were always confined to the kitchen, reason why they're always wearing maid outfits.
The (H/C) haired male nodded slightly before looking towards the house, then he placed his glass of lemonade on the outside table. (Y/N) headed inside much to the confusion of the other girls. That was until five minutes later the door reopened to reveal two confused pawns being carried over the shoulders of (Y/N) and then gently set down on the grass.
(Y/N): You girls, stay out here, enjoy each other's company and...
Mihae: But, what about you Lord (Y/N)?
(Y/N): First off, not Lord (Y/N), just (Y/N). I'm sick and tired of king's of peerages being called Lord this, Mistress that, it's just a way of showing how arrogant devils can be. Funny enough the only one I know who doesn't do this is Rias, and that's one of the reasons why she's a part of the list of devils I can tolerate, you can be a part of my peerage, but my number one rule is: do not call me Lord (Y/N), ok?
The girls were genuinely surprised at (Y/N), the one to hate devils not ask for any sort of indication of showing he was superior. Sure, he was not as much of a bastard as Riser, but he was someone who couldn't stand most devils, they'd assume that someone with that kind of mindset would demand to be treated as though he was a Lord.
Ravel: But... what about you?
(Y/N): What do you mean?
Yubelluna: It's natural for the king piece to join their peerage for anytime they eat.
(Y/N): Well, today's all about you girls, spend time with each other. I'm hazarding a guess that Riser only let himself be a part of these dinnertimes so he could let both his mouth and his eyes eat, don't try to force me to eat with you girls, because if you're going to be a part of my peerage, I don't want you to be mindless obedient pieces who can't think for themselves unless their king piece is around, spend the day talking to each other instead of me... for now we barely know one another and I'd like to know you all better when you're feeling comfortable, alright?
With that being said, (Y/N) walked back into the house and sighed in exhaustion, only to see a smiling Rias and Asia standing right in front of him, Kalawarner meanwhile was making herself something in the kitchen.
Rias: Now that, was something a king piece would say, wouldn't you agree Asia?
Asia: Well, I don't know anything about a king piece, but it does sound like what a leader would say.
(Y/N): Don't do that, I'm only being their king because I can sympathise with their stories. I'm no leader, after all, this 'leader' is going to kill every devil alive.
Rias: I've been wondering about that for a while now, after all: 'every' devil includes every kind of underworld resident. That includes half breeds like your peerage and Asia, right?
(Y/N): Well... yeah, obviously...
Rias: So, you're willing to kill Asia, your best friend since childhood just for the sake of a dream?
(Y/N): Stop it, right now, I can tell what you're trying to do and it's not going to work. I already plan to spare a few people, those who I can't hold a grudge against, and Asia's at the top of that list.
Rias: So then... you'd tarnish your dream? Abandon it?
That made (Y/N) just look away with a frown forming on his face, he didn't notice Asia begin to approach him... until he felt arms wrap around him in a tight hug. (Y/N) snapped out of his trance and stared down at the long hair of blonde hugging him tightly.
Asia: It's ok... it's always been your dream to destroy them all and I can understand it. That's why, when it comes down to it, don't hesitate to kill me if it means your dream will come true.
(Y/N): What the hell!? Why would you say that!? Rias! Did you...
Asia: Rias didn't do anything, I'm being one hundred percent serious with you (Y/N). I would do anything to make you happy, and seeing as how I'm a devil myself, that means my death will make it one step closer to your goal being fulfilled. And I'm ok with dying, as long as it's when I'm with you and I know for sure that you can be happy without me.
(Y/N): Asia...
Asia: So... if you have any doubts about your dream coming true just because of me, I'll gladly throw my life away just to make sure your dream comes true (Y/N)!
Instantly, (Y/N) grabbed her arms and gently pushed Asia away. A face of conflict appearing on his face while he shook his head.
(Y/N): Don't you dare say that ever again, when it comes to my dream. It's not as important as my desire to see you happy Asia, if you can't be happy then I'll never be happy either. I don't ever want to hear you say you'd gladly throw your life away for my dream, if it's anyone who'll be sacrificing themselves for someone they care about, it's me. Yes my goal is important to me, but it will never, ever be as important to me as you are, you little blonde saint.
Asia gasped in surprise, looking up at (Y/N) with eyes that sparkled since they were so close to tears. She stared up at the fond smile growing across his features, she couldn't help but start to feel stupid for saying such things after hearing how much (Y/N) cared for her, she quickly wrapped her arms even tighter around him, close to the point of sobbing in happiness for what (Y/N) just said... That was until a redhead devil cleared her throat to break up the moment.
Rias: And me? Come on, I know you care about me as well~.
(Y/N):... Would it help you sleep at night if I told you I only care about you slightly more than the average devil, also known as: you're on my mind, but not as much as Asia.
Rias: Oh? Is that so... in which case!
She suddenly decided to push Asia away, grabbing (Y/N) in a tight hug while making sure his vision was obscured by her massive chest.
Rias: I'll just have to make sure that the only female on your mind is me, and me alone!
Asia: Noo!! I won't let you! E-even if you're my king, I won't let you have (Y/N)!
Just like normal, the two began bickering while the (H/C) haired human merely rolled his eyes at the two, before he felt his phone buzzing. Pulling it out with a curious look, he saw one single text from Issei requesting his presence tomorrow at the very same fountain he lost Asia to Raynare.
(Y/N): What could you possible want, perverted devil bitch?
(Timeskip)
The next day, (Y/N) decided to skip school and come with his usual attire of dark blue tank top, black jacket which used to be a trench coat until Riser burned it down to a jacket, a pair of torn jeans with plenty of holes in them and red and white sneakers. He scoffed at walking into the park, only to see Issei trying to convince someone (Y/N) didn't recognise. He had short blonde hair and grey eyes.
???: No way! I ain't helping you with that! You're nuts!
Just as the blonde began walking away, he was stopped by a familiar white-haired midg- girl, she grabbed him by the collar and dragged him back to where Issei was, just as she was about to speak. (Y/N) finally decided to make his presence known.
(Y/N): Make this worth my time, or you're going straight to my shit list... again.
Issei jumped in surprise while yelping in fear, but quickly calmed down, sighing in relief while clutching his chest and panting from the sudden adrenaline to the sudden relief.
Issei: Alright, we're just waiting on one...
And that's when Kiba appeared, Issei nodded to himself before turning to face basically everyone, a nervous smile on his face when seeing Koneko's emotionless gaze, (Y/N)'s frown/glare and Kiba's confused look/also glare.
Issei: Alright, I brought you all here for one simple reason: we're going to help the two church members, Xenovia and Irina...
As soon as those words were out of his mouth, a bolt of evil energy blasted him right in the chest sending Issei flying into the fountain, his legs sticking upward while smoke produced itself off his chest since the evil energy singed his clothing.
(Y/N): Not just a waste of my time, but a stupid thing to do. Why the hell would I help those two out? For one thing they hate and want to kill devils, which is something I respect, but... they tried to kill Asia, and anyone who touches her is dead to me. So Issei, you've got... oh, I stopped his heart.
???: You did what!?
Kiba: Can you make it pump blood again?
(Y/N): That depends, give me a good reason why I should help those two bitches from yesterday.
Kiba: Well, you don't want me to get consumed by revenge, and the only way to do so is to fight it along with the people I trust.
(Y/N): Give me a better reason.
Koneko: You can get the swords...
Everyone turned their head to face the emotionless Koneko, she stared right at (Y/N) with her arms crossed and her usual stoic expression on her.
Koneko: I can tell when someone's looking for power (Y/N). Yesterday when the excalibur pieces were mentioned your interest spiked, as well as your excitement. I can sense things like that (Y/N). Even if you looked like you couldn't care less for the swords, you want them, you desire their power, we can help you get them, we only ask for your help in return.
???: Wait, this guy wants the swords? Why!? Aren't you a devil?
And just like that, the blonde idiot also got a bolt of evil energy to the chest.
(Y/N): You won't get in my way of getting the swords?
Kiba:... I can't promise anything.
Koneko: Well I can, I can guarantee that you'll get the swords. As for fighting other people off for them, you'll have to figure that out on your own since both Kiba and the church members are seeking to destroy the excalibur pieces. So in short: we can hep you get the swords, but you're on your own should you run into a fight over them later...
(Y/N):.... I guess that's fair enough.
(Y/N)'s hands lit up with evil energy while pointing one palm at the fountain and the other at where the blonde-haired devil Issei brought along, a smirk coming across his features while Kiba nervously watched (Y/N)'s evil energy crackle dangerously.
(Y/N): As the surgeons or doctors say... clear!!!
The park was filled with two loud screams of pain that day...
