Okay, I know this chapter's short. I made it so that Coachella could end and I could move on to bigger parts of the story... some you guys may like, or hate, depends on who you are. And yes, it's okay to hate Elena. If you don't, you will, and if you do, you'll definitely despise her for what's coming. 😈
I stood next to Elena as the first performer sang, my mind elsewhere. On my father, on that man, on Colby. What did he mean- 'no you're not'?
Did he know something about me I didn't tell him? Did Elena tell him something? I once told her that my father was a mean man when he drank, but nothing like that.... and how could he guess that, even if he knew, just by seeing me spaced out?
I lost Colby somewhere in the crowd, I couldn't see him anymore. I was glad I was next to Elena, who laughed and danced next to me as I watched. She grabbed my hands. "Come on, Rose! You're no fun."
I backed away a little. "No, Elena, I don't want to!" I whined as she started to spin me. "Just relax, let loose!"
I let her spin me around to the beat of the music, it was so loud I could feel the tempo pulsating in my chest. As much as I didn't want to, I really liked it.
Colby looked back at me once and laughed, and I smiled back. I really liked that too.
Coachella wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be.
