"WHY HAVE YOU COME NOW, AFTER ALL THIS TIME?" THE WOMAN begged. "We don't even exist as the Sky Crows anymore. We went into hiding. Disbanded. Died."
Raven held a hat in his hands, his eyes to the floor. "Because I am facing magic I cannot face alone, and the only thing I can think of to help me defeat those I've created is to enlist the help of those who created me."
The woman appraised his body language. She'd never seen Raven so quiet, so reverent. Perhaps his request was an honest one. It would be a first.
"Let me think about it," she said.
Raven nodded his head and turned to leave her.
"Wait," she said. "Who is it you're fighting?"
"Some sorcerers who've Survived," he said simply. She did not react. "Oh, and some descendants of the Lacota."
The woman froze.
"The Bloods, I think it was," he said, and walked out the door. He didn't make it fifty yards before the woman caught up to him.
"We're in."
