Jonathan's POV
I froze in my spot as soon as the question came out.
"What?" I asked.
"Yesterday. You dragged me upstairs and bite me. Why?" She asked.
"Um... I didn't."
"Yeah, you did."
"No. I think I'd remember if I did."
"Now look who's not telling the truth." She crossed her arms over her chest.
"I swear, I didn't."
"Wow. First, you tell me that I can tell you anything, but you don't even tell me anything."
"No. I swear it's not that."
"Then tell me why you bit me."
I sighed in defeat. "I-I marked you."
"What!? And you had to bite me for that!? Couldn't you mark me another way, like some secret handshake or something!" She yelled.
"No. there was no other way to mark you."
"What is the purpose of marking anyway."
"I-I can't tell you."
"And why not?" She asked annoyed.
"You'll hate me! More than you do now!" I said
"I don't hate you. At most I am annoyed with you." She admitted.
"That's not any better." I whined.
"Then what's the harm in telling me."
I was about to respond until I saw the mark on her neck.
It had finished healing and my pack mark was on her neck.
I wide smirk took its place on my face.
"What are you smirking about?" Rosie snapped.
"You'll see."
"What the hell does that mean?"
"Go look in a mirror."
"I'm not going anywhere until you tell me why you bit me!" She shouted.
"Then I guess you're going to stay in that spot because I'm not saying anything."
She gave me a death glare and walked away.
'Good going genius. Now she's mad at us!' My wolf yelled at me.
'She'll be even more mad if she finds out why we marked her!'
'I hate this!' He complained.
'And you think I don't! I hate seeing her like this.'
'That's it! I'm taking control!"
Rafael's POV
I growled as I followed the scent of my mate.
It led me to her bedroom.
I didn't even bother knocking, I just bursted through the door.
She was reading her book on the bed.
As soon as I walked in she glared at me.
"What do you want?" She snapped.
I closed the door behind me and walked in.
"Listen to me!" I growled as I sat down next to her.
"Why should I?"
I growled as I felt my eyes change color.
Her eyebrows creased. "You're not Jonathan."
I smirked. "No baby, I'm not."
"Ok, well what do you want?"
She kept trying to act tough but I could hear her heart racing.
'Stop it! She's scared!' Jonathan yelled at me but I ignored him.
"I want you to understand why I marked you," I said.
"How can I when you won't give me an explanation?" She crossed her arms over her chest.
"I will explain. just not now."
She scoffed. "Typical."
"What is that supposed to mean?"
"Oh nothing." She shrugged.
"It's obviously something."
"You never tell me anything." She said. "You always tell me'"You can talk to me. I'm always here for you. You can tell me anything.' But you never talk to me."
"I have my reasons."
"Yeah, and I have my reasons to not talk to you. When I don't tell you, you get mad."
"That's different, Cupcake."
"How!?" She yelled. "I barely know anything about you! You don't tell me anything! And yet I let myself get seduced by you!"
She tried to slap me but I grabbed her hand in mid-air.
I growled as I grabbed her other wrist.
I pinned her down on the bed and hovered above her.
I kept her hands pinned down above her head.
"Don't. Even. Try it." I glared. "I am not Jonathan. I will not let myself get hit."
"But you're just as stupid as him."
Before I could ask what that meant I felt a sharp pain in my area.
I groaned in pain but refused to let her go when she struggled to get out of my grip.
"You were saying?" I smirked as I recovered from the pain.
"You are more annoying, I'll give you that." She said.
"That's because I'm his wolf. I care more about you than he does."
'That's not true!' Jonathan yelled but once again I ignored him.
"You won't tell me anything either. I hate you."
My expression softened. "Why?"
"I barely know you. All I know is your name and your sister but I don't know anything else. You seduced me and I let you! I hate myself for that too." She mumbled the last part.
"You don't hate me. You're just upset."
"How do you know?"
"Because only I know true hate."
"How?"
I sighed and let her go.
I sat down next to her as I gave Jonathan back control.
'It's time to tell her.' I told him.
Rosie's POV
He stayed silent as I saw his eyes go back to normal.
"Jonathan? Is that you now?" I asked.
He slowly nodded.
"Are you ok?" I asked.
He hesitated but shook his head 'no.'
"Is it because of what I said?"
He shook his head again.
"It's time I told you something."
"Look, I didn't mean to force you to talk to me. I was just--"
"No." He cut me off. "I'm telling you because I want to."
"Well, I'm listening. and I won't interrupt."
"Do you know why I hate Wyatt and his pack?"
"My mother wanted me to marry him? Is he annoying? That's enough for me to hate him."
"Those are only two reasons."
I stayed silent and waited for him to continue.
"It's not what Wyatt did, It's what his parents did." He said.
He looked so broken. He seemed like he was about to break down.
"They killed my parents." He let out a shaky breath.
My eyes widened as I let out a small gasp.
He continued. "It happened when I was ten years old. Me and Wyatt were forced to befriend because our parents were friends at the time. My sister was supposed to be the next alpha but she didn't want the pressure of being Alpha so the title was going to be passed down to me after my first shift."
He let out another shaky breath. "My pack was growing larger every day, under my parents command. And as our pack grew we soon became the largest and most feared pack in the world.
Wyatt's parents became jealous of our power. They soon found out that centuries before our packs used to be one until my great ancestor took over the entire pack.
The story goes, my ancestor and Wyatt's ancestor were twin brothers, But they were always fighting over who would take over the pack.
When the time came when they shifted their fighting only grew worse. Their parents never picked sides so they thought that their sons would be able to decide.
But they were wrong. They fought in wolf form until near death. My ancestor won the pack, but his brother was able to break off from the pack and he created his own pack.
Our packs have been fighting ever since. Once Wyatt's Parents found out they kept trying to take over our pack but always failed.
Wyatt's mom got caught in a shooting during a gang war and dies. Wyatt's dad blamed my parents and killed them in front of me and Stephany.
Wyatt's dad said he wanted a peace treaty but it was a trap from my family. He locked us up and tortured us. after he got bored he killed off my parents. After that, me and Stephany managed to escape.
I had to take over the pack before I shifted. At age 13. Stephany was broken for years after that. I barely managed to bring her back.
But we can never get that memory of our parents screams out of our heads."
Tears were rolling down his face.
I've never seen him so broken.
I grabbed him and pulled him into a hug.
"I'm sorry. No one deserves to go through what you did." I spoke.
He wrapped his arms around me and buried his face in my neck.
"You're all I have." He said.
