Thalia's POV
I acted out of pure anger when I shot the lightning bolt at the girl, but when I saw her change into that, that monster I froze and couldn't do anything under it's gaze. When it left with Autumn running as a streak through the camp as a Nemean lion I was relieved and then she turned into a wolf and started to advance on me, and I wanted to defend myself but knew that would have only made the anger worse and Artemis told me that I was lucky not to get attacked because even she was powerless against the girl in wolf form. Then it spoke deep, manacling, and protectively, it sounded unnatural but familiar from something I heard before and then it came to me just after lady Artemis was done speaking to me. That girl was the spawn of Lycaon, and she didn't know it, but Artemis told us that Lycaon was finally dead and we had nothing to worry about on him.
"Milady it spoke to me" I said flabbergasted and unable to spit it all out
"Of coarse it did, in your head using telepathy" she said looking behind her as she walked to our cabin
"No I mean it actually spoke to me milady, I thought only Lycaon and his spawn could do that?" I said "what aren't you telling us milady?" Artemis stiffened up about halfway and looked at the ground sighing.
"Yes they are" she said and the turned to us "I found her on a full moon and a half-dead Lycaon struggling to stay awake while his body and mind died, so I killed him, but I didn't have the heart to kill the young one, and now I cannot, so instead I wish to make her one of my own, one of us so that I can have her strength and powers on our side in all our battles, and if there was another war to come. I'm sorry I didn't tell you girls, but I couldn't otherwise you would've done the exact thing that Thalia did and you would try to kill her every time you saw her, or you would go hunting her on your own and maybe get yourselves killed" Artemis then walked away leaving us standing there in silence before everyone banded off from the group heading to family and friends who didn't treat us like crap here and going to the archery center with Artemis. I went to the Poseidon cabin wanting to apologize to her for zapping her with my electricity, but I stopped just at the border of her cabin while she stare at me with slight hate and slight confusion for what I was doing.
"I-I'm sorry for earlier" I said "I am not the best when it comes to pain and anger" expecting for her to turn away, ignore me, send me away, or go into her cabin to avoid me since she knew I wouldn't go in her territory, but she did none. She looked down and I swear that I saw a tear slip from her strange eyes as she looked to the floor.
"I understand" I heard her say and I was surprised "I lost my first father due to my own mistake, and my mother hasn't yet been avenged due to her death by a Hell-hound attack which I could've prevented and kept her safe from" she looked up with teary eyes, and I wanted to go over there and comfort her, so I did I crossed the line and sat down next to her on the stairs and I hugged her best I could in the awkward position.
"Maybe we both could go searching for the things that ruined our lives together someday" I said and she looked up at me with her sea-green eyes before hugging me, and her form flickered before what I saw peeled away like it wasn't there at all "whoa you can manipulate the mist" it was cool to say in the least and it was freaky that a child so young could do something so strange and powerful.
"Yeah one night I was really hungry and I screamed at a cashier to give me the doughnut I wanted and then seemed to go all glassy eyed and gave me a box-full, and the other people also seemed to be in a dazed state too as I walked out, and I made them sleep by saying it before I left and I was laughing all the way home as they all fell to the floor asleep in weird positions with a couple people's faces in their coffee, doughnuts, or doughnut boxes" I said "I practiced everyday to get people to do strange things and bullies to stop bullying people smaller or weaker than them by talking to them, eventually after a couple years I could make people do, say, and see what I wanted them to see with just my thoughts, and then I met Lyn and after two more years of seeing him every night, going for runs with him, training to become stronger for two years I let him change me and I killed him just by changing" her tears were gone now replaced by a thankful look "if he was still suffering as I slept in him I'm glad the lady's arrow killed him in his sleep so that he didn't have to die in the pain that I gave him"
She got up suddenly and went into her cabin before coming back with a frame in her hands and when she gave it to me I saw that it was the last of Artemis' arrows that she said she'd lost that night four years ago, and I took it and looked at it shining as if it weren't four years old "this is the last thing I have of Lyn and my mother to remember them, and that memory is all I have of a reminder of what and who I was, and when I have free time I go about saving demigods and people from evil and I am still looking for Lyn's pack, but I searched the world twice and couldn't find them, not even in hidden caves, underground, in dark and deep forests, or the skies, and I gave up after a half year searching" and then she quickly put it back and joined me on the stairs again.
I looked at her for the first time and I saw that she had golden lines surrounding her pupil like Kronos and it was unsettling, and they even swirled like the sands of time, her eye was sea-green with a silver circle in the middle of her eye matching the silver on the outside of her pupil and every so often I saw streaks of red like a werewolves eyes, and I realized how much she looked like milady and I was going to bring it up tonight after capture the flag.
"Hey do you want to go to the archery area with me and see who's better" I heard her say suddenly snapping me out of my thought about what to tell Artemis about this discovery
"Sure" I said and we headed for the archery area near the training arena.
Percy's POV
I was surprised that she actually dared to come into my territory but that emotion and anger went away as we bonded and told each-other about our hard lives and promises of revenge. I realized that she smelled exactly like the tree bordering our camp and I made the connection of my quest getting the fleece, reviving her, and not being there to see her run off to find the hunters and apparently join them.
"My name's Percy" I said after a while when we started to get close
"Mine's Thalia" she said putting out her hand and I took it as a peace and friendship connection and I knew then that I would join her and Artemis as soon as I ripped apart the hounds that ruined my life. I noticed her staring at my eyes and the way I walked and held myself, as well as the bracelets on my wrists and the muscles of my body that I didn't bother to hide now that everyone in camp saw and knew what I now was.
"What do you want me to put my glamour on again" I said not wanting to cause her any un-comfort as my fake image shimmered to view over my real body, and I had to adjust to the new build and it was uncomfortable to walk as this form.
"No, no I'm just thinking how beautiful your nature suits you (NOT A PERTHALIA THING) and I never realized how beautiful it makes you" I was surprised when she said this and I let the glamour fall and I walked with her in my normal form which was always slightly bent, I was seemingly walking on my toes all the time which made it easier for me to move and my cat-like build allowed that also, I walked straight and proud as a lioness in her pride, but I could get into a heavier, perfect defensive stance in a second if I needed to and I've found out that my raven-black hair which was now almost at the small of my back was naturally lined with silver, gold, and red from my blessings making up the person and thing I was now.
"Thank you, you have no idea how much it hurts to have to adjust to that strange way of walking and strange posture that I have no idea how the Hell it is comfortable for you" I said and she looked at me like I was crazy and she twirled as she walked.
"You mean you don't like this" she said as she twirled and walked and we both laughed until there was a thunk by our feet and my hand immediately went to hit the center of my chest under my collarbone and above my breasts where the shell was embedded into my skin, and armor appeared as I pulled my silver band along my arm and it transformed into a drawn bow with an arrow in-between my fingers attached to the string in the second it took for my armor to cover my body, which was in the blink of an eye. I saw a shoulder sticking out from a post in an archery lane and a foot also and I spread my fingers letting a second arrow appear and then I let go letting both soar three hundred meters in-front of us right into the foot and shoulder with a force that made the person hit the other lane separator and fall to the ground. I had a flashback of Luke falling to the floor after stabbing his armpit where his Styx curse was and killing himself and Kronos for the war. No one believed me after that and they stuck to their idea of him being a traitor till the end, and that only made me madder. I used my speed and had the person by the collar and I saw that she was unconscious from the pain, so I just let her lay there and waited for Thalia.
"I guess that I have anger problems too" I scoffed and we both did our archery pretending not to notice as the girl limped off the the infirmary to take care of her wounds.
