Octavia Queen was born a werewolf, taught how to control the shift even before she could transform. After her family begins to feel the magical pull of the Nematon tree in Beacon Hills, they pack up and move across country in order to investigate.
Her family is attacked by Berserkers on the way to Beacon Hills and Octavia is the only survivor, stuck in a strange town with no control over her more beastly side she is taken in by the towns sheriff and taught to once again control herself by the towns pack of werewolves.
