it was lunch time, the only period that is actually tolerable
i just set my tray down and sit with my friends when i see flash walking over
my friend raises her eyebrow at me and i roll my eyes
he sits next to me, trying to act cool "hey y/n"
the whole cafeteria is staring and talking about us, i just know it
i turn to him "hi flash"
"so when should i pick you up?" he asks
i raise my eyebrow "i'm not going on a date with you"
he shakes his head, that cocky smirk still on his lips "come on"
"i'm sorry, but no"
he frowns and gets up, walking away
i sigh a breath of relief
two seconds later, i hear laughter
i look around and see everyone laughing, and some pointing at an area in the cafeteria
i look and see flash shoving peter parker's face down into his lunch
i get up and walk over to them. flash doesn't see me right away, so i tap him on his shoulder
he turns towards me, his smirk instantly falling off his face, as he let's go of peter
everyone stops laughing and everything is silent
"this is why i won't go out with you flash. it's because of the type of person you are. i turned you down so you decide to take it out on someone else" i gesture to peter and see him wiping his face off, revealing his rosy cheeks
"come on peter" i say to him, gently
he grabs his things and swings his book bag over his shoulder
i start to walk past flash, with peter behind me, but he puts a hand out and stops peter
i turn around and look at flash, his cocky smirk on his face "so you would rather date the nerd who stares at you and draws you?"
he rips a book out of peter's hands, opening it to a page and showing me a realistic picture of me.
i grab the book out of flash's hands, looking at it closer
i look up at peter and see his face deepen to a red color as he stares at the ground
i look back at flash and he's watching me, waiting for me to do or say something, to freak out
i close peter's sketchbook and hand it back to him as he continues to stare at the floor
"it's beautifully drawn, peter" i say
he looks up at me shocked, not quite believing me
i smile at him and he smiles back
"are you serious or are you just messing with me, to make me mad. cause if so, haha you got me" flash says
i look at flash and get real close to him "i am not messing with you. just leave me, peter, and ned-" i look behind him and gesture to ned "-alone and we won't have any problems. got it?"
flash rolls his eyes but mumbles "got it"
i smile "good"
i turn towards peter and gesture my hand out to him
this makes him blush, but he takes my hand anyways
i lead him to the girl's bathroom and tell him to wait outside while i open the door and make sure no one is in there. there isn't so i tell peter to come in and he walks in slowly as i lock the door behind him.
i grab some paper towels and wet them under the sink, before gently wiping the rest of the food off his face
i throw the paper towels away and sit on the counter
"so, do you have any other drawings of me?" i ask
he gives me an unsure look "please? i seriously loved the one i was shown"
he hands me his sketchbook and i flip through every page, slowly scanning them all
every page has me on it in some type of way. whether it's pop art or expressionism and so on.
i flip to the drawing of me, that flash showed me, and it happens to be the last page
"i seriously am in love with how this is drawn. it's so perfect" i whisper
i take out my phone to take a picture of his drawing, but then stop and look up at him
he's watching me, curiously
"can i take a picture of it?" i ask
he nods and i do
"can you take a picture of my next to it?" i ask
he nods and i hand him my phone before putting the book next to my face and matching the smile as in the drawing
he takes a couple and hands my phone back to me
i put my phone on the counter next to me and look up at him "why did you chose me?"
he shrugs
"peter, you can talk to me. you're not mute, i know because i can hear you and ned discussing star wars and comic books all the time"
he smiles widely and laughs "so you stalk me too?"
i laugh "i guess so. now we're even"
a moment passes
"i draw you because you're beautiful" he whispers so quietly that i almost don't hear him
i blush "thank you. and i would draw you if i could"
he laughs and blushes deeply "thank you"
someone knocks on the door "i really have to use the restroom" a girl shouts
i laugh and jump off the counter, unlocking the door
she runs in and to a stall
peter looks panicked and i gesture for him to follow me. he does and we exit the bathroom, seeing ned standing across the hall, looking at us
we walk over to him
"hey ned" i say
"hey, y/n" he says back, enthusiastically
i giggle at his excitement and he laughs with me
peter looks between the two of us, a smile on his face
"why are you guys laughing?" peter asks
"because ned is excited all the time" i manage to say between laughs
peter rolls his eyes "he's always excited, it get's annoying sometimes"
we stop laughing and ned looks at him "okay, so give me the details. did you guys make out or-"
peter cuts him off "no"
"oh come on peter, you're telling me that you were alone with your crush and didn't make a move?" ned asks
peter's face goes bright red as ned covers his mouth surprised that he said that
