"So, anything on Loki yet?" Rayuno called as he approached his lover.

"He's recently taken ill," Sakura sighed. "But I'm cautious all the same."

Rayuno smiled gently, "I know you are. If there's anything I know about you, it's how paranoid you are in certain situations."

Sakura allowed him to embrace her, even though the young brunette wanted nothing more than to push everyone away. Sakura didn't want to do that, especially to her lover, but with the way she had lived in her past life, as a mortal, it was difficult not to.

"Sakura? Is there something wrong?" Rayuno inquired, worried due to the fact that the young girl was shaking like a leaf.

She looked up at his gorgeous golden eyes, knowing that he would accept her for who she is, not who she was. But her history of being a liar and occasional thief sometimes captures her and she repeats her actions.

"No," she lied, hating herself for it. "There's nothing wrong, Kuryu."

Rayuno patiently waited for her to calm down. After being in a relationship for half a year, he had learned to tell the difference between truth and deceit in Sakura's case. "If you're certain, love," he chuckled.

Sakura looked to the sky and noticed a pair of black feathered wings pass over some of the small holes of the warehouse. "Is that…"

Puzzled, Rayuno released her and briskly walked outside in time to see Yami's form head into the trees.

"That can't possibly be Loki!" he laughed nervously, glancing at his lover. "Could it?"

Yami's POV

Oh, it feels so good to be free again! Now to bring chaos on this pathetic planet…

Wait… What am I saying? I shouldn't be thinking like that!

I dove into the forest below me, quickly weaving my way between the dark trees that block my path.

The wind beneath my wings, the rush of energy coursing through me, I felt so alive, so free, as if a weight has been lifted off my shoulders!

Why, I do wonder, do I feel tempted to release myself and allow the energy to overrun the Earth?

Oh well, it matters not!

I remember the last time that these conspiratory thoughts I currently think about had taken me. It's been almost…

Wow, has it already been sixteen years? Time goes by quickly these days.

The last time something like this occurred, it was almost two months after the wedding. Damn that woman. I feel sorry for Sakura. It must be horrible being confused for her wicked twin sister.

I felt another rush of adrenaline flood my senses as I go straight for the midnight sky that seems to be calling to me.

The moon is beautiful tonight… Don't you agree?

Normal POV

Yami's silhouette can be spotted on the face of the pale moon, the male scanning the city from above as his pitch black wings held him aloft.

Without warning, he dove into the streets, maneuvering himself along the speeding vehicles. He could only laugh as others swerved in fear of accidently hitting him.

He approached the Kaiba Corp. building, landing softly on the railing. His wings disappeared just before the door burst open with a very irritated Kaiba Seto glaring daggers at his back.

"What are you doing up here, Yami?" he growled. The other began to chuckle at the brunette's tone.

"My name is Loki, Kaiba," he airily corrected, slightly surprised when he heard him take the safety off of his pistol. *When did he…?*

He carefully turned to face him, making sure he didn't lose his balance. "You really think that scares me? That's almost sad. I thought you knew me better than that, Kaiba Seto."

"How dare you!" Kaiba shouts as he walks closer.

Yami smiles darkly, his crimson eyes beginning to turn a shade of light blue. He raises his right hand, a ball of dark energy forming slowly over the top of it as he stares the brunette down.

"Go ahead, Kaiba," he dared. "Shoot me."

Tempted as he was, Kaiba only narrowed his eyes, his gun still pointed at the male. "What's wrong, Kaiba?" Yami sang. "Scared to shoot me? It's not like anyone would call 'murder.'"

A single shot rings out in the city, the bullet itself suspended right in front of the space where his heart should be.

"So close," Yami chuckled, "and yet so far."

"What…?" Kaiba dropped his guard in shock. The suspended bullet fell gracefully to the floor as Yami approached him slowly.

The male's originally crimson eyes began to turn gold now, the dark aura around him turning light. The brunette seemed entranced by this until his own blue eyes started turning silver. "Now, you will be my puppet, if only for a little while longer."

Kaiba's conscience raged at this, but his voice appeared to be silenced. Closing his eyes, Yami smiled sadly, "I only wish I didn't have this demon, but I'm afraid I have no choice."

Yami opened his eyes, the emotions dancing on the surface on his facetious appearance. "I will give you the strength to fend off anyone who tries to stop me, to prolong my Judgment Day." The tri-color haired teen stared coldly into his blue silver eyes.

"However, you will do nothing to put my lover in harm's way. Otherwise, you are free to do as you wish." Kaiba nodded once, acknowledging his command.

Yami, his fingertips alight with sparks of his magic, placed his right hand on the brunette's chest. Before long, Kaiba's eyes snapped open and wings like that of a white dragon sprouted from his back.

Yami, satisfied with the results, ordered, "Go. You know what to do." Kaiba, with his new powers, disappeared instantly from sight to complete his task. Yami glanced back at the city with a smirk. Tonight was the night he was going to set this demon free.

He could feel it.

Yuugi walked into the fiery volcano where he had met the dangerous woman he knew to be Sakura's twin sister about two weeks ago.

He approaches Taki slowly, her hazel eyes cutting right through him. "What are you doing here, Mutou?" Yuugi stared at her without faltering for a moment.

"Why did she do it, Taki?" Taki was startled by both the question itself and the cold tone that asked the inquiry. "Do what, child?"

Yuugi's violet eyes pierced her, touching her very soul. "Why did Sakura erase my memories?"

Taki gulped. Sakura was known for doing so when she wanted to hide something – or someone – from everyone else. Even if she was considered the evil twin, even she had her standards.

"I can't tell you that," she answered. "Besides, what does her suppressing your memories have anything to do with me?"

Yuugi materialized his preferred bow and quiver of arrows, nocking one and aiming it between her eyes. "You will tell me why."

Taki clearly knew Yuugi, or the person he refers to himself now as Amitos, was not going to stop until he had his answers. The violet-eyed male smirked, "Even you know that my skill in archery is unmatched, so I won't miss. Tell me what you know."

The brunette sighed, knowing that it was inevitable that he would find out. "Sakura suppressed your memory under your husband's orders. Don't you remember what happened? The day Loki went on a rampage without explanation?"

"Yes," he confirmed without hesitation. "Of course I do. It's the day I got this…" He pulls up his left sleeve and reveals the burns he got that very day. "It's a little hard to forget days like that."

Taki kind of felt bad for what happened to Yuugi, seeing how horrid the burns were. Were they always this bad?

Yuugi smiled when he saw the conflicted emotions dancing in her eyes. *This should give me the answers I want,* he thought. She takes a deep breath.

"I don't exactly know all the details, but apparently you knew something that you should not have known about Loki." Taki got up from her throne and began pacing the floor. "You did confront him about it before the memory was suppressed. But I'm afraid that's all I know."

Yuugi understood what the brunette was telling him. She couldn't have been lying since she tried to hide it from him. "Mistress!" Soret called, already transformed into his human form.

"What is it?"

"It's happening!" Taki's hazel eyes widened. "What?! Where?!"

"On top of the Kaiba Corp building!"

"Go at once! Take Orephos with you!"

"Will do."

Taki glanced at Yuugi. "You're husband seems to be fighting his demon right now. Are you ready?"

Yuugi smirked, the tip of the loaded arrow turning a bright pink. He releases it and it hits the wall, quickly becoming a portal to the human world. "Are you coming or not?"
