Warm tears slide down my cheeks on a bleak and silent evening.
Turning to ice as they fall through the air.
The tears are not shed for selfishness and greed,
they are shed for the ones who truly cannot escape.
They are shed for the ones who have no place to go, who know their fate and know how it'll end.
They are shed for the blood, the sweat, the dirt, and the tears that are also being shed in that same moment.
They are shed to remind them that there are people watching out for them.
Two tears shed in unison,
two hearts bonded in sorrow.
I cannot promise the world to get better anytime soon.
But if I can ease the hurting at any moment of my life, I will attempt to do so with nothing left to give as a result.
