Sasuke POV
I jumped from the roof and landed infront of the Hokage Tower. I walked in and went straight to the Hokages office.
I knocked once and walked in. I was tired from my journey and I wanted to see my family. I really thought I would take less time but I ended up taking more then it should have, 1 year and 5 months.
I wrote to My Hime when I could but it was mostly impossible to stay undercover and stay in contact.
I missed Hinata to much, I'm still debating if that's a good thing in the first place. As a Ninja we go out unsure if we will comeback, unsure if there will be a body to present to family.
Now that I have a family to protect, I'd rather die than lose them.
Once I walked in I saw Kakashi in his chair and someone snoring I took a glance at the body laying all awkward in the small chair infront of the Hokages desk.
Naruto had saliva running down his chin, he looked worse then Kakashi. You could plainly see the bags under his eyes. Even with the dim lighting in the room. I turned back to Kakashi who had leaned back with a big sigh and closed his eyes.
"You gave us all a scare Sasuke! Jugo and Suigetsu came back 5 months ago and all they told us was that they lost you, but that you had made them promise to guard Hinata and the kids until you came back!! Why wasn't I informed?! You have no idea how much a pain in the ass the council has been. They were dead set on saying that you had betrayed us once again!"
I stared at Kakashi and sighed, I actually hadn't thought about that. Of course the council would think I was going to betray them again. They still don't trust me. Not that I blame them, but before I could say anything the door flew open and Hinata ran in and straight to me. I felt someone watching me since I arrived but I ignored it. I really doubted she would be awake at 2am.
I almost fell from the impact but I hugged her non the less. I brought her close to me as she cried on my chest. I could feel her arms tighten as much as they could around my waist and her hands grab fist fulls of my pancho I was wearing.
This felt right having her in my arms felt right. This is why I will do anything to protect her and my children.
I stayed still until her cries and sobs tired out slowly. I rubbed her back but I said nothing. My throat felt to scratchy from not drinking or eating in 5 days. I pushed myself to the max to arrive quickly.
I felt Hinata relax slowly, and I dreaded to see her face. I know I hurt her for being gone for so long. If she were a different person she wouldn't forgive me and possibly hate me for being gone for the most important time of my children's lives.
I just hope she understands that I do this to keep them safe. If I protect the village, then I'm creating a safe haven for my children to grown and be happy along with this woman that is currently debating if it's safe to let go of me.
I felt myself smile after more then a Year of not letting anyone see a single emotion I'm only in the presence of this woman, and I feel like laughing and smiling all at once.
She leaned back and after so long my eyes connected to her pale Lavender eyes. My eyes darted from her eyes to her lips to her cheeks her hair she had in a high ponytail, it was still long I wonder how much longer she has it now or has she cut it!?
I loved her long hair, I brought my hand up and grabbed a loose strand. I saw her chest pick up speed and her breathing coming faster. I looked back at her eyes and kept my eyes on her.
"I'm home Hime!"
Her eyes filled with tears once again and even though I hated it, I know they are happy and relieved tears that are falling.
I stared as each crystal tear fell and ran down her cheeks. She quickly wiped them with her hands and she smiled brightly at me.
I felt my breathing stop, I missed that smile, that single smile brightens up everything in me, specially my heart.
"Welcome home Anata!"
I missed this, this happiness I felt just being in her presence. I let the strand of hair go and brought my hand to her cheek and I felt her sigh and lean her face closer to my hand.
She looked tired and I wonder if it's from our kids or from worrying about me. I winced I hope it wasn't the later, I heard a throat clear and a slap on my back I turned and eyes Naruto who was smiling but looked more tired than even me.
"Welcome back Teme!!"
His voice was scratchy, his eyes were hooded from tiredness, he didn't scream it but you could still see relief in his features.
"Dobe you look like hell!"
Naruto scratched his head and then frowned. He turned and narrowed his eyes at me, I stared back at him unbothered but that seemed to piss him of even more.
"DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW WORRIED WE WERE!!!YOU CANT JUST STOP COMMUNICATING WITH US!!"
"Naruto don't scream my head hurts! It must have been something important!"
I looked at Kakashi who was staring at the ceiling. Naruto threw a death glare at me and then sighed and just sat back down.
"Teme we were just really worried!"
"I know!"
I nodded at Naruto and he sent me a smile and nodded once. I felt Hinatas lean against me and sigh. I looked at Kakashi who stood up and closed the blinds behind him.
I turned to Hinata and brought infront of me. She smiled at me and was about to lean up to me again but I stopped her.
I activated my Sharingan, her eyes widened before she could look away I caught her, and in seconds her eyes closed and her body fell forwards.
I caught her and lifted her body in a bridal position. I cradled her body and brought her closer to me. Naruto got up from his chair and let me have it. I accepted the offer and sat with My hime in my arms.
Naruto got another seat and sat next to me. They both faced me and I finally sighed and hunched my shoulders.
"I found out that many people have seen sightings of....."
I looked away from them and looked at Hinata, Her lips were parted and she had a serene face while she slept soundly.
I turned back and stared at Kakashi.
"...Itachi!"
"WHA-."
"I thought so I just recently heard about that Yesterday an Anbu heard said rumor! What did you find out?"
I looked towards Naruto who had a worried look on his face.
"I'm not sure what to make of it but...... the possibility of him being alive is still there! I....I'm not sure if it true! I followed best I could but once I got to a dead end I.... I'm not sure what to do! I just thought it he best if I came back!"
"But from what you observed could it be Itachi!"
I looked at Naruto and shrugged.
"I'm not sure... I detected no Chakra signature... nothing!"
I looked away and stared at the wall.
The probability of him being alive is 70/30 he was more then dead, but I didn't stay to make sure he was completely dead! I just thought since there was no pulse he would be dead.
But now... now I'm replaying that day over and over. I'm not sure if it's to convince myself that he is dead,.. or to try and remember some sort of clue.
"I'm not sure Sasuke but the 5 Kages are arranging a meeting soon! Kakashi so this is what the meeting will be about!?"
Kakashi only nodded when I looked at him. His elbows where on the desk, he had his hands clasped and his chin leaning on them with his eye closed.
I looked at Hinata when she moved a little and snuggled closer to me. I smiled at her features, how did she become even more Beautiful!?
"Sasuke go home! I will talk to you tomorrow go rest up spend time with your family! My grandsons are so much like you!"
I felt my eyebrow lift and Grandsons? Hmm well I guess he is like a grandfather to my kids.
"Ahh well I'm going home also! Sakuras probably waiting with a frying pan!"
I smiled at my dumbass of a friend. He stood up stretched and patted my back while walking away.
"See ya!"
I heard the door close and I turned serious to Kakashi.
"Why didn't you inform me that more then a year ago Hinata and my sons were attacked! I had to find out from a fcking Sand Ninja!!"
I felt my Sharingan spinning, this all just pissed me off again! Why wasn't I informed!?
"Sa-."
"I'm out there doing everything I can to protect this fcking village! The least you can do is inform me when my family is in danger!"
"Sasuke calm down! Everything was under control, we-."
"I don't Care Kakashi! I want no excuses! To hell with every mission! My family comes first! If anything even a single threat written on paper from some anonymous person to my family is not told to me, I will make everyone pay!"
I kept my gaze on him and stood up slowly and walked away. I opened the door and walked out not bothering to close it I wouldn't want to drop my Hime.
I walked away and outside in the cold air. It was spring when I left and now it's summer when I come back.
"I'm sorry Hime! I failed you and my kids!"
I looked away and jumped into the rooftops all the way home. Once I landed on the last building I walked towards the Uchiha compound.
The stars were twinkling and the moon was the only light.
"Sas..uke."
I smiled and looked at Hinata. My beautiful Wife.
I honestly was going to do this chapter with Hinata missing Sasuke and how the boys have grown! But I think it would have been to depressing and I'm not all for it so instead I brought our Sasuke back 💖😭💖
