After my last few classes of the day, I meandered my way back to the dorm. I honestly did not want to be seen in public, after what happened with Harry I am too embarrassed to show myself. Childish, I know. But I do not react well to public situations and embarrassment.

Once I reached the oh so familiar dorm room I breathed a sigh of relief. I opened the door to see Briar laying on the floor in a straddle split. Ah, the perks of dancing since you were a three year old. I remember all the times we made up combinations and dances to random songs in my little dance room. Although seeing Briar chilling in a split with her head touching the ground was funny, that was not what made me laugh.

She was singing a song from The Little Mermaid at the top of her lungs.

She hasn't even had a conversation with me yet, and already she has made me feel better. My laugh must've got her attention because she stood up and ran over to me. She jumped and latched herself to me, whilst I stood there pin straight.

"Jay I'm so glad that you are here! I have so much to tell you!"

She seems to have had a good day. At least one of us was enjoying the college experience so far.

"Alright Briar, why don't you get off me now? I have a lot to tell you too."

She listened to me and hopped down. She ran and belly flopped onto her small bed, which was unmade and driving me crazy. I like things to be organized and a certain way, I get that quality from my mother. I took off my Keds and placed them by the foot of my bed. I sat on my soft comforter and looked at Briar, who seemed like she was going to burst from excitement.

"You are never going to guess what happened today!"she chirped.

"Uhm...you ran a mile dressed as a fairy princess?" I guess.

That's a thing we do. We say some random stuff all the time, everyone that is normally around us is used to it by now.

"No, I only run miles dressed as a princess on alternating Saturdays. But I do happen to have a class with that Niall boy. He gave me his number and told me about a welcome back party the frat house is having tonight."

Briar was rocking back and forth in excitement.

"You got invited to a frat party?" I asked.

"Well not only me, you too. Niall said something about you coming along for Harry."

I was shocked.

"Why would I come along for Harry? He did a terrible thing to me today that I will never be able to forgive him for! You know how I get when I am embarrassed. I cannot go."

I was serious with my answer of not going, but Briar wasn't having it. That's one thing about her, she will not stop till she gets her way. It can we quite annoying at times, but it usually ends well.

After Bri complained for thirty minutes I finally gave in. She said, "Jay you have to look really hot tonight to get back at Harry!". I rolled my eyes as soon as she said it. Why couldn't we just stay in and eat Chinese while watching Girl Code? I would be overjoyed just doing that.

Briar was in the process of getting ready for the party while I just laid on my bed. Her side of the dorm was a complete mess, and it was bothering me. I was thinking about all of the work that I am going to have to do in the morning, if I do not do it tonight. I only have one class tomorrow. I was getting a headache and all I wanted to do was sleep.

I guess I dozed off because I was woken up when a mascara tube was thrown at me.

"God damn it Briar that hurt!" I exclaimed sitting up in my bed and rubbing the spot on my arm that was hit. Briar plays softball, why doesn't she realize how hard she throws!

"Sorry. We have to get going soon and you aren't even dressed!"

She was sitting in front of our mirror finalizing her make-up and hair.

"Why can't I just wear this?" I asked motioning towards my jeans, that did not have a hole in the bottom, and my white blouse.

"Jacqueline, I know that you do not go to parties often, but hell. At least try a little. Put a different shirt on, and unroll your jean bottoms. Do something different for once."

"I do not like different." I stated.

"I know that you don't, but you should start to try to."

Why was Briar acting like this? She usually is okay with whatever  I wear. We both have different styles and she knows that.

"Well, I have a lot of work to do, so I am just going to stay home tonight. Let them know that I will go to the next one."

I laid back down on my bed and shut my eyes, the headache was coming back.

"Are you being serious right now? The girls from the sorority are going to be there,so you are going to be missing out on your chance to get in. I thought that being in a sorority was your dream since you were eight years old. You aren't going to impress them by staying in doing your work. Sororities and fraternities party and keep up with their work."

When she said the sorority girls were going to be there I opened my eyes. Briar was right, it would help if I go. She is always there to help me realize things while I am so stubborn.

I got out of my bed and pulled out my favorite dress. It was white, lace, and ended just before my knees. I pulled on a grey sweater because of the chilly night time weather. I put my topsiders on and re-straightened my hair. I touched up my make-up, making it a little darker, and turned to look at Briar.

She seemed surprised that I agreed, and honestly I was too.

"Are we ready?" I asked grabbing my phone from the table.

"Yes! Let me text Niall that we are on our way now."

She pulled out her phone and sent the message.

"Briar, did we think of how we are going to get there. The frat houses are a long walk away and we do not have a car."

"Shit."

I was about to have a panic attack. I was out of my comfort zone and things already were not going as planned. This night was going downhill rapidly. Just as I was about to suggest that we just go inside and eat Chinese a black car pulled up along side us.

"Great. To add to our fucking wonderful night we are going to get fucking raped." muttered Briar causing me to smile.

This is obviously not the time to be amused, but it hard to not laugh or be happy when it comes to Briar.

The car window was rolled down and an all to familiar British accent spoke.

"Jackie! What is a pretty young lady doing outside when it is dark, bad things could happen to you."

I blushed.

"Well, Harry, we are actually on our way to a party."

"How do you plan on getting there? Walking?" he laughed.

"No, we happen to be taking our car." I said too quickly. Briar was looking at me with wide eyes, she knows that nothing good is going to come of this.

"Really? Then why are you two standing out here?"

"Why are you asking us so many goddamned questions?" snaps Briar.

"Feisty. Jackie I suggest that you get your friend here under control." laughed the rude boy. "Also, I am not an idiot and I realize that you two need a ride to the party. Get in."

Was this really happening right now?

This boy earlier was embarrassing me in front of a crowd of people, and now he is offering to give me a ride to a party.

"Are you going to get in the car or not? I can not be late to my own party." snapped the dimpled boy.

We both got in to the backseat.

"Don't fucking give either of us attitude."

Oh god Briar.

"You should really control your mouth."

"Don't tell me what I should do."

"See, this is why Jackie is my favorite of you two."

What?

We made it to the party, driving the whole way in silence. It was extremely awkward. Briar was beyond pissed, and everyone could tell. This night could not get any worse. I can not get what Harry said off of my mind. What does he mean by that?

How can I be someone's favorite when I've know them for not even a day?

I have a strong feeling that nothing good is going to come from associating with this boy.
