Jenny's jaw automatically gapped open at Daemon's words.

Of all the things he could have said, those were the last ones she would have expected him to utter.

Who was it that stole you from me?

He actually said those words.

Jenny blinked repeatedly as she looked up at Daemon, her throat feeling like the Sahara Desert and her heart against her intentions started hammering away against her chest.

Jenny ran her hand back and forth against her chest, rubbing it as an involuntary cough escaped her.

Daemon continued to stare at down at her, taking in her agitated state with a smile.

If anyone was watching them at that moment, then would've thought that Daemon was asking her something so innocuous and not something that would've elicited that much of a reaction out of Jenny.

"Well," Daemon said as Jenny continued to silently watch him with a look that one gave to a rabid dog. "Who is he?"

Jenny shook her hand slightly to bring her out of the reverie that she had slipped into. "Who is who?"

"The guy mom was talking about," Daemon replied as he shifted his footing and straightened up.

"There's no guy," Jenny replied and instantly regretted it. She didn't owe him anything explanation and she didn't even have to answer his questions.

Jenny knew what guy had popped into her head when Mrs Matthews mentioned boy troubles. He was standing right in front of her.

And there was nothing that could make Jenny say that he was the boy that Mrs Matthews had been alluding to.

A dark smirk popped on Daemon's face as he leaned his head down slightly. It wasn't that big of a movement, but close enough to make Jenny wary. "No guy? Really?"

Jenny nodded as she took an involuntary step back.

Daemon leaned down further, only a respectable amount of distance now separated him and Jenny. But to Jenny it felt like too close for her sanity. "So then, you didn't mention anything about me to my mom, about the kiss?"

Jenny's eyes widened at his words before she cast a wary look around to see if anyone might have overheard. Thankfully, no one was paying attention to them, especially Mrs Matthews who had disappeared.

Jenny turned back to face Daemon and a hard look formed on her face. This was the closest they've ever gotten to mentioning that night. The fact that he brought up her mentioning him to his mom made Jenny wish that she hadn't come to the barbecue at all.

If it was up to her, the kiss wouldn't have happened in the first place. But since it had happened and nothing could change the past, the best second to it was not bringing it up ever again.

She thought that Daemon and her had a silent agreement to not bring it up again as though it was a taboo subject,  just long enough before he had to leave for college. She had even gone so far in her plans for the future that she had even calculated her reasons for being absent whenever Daemon was in town during his college breaks.

But here he was bringing it up.

Jenny cleared her throat before leaning in so that it ensure no one would overhear her. "I thought we agreed not to bring up the kiss up again."

An unreadable look crossed Daemon's face. "You're the one who didn't care about that agreement in the first place."

Jenny furrowed her brows together at his words. "What are you talking about?"

"Why were you looking for me as soon as you arrived?" Daemon asked, a smirk crossing his face.

"I wasn't-" Jenny's words got cut off as she remembered asking Juanita where Daemon was. Jenny sighed as she rubbed her face with her hands.

"Did you not think that Juanita would've found it weird that you suddenly started asking for me, especially since we never really talked before?"

Jenny sighed again as she berated herself for not having thought it through before she had done so. She didn't expect that Juanita would read into it that much. "So what happened? Did she..."

Daemon pulled back, returning back to his full height. "Don't worry about it. I told her that I was helping you out with a presentation for school."

Jenny nodded at Daemon even though her attention was solely on how she had almost revealed everything. Jenny knew that she should do better next time.

"Since it looks like we don't have to keep up the charade for my mom anymore, I'm going to go grab some food," Daemon said, breaking into her thoughts.

"Oh," Jenny looked up just as the delicious aroma of barbecue wafted in their direction. "Okay then."

Without another word, Daemon left Jenny and headed for the grill that Mr Archer and Mr Matthews were manning.

Not a second later, Jenny felt someone hug her from behind.

"Santana," Jenny said as soon as she smelled strawberry and kiwi, a mix of Santana's shampoo. Her gaze quivered as she tried to pinpoint when exactly Santana had arrived. Did she overhear Jenny's conversation with Daemon? When had she arrived?

"How long since you got here?" Jenny asked, choosing her words carefully so as to not arouse suspicion.

"I got here about ten minutes ago," Santana replied, squeezing Jenny from behind. "I was going to come say hi, but I had to go talk to Daddy Phil first." Just as Jenny started to feel relieved that she hadn't noticed her and Daemon together, Santana added, "Besides, you had Daemon to talk to."

"Oh," Jenny mumbled.

"So..." Santana leaned into her from behind and breathed into Jenny's ears, "What were you and Daemon talking about?"

"Nothing," Jenny said hastily as she pulled away from Santana and turned around to face her. "We talked about nothing."

"Nothing?" Santana asked as she arched a brow conspiratorially. "I saw you guys leaning in and saying something to each other for a long time."

If it didn't arouse any suspicions, Jenny would've face-palmed herself then and there. "Nothing important, that's what I meant," she adjusted quickly. "We weren't really talking about anything that important. Just..." Jenny thought quickly for an explanation, "he's helping me for a presentation."

Jenny found it ironic that she was using the same explanation that Daemon had given Juanita.

"A presentation?" Santana hooded her brows together. "For what?"

"He's helping me out with the graduation thing. It's a presentation that I've been working on." Jenny bit her lower lip as she continued to utter lies to Santana. She felt bad about it, but right now she couldn't help but do it.

Santana nodded after awhile. "Anyways," she began, "have you seen you brother around? I haven't seen him since I got here. I thought you guys would come together."

Jenny shrugged with a smile on her face. She was relieved that the attention was now off of her and Santana. "He said he was going to get something before he came here. He should be here soon."

As if her words had called him, Jesse called out for them (more for Santana than Jenny) and started running towards them.

"Where have you been?" Santana asked him when he reached them.

Jesse was slightly breathy when he did and held up a finger as he tried to catch his breath. In his hand was a bag.

"What took you so long?" Jenny asked as Jesse stood up and smiled at Santana.

Jesse ignored his twin's question, turning his back to her as he stepped between her and Santana.

Jenny wanted to hit him in the head but if the past couple of months had taught her anything, it was to just let Jesse have his way because she'd rather he focus his attention on Santana than on her, annoying the living days out of her.

"I know that your birthday isn't for a couple more months and that our anniversary is far away, but I got you something," Jesse said and Jenny couldn't help but roll her eyes at her twin's cheesiness. "I actually ordered it a couple weeks ago but it just arrived today and I was running late because I had to go pick it up."

Jesse held the bag in his hand up, offering it to Santana.

Santana's face was was shining with a smile as she looked at Jesse with so much love and adoration. "You didn't have to."

Jesse nodded. "I know." He paused as his eyes graced Santana, before adding, "I wanted to."

Santana took the bag and without waiting she reached in and pulled out its contents.

It was two albums.

One of EXO's album and the other was 5SOS' latest album.

They were both signed and autographed by all the members of both respective groups.

"How?" Santana managed out just as Jenny said, "No, you didn't."

Jesse ignored his sister as his attention was solely on Santana. "I know someone who knows someone who knows someone," he paused, "well, let's just say I know a lot of someone's who managed to get both groups to sign the albums. I was actually planning to give them to you during graduation, but I couldn't wait any longer. I wanted to see that look on your face."

Jenny would've left just to escape the cheesiness that her brother was spewing, but she stayed because she felt betrayed. He knew how much she loved 5SOS and he hadn't even thought to get her an autographed CD too.

After awhile of Santana repeatedly thanking Jesse and Jesse saying something about getting the moon for her, Jenny decided to leave them and walk around. She hadn't even greeted the Peterson's yet.

But just before she could move in their direction, her phone started ringing.

She took it out of her bag and started to head into the house, hoping that she could find somewhere quiet enough to answer it.

Once she did, she looked at the screen.

Glenn.

Jenny pouted in confusion at the phone.

What was he doing calling her on a Saturday?

After taking a deep breath, Jenny answered the phone.

Before she could say hello, Glenn spoke, sounding hysterical.

"She's missing," he said hysterically, his tone higher and his words coming out faster and more incoherent than usual. "I just went to put the rubbish in the bin and I turned around and she disappeared."

Without even knowing what exactly was wrong, Jenny's heart started pounding away with fear. "What happened? Who's missing?"

"Gina," Glenn's voice came out as a soft echo when he replied. "Gina's missing. Can you come and help me look for her please?"

Who was Gina? Jenny wanted to ask but the desperation in Glenn's voice stopped her.

Jenny didn't know whether it was the fear that she could hear and sense in his words or the fact that even though she didn't know what was happening, but she felt like she should, she wanted to help him.

"Where are you?"

Glenn said the name of a park that was just five minutes drive away from the Matthews place.

"I'll be there soon," Jenny said.

"Please hurry," Glenn replied and his words sounded so helpless.
