"Good morning!" I beamed to my family
"Someone's in a good mood today." Ty grabbed a toast and placed it to his mouth
I am in a good mood today. They broke up yesterday. Janelle and Chris. So I am happy.
"Have you eaten breakfast yet??" I sang
"Still eating." He gave a concerned look on his face
"Why're you looking at me like that?" I asked
"Are you sick?" He asked with his brows furrowed
"I am not but-Just a minute, I'm gonna look who texted." I brought out my cell from the pocket of my shorts
It was from Chris
Crawf's sick.
"But Crawf is. I have to go brother. I love you." Did I just said I love you? Creepy.
I rushed out of our house with my wallet and phone. I didn't bother to change my clothes. I was concerned for the dude.
I got in a cab and told the driver to step on it. Though it's just a few blocks away.
As soon as I got there I asked "Where is Crawf?" to Chris
"Upstairs." He said plainly
I ran upstairs and went straight to his room. The curtains were closed but the windows were open.
"Hhhaaaacchhhu!!!" Crawf sneezed
"God. What happened to you?" I ran beside him and sat at the side of his bed
"No worries. Just some fever." I touched him and he was hot. Burning hot.
"You have some medicines?" I asked
"I didn't want to take any. Rest is enough. You should go, you'll catch my cold." He said and sneezed again.
"I'll buy. You wait." I ignored what he said and stood up. I ran downstairs and to the front door.
"Where are you going?" Chris asked from behind
"I'm going to a drug store." I said
"You coming pretty boy?" I asked
"Yeah.." We went straight to his car
I missed this car..But I smell something different "What is that smell?"
"You mean Janelle's perfume?" He asked, eyes on the road.
"Oh that explains why." I muttered
"So you two broke up?" Though it was suppose to be none of my business my tongue wasn't able to hold back.
"Not yet but she slapped me in the face for Christ's sake." He whined
"Who wouldn't?" I joked but I was still disappointed.
"You wouldn't.." He pulled up infront of a drug store.
I bought some medicines for Crawf and we hit the road again.
"If I were in Crawf's place. Would you do the same?" He asked breaking the silence.
I kept silent.
"Ashley. Please. Just answer the question." He pleaded
"Yes. I would do the same." I smiled at him
"Why?" He asked
"Because you are my friend. I guess. We're friends right?" I asked
"Yeah. We are. And I hope it doesn't end there." He smiled sadly after pulling up infront of their house
"I hope it doesn't." I opened the door of the car before I say something stupid again.
"Hey Ashley!" He called. I turned slowly "What?"
"You forgot the medicines." He showed it to my face.
Damn this memory.
I snatched it from his hand and went to Crawf's room
"I'm back." I said.
"Glad you are." He smiled weakly.
"Here. Take your medicine first." I helped him sit up straight.
"Thanks." He said
After letting him take his med, I let him rest again.
"I'll be here when you need me." I tapped his arm but I'm starving..
"Have you eaten lunch?" I looked behind me and Chris was leaning on the door.
"Not yet." Then my tummy grumbled.
"Go." Crawf said and smiled
"Okay. I'll be back soon." I returned the smile and went downstairs.
"There's pizza at the counter. Help yourself up." He said
"Thank you." I attacked the pizza until I realized I ate all of them. Come to think of it, I didn't have breakfast.
"Why haven't you broke up with Janelle.?" I wasn't able to hold back again
"Why do you care?" He smirked
"Because friends care for each other." I rolled my eyes.
"She said that I should give her a chance in one week. It can't hurt." He shrugged
"And if it doesn't work?" I asked
"Then we're over. I'm gonna go for another girl." He winked
"You always go for another girl." I said
"This time. She's not just some girl. And I won't stop until I get her from her boyfriend." He leaned to me and stared at my lips. And then he brought out his handkerchief and he wiped something at my lower lip. That was embarrasing.
"I-I have to go." My face is red like tomato and my body's temparature is rising. I rushed to Crawf's room and wiped a sweat from my forehead.
"You're back." Crawf muttered
"Yeah I am. You should sleep." I suggested
"I was asleep, I just heard your footsteps so I woke up." He smiled
"Then continue sleeping." I smiled back. I tapped him slowly until he drifted to sleep.
I stared at his face for a long time until my phone vibrated
It's from Chris

After that, he didn't reply. I kinda got sad.
I drifted into sleep after sometime.

Chris's POV
I went upstairs to check on my brother and Ashley.
When I got there, they were both asleep. Ashley was holding Crawf's hand.
I came closer to them. I reached for a chair and placed it beside Ashley and I sat down. I stared at her for a few minutes. Cherishing the moment. Admiring how beautiful she is even when sleeping.
I removed the hand of Ashley from Crawf annoyingly and I intertwined my fingers to her. It fits perfectly.
The truth? They make a good couple. But for me, we make a better couple.
When Ashley moved a little, I let her hand go. I patted her head lightly and I kissed her forehead.
"I'll get you back."
