Blaine had kept Bas and I up most of the night, which meant all three of us were so tired. I woke up on the sofa. I've never seen anything like it, this is all because he's sick. So it's official, we have a sick baby in the house and poor Bas and I can barely keep our eyes open, but Blaine's asleep right now so we've been trying to go to sleep for the past 15 minutes. We soon fall asleep.
*That Night*
11:34pm is when Blaine woke up crying his heart out.
"Hey buddy, what's wrong? You have a nightmare?" I hear Sebastian coo through the monitor. I hear Sebastian shush him and see him rock him gently.
"Ok buddy, it's ok" he calms him down and soon he fell back asleep. The next time Blaine woke up was at 12:55.
"I'll go" I say to Sebastian as I get up and out of bed to go to his room.
"Can you not sleep well tonight, baby?" I coo as I get him out of his crib and see if he needed a change, which he did.
"Oh dear, is this why you're so fussy?"
"No wonder why" I change his dirty nappy and put him in a fresh one. I cuddle him for a bit before he fell back asleep again. I place him back in his crib and went back off to bed. Blaine woke up a few more times, which raised our suspicions even more.
"Bas, if his temperature gets any higher during the morning, we're gonna have to take him to the doctors" I explain as we were now downstairs, Sebastian making a bottle with medicine in it whilst I tried to settle Blaine down.
"Here, put him in his bouncer and put the vibration mode on" he says. I place Blaine in his bouncer seat and clip him in before turning on the vibration mode to his chair. Sebastian props Blaine's bottle up and we just wait for him to go to sleep. He soon goes to sleep and Bas and I pass out on the sofas.
*Night Over*
"Just check his temperature" I say to Bas as we finally got some sleep in a couple hours later.
"Sure" he gets the thermometer and comes back.
"Sorry bud" Sebastian says as he puts it in Blaine's ear, who whined until it beeped.
"It's not too bad, it's lower than it was before so that's good" he says.
"Ok, so maybe we're getting somewhere"
"Hopefully"
"Shall we try some breakfast?" Sebastian asks.
"Yeah, we'll try" I keep Blaine on my lap whilst Sebastian puts some oatmeal into a bowl before microwaving it.
"Here we are bud" Sebastian walks towards us whilst blowing on the oatmeal to cool it down a bit.
"Want some?" He coos as he puts a small spoonful near Blaine's mouth but he just whines and tries to turn around.
"Ok, baby" I soothe. Sebastian decides to eat Blaine's breakfast before taking Blaine off me so I could get my breakfast.
"Oh...and he's just been sick" Sebastian says.
"Oh gosh" I say as I quickly grab a cloth and wipe his mouth.
"It's ok baby" we soothe as he started to cry. We soon manage to calm him down and he sits on Sebastian's lap, looking very tired.
"He's tired" I say.
"I know, shall we try the bouncy chair, we don't really want to put him in anything that will upset his belly" Sebastian says.
"Yeah, put him in that for now, obviously don't rock him, but put the vibrations on again" I say. I hear Sebastian shuffle around and place Blaine in, but Blaine just started up crying.
"Nevermind" he sighs as he walks through with Blaine in his arms.
"Oh baby" I coo as I take him from Sebastian and go to the living room. I sit down and put him against my chest.
"Babe, pass me a couple blankets please, he's freezing" I say.
"That's what I thought" he says as he grabs a couple blankets.
"Here we go" he says as he wraps a bear blanket around him and a fluffy colourful one.
"There we are, keep you nice and warm" Bas says before kissing the back of his head. Blaine starts to doze off but he wakes up, I start to pat his back and Sebastian tries to give him a dummy, but he does this really sad cry.
"Aww, sweetheart" we coo.
"Shall we take him to the doctors?" I look at Sebastian, debating the idea.
"We could or shall we wait a little longer, like give him a bath and put him in some loose clothing or something, see if that can bring his temperature down" Bas suggests.
"Yeah, we'll do that then wait awhile to see how he goes" I agree. We take him up and Sebastian runs a bath while I get Blaine out of his pyjamas and nappy.
"Here we are bud" Sebastian takes him off me and places him in the tub. We give him a quick bath incase he threw up again, we get him out and wrap him up in a towel before lying him on his changing table where he tried to go to sleep so Bas and I decided to be quiet as we put a fresh nappy on and a short sleeve little dinosaur bodysuit.
"There we are baby" Sebastian kisses him before picking him up.
"He's so tired, I would put him in his pushchair but I feel like anything that will rock him, will upset his stomach even more" I explain to Bas.
"It probably will and we definitely don't want to do that" Sebastian agrees.
"Definitely, poor boy" I sigh. Later on, Blaine threw up a few more times and hardly slept so we decided to take him to the doctors. We place him in his car seat carrier and gave him his green round dummy to see if it would settle him a bit.
"Got the bag?"
"Check" we head out the door and into the car before making our way there. Sebastian sat in the back with Blaine, who for the first time that day, went to sleep.
"Babe, he's asleep" Bas chuckles.
"Really?"
"Yeah"
"Maybe that's what he needed, a car ride" we both chuckle.
"Yeah" we soon get there, head in and wait.
"I can't believe he slept the whole way" still trying to get over the fact that Blaine fell asleep in the car.
"I know" we soon get called in and sit down in the office.
"Hello again" Dr. Cole greets us.
"Hello"
"So, what's going on?"
"Well, Blaine's thrown up quite a few times, has hardly drunk anything or gone to sleep, this is the first time he's slept all day so we don't really want to disturb him" I explain as Blaine peacefully sleeps in his car seat that was sat on the floor.
"Ok, have you sterilised things like bottle teats and dummies?" He asks.
"No"
"Ok, they need to be sterilised as soon as you get home, now have you been giving him milk?"
"Yes but with medicine although he hasn't drunk much but thrown up a lot" Sebastian explains.
"Right, water is probably best and maybe give him medicine through a syringe rather than a bottle" he explains.
"Ok"
"He hasn't got any problems with his bowels or anything like that?"
"No, everything is perfectly fine"
"Ok, well I can't really do much except just letting it pass, try and warm him up slightly so he can try to sweat it out, it'll probably be uncomfortable but it's worth it" he explains.
"Ok thank you so much"
"No problem, obviously just leave him to sleep"
"Yeah, thank you, bye" we leave the doctors and head to the store quickly to get a steriliser.
"This one looks quite good, you can also put bottles in it, which might come in handy" I say as I show Sebastian a big steriliser to fit bottles, bottle lids and bottle teats in it.
"What about dummies?" He asks.
"We could always take a couple lids out?" I suggest.
"Or is it worth getting a smaller one as well?"
"Maybe, we'll get two then" I pass the small box to Sebastian as he had Blaine in one hand and the box was basically the same as the big one but smaller and without the lids.
We pay for the things and get a quick dinner on the way home whilst Blaine still slept, by the time we got home, Blaine woke up.
"Hello buddy" Sebastian coos as he gets him out.
"Want some water?" I coo as I go up to them with a baby bottle of water. Blaine drinks a little of it and then I gave him some medicine through a syringe.
"Poor little fella" I smile sadly at Blaine as he laid his head on Sebastian's shoulder.
"I know" he then randomly did his sad cry again.
"Oh baby" we coo.
"He's really not well" as soon as I said that, he threw up again and started to cry.
"Ok baby" we soothe as I carefully take his bodysuit off as Sebastian held him. We take him upstairs and run him another bath before placing him in there. I quickly wash him so we could put him back into a fresh nappy, I soon get him out, dry him off, put a fresh nappy on him and then slip on a plain grey short sleeve shirt and some grey and white stripe ankle socks.
"Come on, let's go cuddle" I say as we head downstairs. I sit on the sofa and hold him to my chest like I did earlier on and Sebastian wrapped the two blankets around him. I start to pat his back and he dozes in and out of sleep.
"I just hope none of us get whatever he has" Sebastian sighs.
"Me too" just as Blaine had fallen asleep, my phone rang, waking Blaine up in the process.
"Really?" I sigh.
"Can you just take that please?" I ask Sebastian as I didn't want to move and I couldn't reach anyway.
"Sure, it's San" he says as he looks at it before answering it.
"It's ok baby, go back to sleep" I whisper as I continue to pat his back.
"She wants come over but I told her Blaine's not well" Sebastian explains once he hung up.
"Yeah, bad timing" I chuckle a little.
"Did you want me to grab anything for him?" Bas asks.
"Maybe a couple of his cloths and a dummy perhaps, please" I ask.
"Sure" Sebastian runs up and comes back down a few seconds later with Blaine's 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' muslin cloths and a plain blue dummy.
"Thanks" I put the dummy in Blaine's mouth and then put the cloths close by to him and he instantly fell asleep.
"Aww" Sebastian coos whilst taking a picture.
"Ok ok" I chuckle at him.
"Shall we move his portable crib into our room later? It's probably best to keep an eye out" Sebastian says.
"Yeah, I'll put him down in a sec once I know he's properly settled and we'll go set it up in our room" a few minutes later, we soon head up after a I had put Blaine down in his bouncer. We quickly set it up his blue portable crib that had little elephants on the end just incase Blaine did wake up at some point before heading back down.
"I'm gonna go start dinner" I say to Bas as I kiss him on the cheek before heading into the kitchen. It was a little while later when Blaine woke up again.
"Hey buddy, have a nice sleep?" I hear Sebastian coo.
"Shall we go get you some more medicine and water?" He coos. I make a sippy cup of water and get some medicine into a syringe so it was ready.
"Thanks babe" he kisses me once he came through.
"No problem"
"Ready baby" he coos as he puts the syringe into Blaine's mouth, who then pulls a face.
"I think he's getting a bit better, he didn't pull a face on the last one" I noticed.
"Water?" Sebastian coos as he shows him the sippy cup and Blaine goes to grab it.
"Ohhh, someone is feeling a little better" Sebastian kisses his cheek.
"And he has some colour to his cheeks as well"
"Yeah, definitely"
"Do you think he could have some food?" Bas asks.
"I don't know, I'd say give it 24 hours and then give him some food because he might have colour back in his cheeks and everything but how do we know that he's just going to throw it up again, he might just have to stick with water and maybe a tiny bit of milk for now" I explain to him.
"Yeah, I suppose it's probably best" I soon cook dinner and we keep Blaine close by, by sticking him in his bouncy chair again and putting him by us with a water bottle and some toys. As soon as we started to eat, he started crying again.
"Do you think it's because he can see us eat?" Bas asks.
"Probably, you eat yours and I'll play with him for a bit, if he's up to it that is" Sebastian says as he gets up and gets Blaine out.
"Come on, bud" he says as he takes Blaine through to the living room. I eat my dinner and then swap with Sebastian, it soon got to Blaine's bedtime so we take him up, change his nappy and put him into a long sleeve stripe vest and some footed striped trousers.
"All ready for bed" Sebastian kisses him before taking him to the rocking chair. He sits quietly with him whilst Blaine drank a small bottle of milk.
He soon fell asleep so we took him too our room and Sebastian laid him down in his crib. We get ready for bed ourselves as quietly as we could and go into bed.
"Oh, what an eventful day" I whisper.
"I know, but we can see he's getting better, let's just see how he goes tonight" Sebastian says.
"I know, I love you" I kiss him.
"I love you too" he kisses me back. We soon fall asleep snuggled into each other's arms.
