The alarms wouldn't stop blaring, sweat fell down your face as you ran. The mask made it easier for you not to be identified, but the real task was just making it off the ship. You let out an angry cry as you sprinted faster, your long, lithe legs carrying you towards your exit point. You rounded the corner and slid in between the legs of a galra guard and kept going. You tossed an explosive on the wall as a distraction and kept going. You were so close, you saw the doors, everyone was goading you to go faster, they had a strict time limit and having a rookie set off the alarms made your day so much better.
You leapt onto the ship just before the doors started to close, you deactivated your mask and your tail lashed side to side. "Alright!" you said obviously winded. "Who set them off?!" you shouted at the crew. Your job was to make sure everyone was doing the right thing at the right time, and everyone pointed to a newbie, Auzrin. His large ears bent down, "I-I'm sor-" you stopped him, "No excuses, you will be talking to Kolivan when we get back," you scolded him. He simply nodded and you went to the cockpit, joining your good friend and partner in crime, Thace.
Clearing your throat to signal you were there he nodded, walking over you placed a hand on his shoulder. He looked up and smiled at you, placed the ship into autopilot and stood up. You shut the cockpit door so no one could see, he hugged you tightly, "I didn't think I was going to make it," you say into his shoulder. Even though you were a higher commanding officer, because of a recessive gene, you were much shorter than your normal galra companions. Thace hummed and rubbed your back, "You know I wouldn't leave without you," he said softly. You furrowed your brows, you pulled back, "Thace, you know the mission is more important than me right?" you said staring into his eyes. Thace stared back at you with the utmost certainty, "Yes, I do, but that doesn't mean I don't have morals," he said grabbing your shoulders.
Sighing you saw that they were approaching the base, you checked all of the sensors to make sure you weren't being followed at all, once that was clear, Thace made the decent into the base. The ride was turbulent and you clung to Thaces chair as you neared the base. Once you landed you all exited the ship, you walked by Auzrin to take him to Kolivan. Thace caught up to you, "Hey, take it easy, he's only just taken his entrance test, it was his first field mission," he said and you sighed, "I can't go easy on someone just because their new, we live in secret and we do everything quickly and quietly," you say as you approached Kolivan. "Explain yourself," you said calmly to him, Thace sighed as he watched as the three of you discussed what was to happen. After a few minutes you nod, and Kolivan dismisses you two, walking back you smile at Thace, then Kolivan called Thace over. You raise a brow and give him a teasing look, he rolled his eyes, walking over he bowed his head in respect, "Yes Leader?" he asked knowing that you were watching.
"Thace," Kolivan started, "I know that there are many opportunities to prove yourself to the Blade and I've decided, with your excellent work and qualities, you are ready to go into the field as an undercover spy," he said. Thace's eyes widened, "Are you sure?" he said and Kolivan nodded, "Yes, you start next week, prepare yourself to be implemented in as a low level galran soldier," he said and dismissed him. Walking back, he saw you standing there with a hand on your hip, tail lazily swishing on the ground. "What you get in trouble for hm?" you teased, walking with him towards the dorm wing. "I....Well I'm being sent straight into galra territory as a spy," he said and your mischievous look instantly dropped. "What?! Why?!" you nearly shout, he shushed you and quickly stepped into his room, pulling you in. "Thace! What the actual fuck do you mean? Sending you into the field?!" you were starting to panic, you looked up to Thace, he was your best friend....and you wished you could make that something more, but attachments make being in the blade hard. "Kolivan said my qualifications make me a perfect fit, and...I start next week," he said scratching the back of his neck.
You walked over to his bed and sat down, "I can't believe it...." is all you could say. Your ears hung low and your tail slowly twitched, "(Y/N) listen..I know that we're close and I just want you to know, that I'll do my best to contact you any moment I can," he said sitting next to you, wrapping his arm around your shoulder. "I really appreciate that, but Thace listen I....I need to tell you something," you sighed and looked up at him, he looked down at you and you couldn't help but get flustered. Your fur started to stand up on its own and you nearly lost it right there. "What is it?" he asked you. Letting out a deep breath you looked him in the eyes, "Thace, I....I really believe that I don't want to be friends with you anymore..." you said wringing your hands. He pulled back, "What? Why?! Is it because of the spy job (Y/N) you can't-" you stopped him.
"No! No not that, it's for....a different reason.." you said placing a hand on your tail to calm it down. "I...I want to be more than friends Thace..." at this point you were a mess, and Thace, well....he was surprised. You looked at his face, and waited. He furrowed his brows and thought about it, you bit your lip nervously and awaited his response. He looked at you and pulled you closer with the arm that was still wrapped around you and pressed his forehead against yours, "I think I can manage that," he said in a low tone that sent shivers down your spine.
Thace smiled as you wrapped your arms around his his neck pulling him in for a hug. Thace being a mischievous little devil, he hugged you back and then slid his hands down lower to your waist, you chuckled, "Alright I see what you're doing, I'll play your game," you say and move back. You run your hands down his chest and rest them on his thighs, "Your move," you teased. He smirked, "Dont get too cocky, I'm not even close to being finished," he said as he moved his hands around to your back and lower to the base of your tail. He raised a brow and brushed his hands along it, you let out a gasp, which made Thace happy. He stopped, "Your move," he whispered huskily in your ear. You let out a small growl before continuing your motions, your hands moved to his inner thighs and slowly moved up. You moved them away from that area before they touched it and rested your hands on the top of his ass. "Oh, you are one tricky man," he said before grabbing you by the shoulders and pinning you down on the bed.
"Gasp! I've been defeated!" you say dramatically, placing your hand on your forehead and tilting your head to the side. Thace let out a laugh through his nose and he buried his head in your neck, and then quickly left a small bite. "Ow-Hey!" you turned your head back to see his smug face. You smirk and pull him into a kiss. You let out a pleased sigh as he sunk into you, moving his lips passionately against yours. You moved your hands up into his hair and tangled your fingers into it, he let out a small groan opening his mouth lightly, you took this moment to slip your tongue into his mouth.
Suddenly gaining some confidence, you flipped the two of you over, with you straddling his waist. You slowly removed your armor, leaving only your under suit that contoured your body magnificently. Thace was loving the view and started to run his hands up and down your thighs. Slowly you start to remove the undersuit and let it hang around your waist, only teasing him with your lightly scarred torso. You gave him a look and leaned down slowly, your hips pushing down on top of his and he let out a small moan. "Having fun?" you teased as you nipped at his neck, "You just love teasing me huh?" he said breathlessly. You chuckle and continued to leave bites along his neck, as you went lower you helped him take off his armor and his undersuit. Once it was off you ran your hands along his chest, you smiled warmly down at him and laid down on top of him.
Just as you were about to get back to teasing Thace, you felt his hand brush the base of your tail and you let out a breathless moan. "Oh? What's this..?" Thace said huskily into your ear. You look at him as he continued to caress your body, the inside of your thighs, your ass, up your chest and to your shoulders as he rolled the two of you over. "My turn~," he said and pressed his lips to yours. He placed his knee between your legs and started to kiss down your neck. He pressed his thigh down just a touch, which made you latch your fingernails into Thace's back as he continued his assault. You felt his hand around the base of your tail, cursing him for knowing your weakness. Moving his hand away he started to trail his mouth further down until he got to where your waistband was, he looked up at you and the two of you locked eyes.
He was about to pull them down when a knocked sounded at the door. "Thace, (Y/N) you and your squad are requested in the briefing room by Kolivan," they said. You two looked at each other and smirked, "I would suggest we finish this, but we know our Leader," Thace said and placed a loving kiss on your lips. Climbing off of you, he helped you up and you both redressed. "Ok, I appreciate the compression suits so we don't have to worry about the....problem we caused each other," you said as you put on your suit and armor. Nodding Thace continued to put his armor on in comfortable silence. Once done you both exit, and just to tease Thace you flicked him with your tail, he growled playfully at you and you both headed down.
The week passed and it was time for Thace to depart, he was dressed in a low class solider uniform. He sighed and you walked closer, "Listen, be safe, and when this war is over and all is said and done, we're starting a new life and we're going to have a home-" Thace placed a hand on your shoulder. Looking up, tears were in your eyes and he pulled you close. "Shhh, I'll come back, I promise," he said into your ear softly. Pulling back he looked in your eyes and pulled you into a soft kiss, you wrapped your arms around his neck. You could feel the tears slip down your face as you continued to move your lips against his. Pulling back he gave you a reassuring smile, one final hug. "Goodbye, I'll see you soon (Y/N)," what you hadn't realized that it was the last goodbye you would ever hear from him. "Goodbye Thace, I love you..." you say trying to say it before the door of the ship closed. He looked at you and smiled toothily, "I love y-" the door shut and the ship took off into the inky blackness that was the universe.
Many years passed and Thace climbed the ranks in the galra empire and he messaged you as much as he could, and the higher his status was the less frequent he sent a message. You always loved his updates and videos, seeing him grow older and get the streaks of white in his fur as the two of you aged. You heard that the full scale attack that they had been planning forever, was going to be happening. You sent Thace an encrypted message and cried as you sent it, it told him how much you miss him and want him to come back no matter what. You didn't get any messages back because you knew that he was under surveillance because of them discovering a spy in their ranks. You waited for what seemed like forever and then you got the notification that the attack was happening, you readied yourself and went out. After it happened and the bomb went off you quickly made it back to base and you rushed to the Leader. "Kolivan?! Kolivan! I-I need to know!! Is he alive?! Tell me if Thace is alive!" you shouted at him, voice breaking, tears in your eyes. Kolivan gave you a grim stare and he handed you a small device, "A paladin gave this to me, he was told to have it given to you," he said. Snatching the device you held it tight in your clutches, you quickly ran off to your room, multiple friends of yours trying to ask, some only giving you looks of pity. Opening your door you quickly rushed to your computer and then shoved the drive into it, you watched as a video loaded.
Thace's face appeared on screen, chaos seemed to be happening around him, and he looked battered. "(Y/N), Hey, I know I haven't responded to your last video log you sent, but I wanted to make th-" an explosion sounded and a young mans voice came through telling him to hurry up. "I don't have much time, but I wanted to tell you, I don't think I can make it back, sorry I broke our promise, I wish I could be there with you,-" he looked behind the camera and shot at something. "I wanted to say before I left, that I love you, so...very...very much.." your hands were covering your mouth and pressed down hard so no sobs escaped. Tears were flowing freely down your face as you continued watching. "Listen, I'm going to have to go soon, I love you (Y/N), but right now, I have to make sure that you get the life you've always wanted," he said and gave you the best toothy smile he could muster and the transmission ended. You let the smile of your lover stay on screen as you slowly pushed back your chair, you stumbled to your bed and collapsed. You let all your feelings out, your sobs echoed loudly throughout your room, your body was shaking violently as you grieved for your lost lover.
For the next couple of days, you would be delivered your food and no one disturbed you. You barely left bed, barely ate and all you did was cry and sleep. After a couple of days, a colleague entered your room, "(Y/N), you haven't come out in days," your friend Oettek said to you. He walked over to your bed and he sat down at the foot, "I know that Thace's....absence has been extremely hard on you, but you need to talk to someone about this," he said placing a hand close to yours. "Oettek..? Why...why does it hurt so much?" you asked, your voice raspy from crying and screaming. Letting out a deep breath he nudged you to sit up, once you did he pulled you into him, your head leaning on his shoulder. "Love is painful, you give your heart up to someone, and your heart is a fragile thing, if you love someone enough to know that one day they could break it, it makes everything hurt a million times more," he rubbed your arm. Hugging him, you thanked him, "Oettek, you are one of the greatest friends I could ask for, you're like a brother to me," you say. "I know, now, rest up for today, eat something and I'll come get you tomorrow for training, I'm going to kick your lazy ass into shape," he said nudging you playfully. You yawn and lay back down, he left and, for once....you slept with out any nightmares.
