Then | Summer 2017
Everyone knows the rule of small towns.
You tell one person, the whole town knows.
It is overrated, really.
Secrets can be kept.
The question is, how long?
How long till its out there in the open, for every prying eye to see?
How long can it be kept together?
How long till we break apart?
We didn't know this when Summer'17 started.
We didn't know how much it was going to cost us.
All we cared about was our stash of alcohol and our sweet, 'trustworthy', friends.
Sitting then, on the steps of Adam's lake house, we were having the time of our lives.
There were five of us then, we are all on our own now.
Getting drunk, getting so high we felt above all, only, in reality, we were just sinking.
That night, we were unknowingly planning something big.
We were planning an end.
We were painting the sinfully beautiful picture of our demise with the alcohol bottles.
It's a shame, really, that we were so oblivious.
Because eventually, Riverange is a small town.
