Chapter 9
"You're a fucking idiot, I can't believe you," I yell at Seth as I wipe the rain from my eyes, probably messing up my mascara and eyeliner in the process. My clothes are soaking wet and I can feel my body shivering a bit already. It's definitely not good to stand in the rain with only a dress on.
"Ellie, baby, please listen to me," Seth pleads. "I didn't mean to do that, I swear!"
"Oh, so you thought it would be normal to punch some guy who was just dancing me and then pretty much call me a slut?" I angrily mutter, pulling my arm from Seth's grip. "I don't even want to look at you right now, you disgust me." I finish my speech and turn away from Seth, stomping away angrily.
I don't have a clue where I'm going right now but all I can say is that I never want to see Seth Lee again, no matter what he does. I thought he's a nice guy but he turns out to be just like the rest: an asshole. That's all he'll ever be.
3 hours earlier.
"Ella, come on!" Kelly whines, pulling my arm. For the past hour she has been trying to get me to go to this party happening at Jason's house but I'm not the party type. I've heard so many stories about how the girl always ends up getting almost raped and someone will get so wasted the entire house will be filled with puke. I'm definitely not in the mood to see that. "What do I have to do to make you come with me?" Kelly sighs and I grin.
"If I come will you shut up?" I ask and Kelly immediately squeals. She starts going through my closet in two seconds and throws different dresses and skirts onto my bed, in hopes that she will find the perfect one. I look at the tiny pieces of fabric on my duvet and cringe as I think about the time I bought all those dresses. Never in my life have I worn them though. As you can imagine, I'm not really the party type as I've never been to one in my life.
"This is perfect!" She announces and brings out a black sequinned dress from the back of my closet. My mother bought it for me about two years ago, thinking I might need it. Obviously I never wore it, until tonight. To finish the outfit, Kelly gives me a pair of high heels and then starts on my makeup and hair.
After forty minutes of pulling, slapping and yelling, she's done. She turns me around and I look into the mirror, gasping. The girl sitting in the chair looks gorgeous. My hair is curled in small waves and Kelly has applied a light amount of makeup onto my face, making me look prettier than before but no like the girls in my school who cake on makeup.
"You look gorgeous," Kelly gushes and hands me the dress. "Now put this on, tiger, and we're ready to go." I roll my eyes and put the dress on in the bathroom. It hugs all of my curves perfectly, making me look better than I normally look. I slip on the pair of heels and step out of the bathroom. Kelly gives me one final look and smiles. We walk downstairs and see River standing at the door. He looks at us and I can see clearly he doesn't approve my clothing.
"Where are you going dressed like that?" He asks.
"We're going to Jason's party," Kelly giggles. "Everybody is invited so we thought we might as well go too." She opens the door before River can say anything else and we walk down the street. As we're walking I realize that it was a bad idea to come outside without a jacket. Even though it was early September, the nights were still a bit chilly and I'm not in the mood to freeze to death.
Shortly we reach Jason's house and it looks like the party has been going on for a couple of house. The front yard in completely trashed with a large amount of red cups and people are dancing with minimal clothes on and cigarette buns are everywhere on the ground. I cringe as I see many people making out and groping each other like they're at a porn scene. Kelly laughs at my face and we walk towards the house.
It's even crazier inside. Music is blasting on full volume, people are jumping around, there are drinks everywhere and the house is literally packed with people. I can't imagine why anybody would want to have something like this happening in their house. I look around for a second and once I turn my head back to Kelly, I see her holding two red cups which have a brown liquid in them.
"It's Cola with rum," She yells and hands me the cup. "I'm going dancing, you can do whatever you want. " I nod my head and walk towards the kitchen, where not a lot of people are. I put the cup on the kitchen counter and grab a bottle of water from the fridge. As I lean against the counter, I see a guy walking into the kitchen. He looks a bit older than everybody here and I can't help but look at him a little longer than I intended.
"Enjoying the view?" The guy chuckles and I blush, looking down at the ground. He takes a few steps closer to me and lifts my chin. "Hey, don't be embarrassed. I'm honored a beautiful girl like you would look at me," He smiles and I feel myself melt on the inside.
"I'm Austin," He says and stretches out his hand for me to shake. I grab his hand and shake it, "Ella."
"Beautiful name," He comments and I once again find myself blushing. "Do you want to dance?" He suddenly asks and I nod. He takes my hand in his and we walk to the dance floor where many people are grinding against each other, making out, twerking and other disgusting things. Austin wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me closer as we slowly move to the music. I place my head on Austin's chest and he pulls me even closer to his body.
"I can feel your heartbeat," I mumble to him. He chuckles and his whole body vibrates, making me laugh too. Before I have a chance to make a comment about that, Austin is being ripped away from me and I see Seth glaring at him.
"Back the fuck off, she's mine."
Austin raises his hands in a surrender position and Seth lets go of me, turning back to me. "You're out of my sight for two seconds and I already see you flirting with some guy. He's like thirty for crying out loud." He yells and I frown. Seth has never acted this way towards me and I don't like this at all.
"Mate, I'm actually twenty." Austin says, cutting into our conversation.
"And she's seventeen. You don't need to be perving on underage girls!" Seth yells and I see him clenching his fists.
"It looks as if she's not interested in you either," Austin chuckles and that's when Seth loses it. He jumps at Austin and punches him straight in the face. I hear a small crack, meaning Seth probably broke Austin's nose.
"Seth, stop!" I yell and try to pull him away from his shoulders but he doesn't move a muscle. He keeps throwing punches at Austin and people around us are just yelling 'Fight! Fight! Fight! Fight!' and not bothering to break them up. Suddenly Austin flips Seth over and manages to throw a couple of punches at him. It's obvious Austin is stronger as I see Seth's face getting more swollen by the second.
Once again the guys turn over and Seth lets all of his anger out by kicking Austin in the stomach and ribs and more in the face. By now the music is turned off and everybody has gathered around us, looking at the two guys fighting.
"Seth! Stop!" I yell as loud as I can and Seth freezes, his fist up in the air. He turns over to me and I see his blood covered face. His eyes are a shade darker and his breathing is uneven. Blood is covering his knuckles and some is even dripping down his face.
"Ellie..." He whispers. People are staring between me and him, no one saying a word. I turn around and run out of the house as quickly as I can, Seth footsteps following me. Once I get out of the house I run straight across the street to the small park. The tears keep flowing down my face as I try to run as fast as I can in these high heels. It's no surprise Seth catches me in a few seconds.
"Slow down, kitten." Seth hollers, grabbing my arm. The rain is pouring down from the sky, making both Seth and I completely wet. The dress I'm wearing clings onto my body and I suddenly feel very undressed in front of him.
"I have nothing to say to you. You had no right to just punch Austin, we were dancing. I bet you were busy sucking girls faces to even notice I was at the party," I murmur, making Seth furrow his eyebrows.
"Oh, so you're on a first name basis with him? Did he introduce his tongue to yours as well?"

I look back at Seth for last final time. He's standing in the middle of the park, staring after me and looking heartbroken. I can't help but feel pain in my chest but I manage to hide it. Once I reach Jason's house again I see Austin waiting in front of the house. When he sees me, he smiles and rushes over to me.
"Are you okay? I hope that dick didn't hurt you."
"No, he didn't." I mumble. "Can we please just leave?"
"Sure." Austin smiles at me. We sit in his car and slowly start driving away. I see Seth across the road, staring at my, his eyes wide. He looks like he's trying to say something again, but before he has the chance to do so, I show him my middle finger and Austin drives away.
