she stared at me through her velvet lashes, with those golden eyes of fire and dying embers, she could conquer the world with those calloused hands, skin bronzed as if she swallowed the sun, honey, my darling, words spill from your lips that glitter, they melt upon my skin and leave bruises that scar and leave every memory of where your fingertips touched

he read my favorite book, held it in those hands that i dreamt running through my careless curls, you always said they were wild, just like me, just like us, restless unless we were running, heads thrown back to the black sky above us, filled with stars connected like the freckles on your face, boy with the skin like the earth, boy with his head in the clouds, boy who held my heart in his hands, i hope you know im made of glass
