YN's POV
I was sitting on the air ship beside my two best friends Finn Coals, he was my partner in crime so to speak we would always get into trouble when we were younger and we usually got out of trouble because of how kind and persuasive my other best friend Lena Redfox was. If Finn was my partner in crime Lena was our Lawyer I guess, she was always able to get us out of our trouble. Sure she was nice and polite but we were pretty bad influences on her when we were younger. We had all known each other from birth because my Dad used to be on a team with Finn's mom and Lena's Dad there was also a fourth person on his team but she died before she could have a child so we were always one person short of a full team.
As the ship was taking off I was looking around while Finn and Lena were having a conversation. While I was looking around I saw a cat fannus girl approaching us she came up to me "Can I sit here?"
"Sure why not?"I responded gesturing to the open seat beside me
She sat down and extended her hand "My names Aubrey by the way"
I shook her hand "I'm YN Nice to meet you Aubrey"
As I said this Finn and Lena noticed "who's this YN?" Finn said
"Oh this is Aubrey"
"Hi" she said waving to the two of them
"Cool I'm Finn" Finn said
"Pleasure to meet you Aubrey my name is Lena" Lena said
I looked to Aubrey who appeared to be staring dumbfounded at Lena as she introduced herself she limply waved at her after Lena introduced herself and Lena then took her seat again "Y-your friends s-seem nice" Aubrey said while lightly blushing
I decided to tease her a bit it was probably some of Finn's behaviour rubbing off on me "Yeah they are, you seem to have taken a liking to Lena" I said the second part quieter so neither Finn or Lena heard
"What?!" She yelled what was weird about it was that her mouth didn't move and I heard it in my head
"Wait what was that" I said looking at her
"Ohh Sorry I forgot to warn you about my semblance" She said slightly embarrassed
I heard her voice in my head again "my semblance allows me to speak to people through their minds within a certain radius, Pretty Cool right?"
"Wait you can just do this with anyone?" I thought
She nodded and said "watch that guy" and pointed to a human who was looking out the window
A few seconds later he looked around quickly trying to find the source of the voice I laughed
"That's awesome" I said
"Yeah" I heard her voice in my head again
"I can also see your base thoughts"she thought
"Really what am I thinking about?"I responded
She then burst into laughter "What was that!?" She said in my mind
"A memory of Finn getting stuck in a bucket when we were like 4"
"I am gonna hold that over him for as long as possible"Aubrey thought
We then stopped the mind conversation and started an actually conversation with the both of us and Finn and Lena until we finally made it to Beacon Academy
"This looks amazing"Said Lena looking up at Beacon Academy
"There's gonna be a speech at the main hall so should we head there?" I asked
"Umm where is that by the way" Finn asked
"Hmmm maybe there's a map somewhere?" Aubrey said
We started walking around until we eventually found what we were looking for
Timeskip to The Ballroom
I was lying in my bed in pajama pants and a short sleeved FC shirt. I was thinking about what life here would be like, Finn then dropped onto his sleeping bag which was right beside mine wearing pajama pants but unlike me he was shirtless "Sup YN?"
"Nothin"
Finn then looked at the other people in the ballroom more specifically at the girls side of the room "There are a lot of hot first years here~"
I rolled my eyes "Keep it in your pants Finn most of these girls could kick the hell out of you"
"Touché"
Lena and Aubrey then walked up to us Lena was wearing a tank top and pajama pants while Aubrey was wearing a large shirt and pajama pants
"Yo" Finn said waving at the two girls
"Hello YN Hello Finn" Lena said as they walked up and sat down in front of us.
We all started a conversation Aubrey leaned over to me and whispered to me "watch this" just then without her saying anything Finn turned to Aubrey
"Did you say something Aubrey" Finn asked
"No"She responded as I quickly caught on to what she was doing and played along
"Did you say something?" He said turning to Aubrey again a couple seconds later
"No" as she was trying to hold back her laughter so I decided to intervene and give her some time to get her composure back
"Finn are you feeling ok?" I asked trying to sound legitimately concerned
"I just keep hearing her speak in my head"
"That's weird"I said
"It just happened again! Did non of you hear that!"
"No"I said
"I haven't said anything"Aubrey said
"Yeah I haven't heard anything" Lena said
"What the hell?!" Finn looked so confused it was glorious
Aubrey then tuned her attention to Lena "Wait I just heard it" said Lena
"That's weird" Aubrey said
"What's happening!?"Finn said as it became harder and harder keep the laughter
Eventually Aubrey broke and burst into laughter and I soon followed
"Why are you laughing?"Said Lena and Finn
"I was just messin with you guys using my semblance"
"Oh so that was your semblance?"Lena asked Aubrey turned her head to Lena and smiled but didn't say anything I assumed it was a mental exchange between the two of them
Lena then pouted "that was a dirty trick Aubrey" Aubrey looked genuinely sad by this and hugged Lena
"Sorry I was just messin with ya"
"It's ok I forgive you Aubrey" Lena said as I saw her blush a bit as Aubrey hugged her
"Wait a minute why didn't you mess with YN's head?!" Finn asked
Aubrey let go of the hug and spoke "oh YN already knew about my semblance, I told him about it on the air ship"
Finn looked at me "And you didn't stop her I thought we were friends"
"We are friends which is exactly the reason why I didn't stop her"I said and he looked annoyed
"So you guys know about my semblance what are yours?" Aubrey asked
"Who wants to start?" Asked Lena
"Why don't you?"Finn responded
"Ok" she then teleported behind Aubrey
"Wait where did she go!?"Aubrey asked
Both me and Finn saw but we were not gonna stop this. Lena snuck up on Aubrey and started to stroke her cat ears "I'm right behind you" Lena said
Aubrey blushed and quietly purred than tried to speak without purring loudly while Lena kept stroking her ears "s-so your s-semblance let's you t-t-teleport"
"Yes" Lena said
I guess Aubrey couldn't take it anymore, she closed her eyes and purred as Lena rubbed her ears much to the surprise of Lena "Does this feel that good?" Lena asked
"Yes" Aubrey said smiling
Lena blushed and removed her hand much to the disappointment of Aubrey. "Ummm s-s-so w-who's next"Lena asked blushing
"Sure I'll go I can't really demonstrate it but my semblance allows me to locate People and Grimm within a certain radius of me. You'll be able to tell I'm doing it when my eyes change colour" Finn said
"Cool" Aubrey said
"Your turn YN" Finn smiled and looked at me knowingly
We have a bit we like to do when ever anyone asks about my semblance
"Hey Aubrey"
"Yeah?"
"Punch Finn in the dick"
"What? why?"
"Just cause"
"Ok?"
She walked up and went to punch him in the dick when I activated my semblance making a an invisible shield appear around Finn as the fist bounced off my shield
"Wait what?"
"My semblance allows me to create a temporary shield around me or an ally"I explained
"Ohhh sweet"
"I'm still waiting for the day where we start this bit and you just don't activate your semblance" Finn said
"I thought about it, but don't worry that day will come my friend"I said patting him on the shoulder and he looked nervous
"Alright now that that is over we should get back to bed" Lena said
"Yeah big day tomorrow, Good night girls" I said as I got into my sleeping bag as Lena and Aubrey walked back to theirs
