Some hours after you and Eto had captured Kanae Von Rosenwald, a servant of the Tsukiyama family, Eto was having a "session" with the androgynous ghoul.
Her plan was to turn Kanae into a tool with which she could begin the process of snapping Ken Kaneki out of his current Haise Sasaki persona. You went along with the plan because you loved her, not because of what Eto saw in that young boy. You couldn't have cared less about him at the moment.
Now you were waiting outside the room where she was torturing Kanae. You had at one point assisted in the process, placing countless clocks and pummeling her into the dirt if she tried to escape. Most of the job was done by her, though. While you did sometimes come in to check, she was the one who sewed Kanae eyes open and her mouth shut, and impaled her kagune with something that would alter her thinking even further while also boosting her kagune's power. Over time, she had went from a lovesick, androgynous little girl to a psychotic little puppet.
While you were sitting there, Noro appeared. He had walked over to you , looked inside the torture room and then back at you. He had stared at you for a moment before continuing to walk somewhere else.
Eto soon exited the room after she was done talking.
"So, how did it go?" you ask.
"She's ready now." Eto replied, "Now all that is left is to head out to the Lunatic Eclipse building. Kaneki will show up there, and once he does, I'll enact my plan."
"And I'll be get us out of there, right?" you asked her.
"Correct." she said, "If not for you, I might've had to prepare for a frustrating little escape plan."
"As long as you're alive and happy." you told her, "Just try to avoid getting hurt too much."
"Of course, darling." she said, cupping your face, "But before we head out, how about we enjoy some quality time?"
"Sounds good." you replied as you kissed her.
A short while later, you were waiting in the shadows on the rooftop of the Lunatic Eclipse office building, one of several places owned by the Tsukiyama family. While you were on the building, Eto waited in a building close to it. You had your armor-kakuja active in case things got ugly. You heard a lot of commotion from inside the building. Eto had sent Noro inside to stall the Quinx squad. You wondered if he'll survive fighting them all.
"You sure that Sasaki's gonna show up here?" you quietly asked her through the phone, trying not to draw the attention of Shuu Tsukiyama, who was now standing at the rooftop.
"Trust me." she told you, "He'll be here. He used to be friends with the blue-haired guy."
"Right." you said as you closed the phone.
After some waiting, Sasaki arrived at the rooftop. A helicopter that was heading for the helipad on the roof was downed by CCG. You guessed it was there to get Shuu away from the building.
Sasaki tries to arrest the blue-haired man, but Shuu instead attacks him: He is is quickly overpowered by the investigator. The situation was quickly changed by the arrival of the now-insane Kanae, who attacked Sasaki. She manages to overpower him and almost manages to drop him off the roof. When you saw this, you were a bit suspicious about how well Eto's plan was working.
The tables were turned again when Sasaki manages to fight back and briefly ovepower Kanae with remarkable ferocity. You noticed that Eto jumped over to the building, activating her kakuja in the process and striking the investigator with a hefty blow to the head. You stepped out of the shadows to follow the situation better so that you could escape with her as soon as possible when needed.
Eto taunted Sasaki for not dodging her attack and gave some "motivation" from to Kanae, who starts beating Kaneki to the ground.
'You really did sully that rose.' you thought as you watched her punch Sasaki's head to the ground while yelling about how she'll be loved, accompanied by insults and assorted words in German.
Suddenly, though, you notice how Sasaki's hair turns black. The tables are turned a third time, with Sasaki beginning a brutal attack on Kanae. He sent both Shuu and Kanae falling down from the building. After that, Haise started fighting Eto, with her taunting him as they fought. Eto even went a bit crazy during the fight, her kakuja deforming into a mass of limbs and mouths.
After some more fighting, you almost jumped towards them when you saw Sasaki almost cleave Eto from inside her kakuja. After she said something to him, he cut her in two from the waist, with her top half falling downwards to street level.
You knew it was time to intervene. You leapt down to the rooftop and bolted towards where she was falling.
"Oh, look who it is." the black-haired Sasaki spoke to you as you bolted towards his direction.
"Can it brat." you snarled at him as you delivered a powerful haymaker at him, "I've got places to be."
He dodged, but you continued running and leapt off the roof after Eto. You saw him look at you falling downwards as you dived towards Eto.
You managed to catch Eto, and quickly activated your monster-kakuja before you two hit the ground.
The kakuja absorbed the impact completely, and after taking a small moment to allow yourself to recover from the impact, you checked your surroundings and started running away. Civilians ran away and screamed as you stormed through the streets. After you found a spot to hide, you deactivated your kakuja and disappeared into the sewers, heading towards the 24th ward to throw of any CCG investigators.
"Nice catch." Eto said in a slightly weak voice.
"Save your breath." you told her, to which he replied by gently closing her eyes.
CCG didn't follow you, so you managed to safely escape to Eto's apartment without drawing attention.
Once you got her inside and into the bathtub, you started checking on her injuries. The bleeding had stopped, but she could've been better.
"You gonna be OK? you asked her.
"I'll be fine, but it might take a while to recover." she replied.
"I think I can help with that." you replied as you activated your kagune, forming several thin, red tube-like tentacles with pointed ends.
"What's that?" she asked you.
"Just a little something I thought of." you told her, "Now, show me your back."
She managed to move a little to show her back.
"Now, where's your kakuhou in here?" you ask her.
She points to a spot between her shoulderblades.
"This might sting a bit." you said as you moved the tentacles and jabbed them straight into her kakuhou.
"What's this?" she asked.
"Rc cell transfusion." you replied, "Since humans can use blood transfusions on their injured to compensate for blood loss, we ghouls should technically be able to use Rc cells to similar effect, or at least to temporarily speed up the healing process. And while you already have a quick healing factor, I wanna make sure you recover as fast as possible."
"What could I do without you?" she said with a smile.
"No idea." you replied, "But definitely worse."
For a while, you stood there and kept pumping Rc cells into her. You watched her boosted healing factor work its magic as her lower body started to regenerate. By the time you started feeling tired, the process had reached her hips and was starting to work on her upper thighs.
"I'll hit the hay for now. Are you gonna manage?" you ask her.
"I'll be fine." she said, "But can I at least have a good night's kiss?"
You didn't say anything and kissed her on the forehead.
"Good night, my owl." you said as you retracted your kagune and walked out of the bathroom and onto the couch.
While you were sleeping, Eto held her hands to her chest as she smiled.
"What could I do without you indeed." she said as she watched her body regenerate. She did notice how quickly it was happening. She was healing much faster than usual.
After only an hour her legs had fully regenerated. She guessed that if it wasn't for the fact you two had highly evolved kagunes, which both had kakuja mutations, your procedure might have not worked. After all, you two were different Rc types, you being a koukaku and her being an ukaku type.
Either way, she was happy about having you with her again. She looked at her newly-grown lower half and wiggled her toes before hopping out of the bathtub, draining it empty and drying herself. After she was finished, she sauntered over to your sleeping form and lied down on top of you, snuggling against your scar-covered chest.
While the Tsukiyama Family Extermination Operation had been a failure, it wasn't the worst news that the CCG heard.
The worst news were that there had been two confirmed witnessed cases of The 24th Ward Monster cooperating with Aogiri Tree operatives and the One-Eyed Owl, with multiple eye witnesses from the latter.
This terrified the ghoul investigators all over the city, knowing that despite the fact the Quinx squad had managed to kill the Aogiri Tree operative Noro and wipe out most Tsukiyama family members, they had lost one of the quinx, failed to capture Shuu Tsukiyama and one of their bases had been devastated.
To CCG, that day was both a day of fear and loss. A tragedy.
But to you, it had been just another successful and productive day.
