They all came to an agreement.
They wouldn't remember Hiccup through his death...but instead through his life. His memories he left behind; the fun and happy times, per se.
It was night. They crowded around the floor, holding pillows of their own as they laid on sleeping bags. All of them were covered in blankets.
They told stories Roman didn't mention, and it was fun in general.
"Shouto really wrecked the teen there!", Jack recounted the events from their Provisional License exam. "He really wasn't able to stop his blow!"
"Why do you even say that like it's a good thing?", Shouto kept a perfect poker face.
Jack shrugged. "I just do."
"Oh yeah", Leo whipped his head to Izuku. "Dude, there was that chick called Camie, right? The one that has that police officer suit and blonde hair?"
"Most of us are blonde here, Leo", Annabeth rolled her eyes.
"She totally winked at you, dude!"
At this the room shot into chaos. "WOAH, WHAT?"
Izuku sunk in his pillow. Shouto looked at the greenette beside him.
Katsuki shoved his own into him in anger. One hand was placed on Shouto's head. "How dare you, Deku!?"
"K-KACCHAN, WAI--"
"Actually", the woman, now known as Valka, piped in. "It really doesn't mean anything beside from the fact that she likes you."
Katsuki, Izuku and Shouto stared at her dead in the eye, curious. "Eh?"
Valka smiled fondly. "Yes. It only means that she takes an interest to you, but that doesn't really mean that you're immediately in a relationship."
Katsuki blinked. "Oh."
He got off the greenette and fixated a glare on him. Izuku suddenly felt nervous.
"It's a shame you didn't get your license, Shouto", Kayano frowned.
"What about me, you *****?!", Katsuki growled at her.
"Nobody cares about you."
"Ooohh, burn!", Karma snickered.
Katsuki almost launched himself to her if it wasn't for Uraraka tapping him and making him float. "Oh dangnabbit."
They all giggled.
"Well, we should turn in for the night", Valka gazed at the window. "There's a lot of things I could show you all tomorrow."
"Sweet!", Percy beamed.
"Wait a minute", Izuku whipped out his Hero Analysis for The Future no. 14 and flipped it to a desired page. "I just thought of something."
"Papaaa", Eri whined. "Overworking isn't good for you..."
"She's right, Izuku", Uraraka smiled.
"Yeah, but..", he trailed off. "Just let me finish this."
A round of silence reigned as Izuku scribbled down his ideas on the notebook. Everyone looked at him.
Then...
"GO TO BED, GO TO BED, GO TO BED--"
"Go to sleeeeeep, now and reeeeest--"
"HELLO DARKNESS, MY OLD FRIEND--"
"SITTING HERE IN THE SUNSHINE, THIS PLACE IS NOT MINE AND ALL IS NOT FINE--"
"Hey wait you didn't drink any water now, did you all? You should probably do that too--"
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU--"
"DATI RATI SABAY PA NATING PINANGARAP ANG LAHAT--"
Izuku tried tuning them all out and updating the notebook, but it’s hard to do when they're all yelling something different at the same time.
Eventually, all Izuku could think of is ikaw ang 'yung reyna, at ako ang 'yong hari--
He finally grew tired when Leo jumps up and sings in a purposely off-key voice. "AND AAAIIIIIII~~IAAYYYY~~ WILL ALWAYS LOOOVVEE YOUUUUUU!!!"
"OKAY, FINE!" he relented, slamming the pen down and closing the notebook in front of him. "I’ll go to bed, just please stop, you guys!"
"Yay!", Eri cheered.
"Good choice!", Annabeth beamed.
"You haven't been sleeping right back at your house", Nagisa observed. "You have really thick eyebags, do you know that?"
"Say what now."
"You'll get the chance to fill it tomorrow, Izuku", Roman grinned.
"Unless a burglar comes in", Bloody Rose piped.
"Now you're just making everything worse."
Shigemi bleated and jumped to him, giving him a kiss. "Come on, Shigemi! Hahaha!"
Valka watched the scene with fondness. They really are good kids. "Let's drink water first before going to bed, okay?"
"Okay!", they all complied and raced out.
Cloudjumper gave her a curious look. Valka just returned it with a happy smile.
😌
N
agisa found himself in a bedroom.
It isn't a traditional one, though. More like an open field bedroom.
If you can call it a room in the first place.
The bedroom is largely rectangular-shaped. The foyer is a Starry Night meadow with trees that reach the ceiling. It has a king sized bed with a black and beige comforter.
There was a bathroom, kitchen, and living room around, too. There was also infinite amounts of books in bookshelves that he could mistake as walls. Then, there were pictures around, too, but it was oddly blurry.
Nagisa wondered if this is one of those demigod dreams Percy talks about. He's a demigod himself, so it might be possible.
There was a purr behind him. He turned to see a Black cat staring at him. He crouched and put a hand on it.
"A cat...?", he asked himself as the cat rubbed itself onto him.
Something, or someone, bumped on him. He let out a high-pitched shriek.
"O-oh, I-I'm sorry! I didn't know someone else got here--"
The voice is awfully familiar.
He turned to see familiar soft Auburn Brown hair and Emerald Green eyes wearing a green sweater. His eyes bulged.
"HICCUP!?"
The brunette jumped and after a second, his eyes widened, too. "N-NAGISA!?"
Hiccup grabbed the bluenette's hands and cupped it together as he frantically asked questions. "W-what are you doing here? Did you die, too? How did you get here?"
The black cat purred again. Nagisa sweatdropped. "W-wait, let's settle down first."
And so they found themselves sitting on the king-sized bed. The cat left and headed it's way onto the kitchen.
They enjoyed the temporary silence.
Then Hiccup asked. "So, did you guys make it?"
Nagisa hummed. "Well, yes. The vikings got transfered onto the Hero universe. We got onto the portal just in time."
Hiccup nodded and flopped onto the bed. Nagisa followed suit.
"What is this place?", Nagisa asked.
"Hotel Valhalla. The paradise of fallen warriors or einherji in the service of Odin."
The bluenette pondered on the fallen part. "...so you really are dead."
"Hm."
Another round of comfortable silence continued.
Hiccup decided to drop the gun. "Is-...is everyone doing okay?"
The bluenette went rigid. The brunette frowned.
"...we weren't at first", Nagisa answered after a while. "We couldn't stop crying because we could have done something, anything, to save your life and we failed...!"
He sobbed. The brunette gave him a hug and he was suddenly surrounded by the familiar feeling of his calm, comforting aura.
"...but we decided that it wouldn't mean anything if we just mop around", Nagisa continued. "Izuku managed to cheer us up. We came to an agreement that we'll remember the lively times you were with us, instead of...you know."
Hiccup hummed. "I'm glad."
Everything began to become blurry to the bluenette and Nagisa began to internally panic. Not yet...not yet...!
The last thing he saw was the nostalgic sight of Hiccup's sweet smile. "Tell them to never give up, okay? That applies to you, too. Also, tell them I said hi."
Everything went white.
😨
Nagisa woke up drenched in sweat.
He clenched the blanket he covered himself in mourning and frustration.
"Tell them to never give up, okay? That applies to you, too. Also, tell them I said hi."
Before he even knew it, he was crying his eyes out.
