Serena's POV:
"Serena! Haven't I told you NOT to come out of your room? I don't care if you're just 2 months pregnant! You could harm both yourself AND the kid! Understand?!", Mom yelled at me yet again and that moment, I lost it. I've been patient for WAY too long, and mom hadn't yelled at me so much for all these years COMBINED.
"Or WHAT?", I yelled unable to take her yelling and she came in front of my door in a jiffy glaring again.
"Don't you DARE raise your voice at me, young lady", she threatened pointing her finger at me.
"What is WRONG with you? Why do you keep yelling at me again and again? What have I done that has made you SO MAJORLY upset? You weren't like this when I told you that I was pregnant and you seemed unperturbed when I told you that I slept with Ash. If you don't want me around, just LET ME KNOW!! I'll be out of your hair at the break of dawn tomorrow", I told her tears flowing freely down my face, as I couldn't comprehend feeling such hate towards the person I love most in the world, in a non-romantic way. This seemed to upset her and she took a seat near me staring at the floor.
"I...I..don't...what?", she faltered and I grew worried that instant. Was my mother alright?
"What do you mean? Talk to me!!", I pressed shaking her by the shoulders and she looked at my eyes.
"Well, I...When I was in the same situation as you are....nobody was there for me and not a single soul BOTHERED to even see if I existed. Seeing you like this reminds me of myself and it brings back all that built up anger in me, Serena. I don't know why, but I.....I just can't control it and I've become like an old drunkard yelling at her kids. I try, Serena! I try NOT to yell at you, but each time I look at you, it's like seeing a blonde version of myself, my life replaying itself right in front of my eyes, and I don't want it to be that horrible again. I'm so sorry, honey", she apologized to me and buried her face in her hands and began to sob. I knew my mom didn't have a smooth journey, but I didn't expect her to have stood on her own legs the WHOLE time. I had seen my mom sad before, I've seen her cry hysterically, but never this vulnerable.
"I'm just worried that I'll go crazy and do the same thing my mom did to me all those years ago. I....I don't want you to leave me, and neither do I want to do anything so stupid", she sobbed and I brought her into a tight hug.
"You're not getting rid of me THAT easily, mum. I love you WAY too much to allow that to happen", I whispered in her ear and she giggled lightly, and I felt the usual warmth in her hug which was missing for the past week. Out of the blue, Fletchinder joined us in the group hug chirping happily.
"Come over here, you silly bird!!", mom called him and tightened her grip around him causing him to nibble on her ear affectionately, and it was the first time in many days did I hear my mom's river-clear laughter.
Ash's POV:
I asked Garchomp to fly around to face the robotic Beedrills, and I noticed that their eyes began to glimmer in some pattern which I couldn't decode.
Then they charged at me and I asked Garchomp to fire a charged Hyper Beam at the swarm. Most of them exploded but they released some toxic gas. I immediately maneuvered away from the course of the gas to get Garchomp to safety.
But a few Beedrills escaped and caught me off my guard and one of them accidentally brought my gas mask down, and one Beedrill shot the gas straight into my face and the world suddenly began to turn around on its own.
"Garchomp, finish the remaining....off, and get to the nearest.....ground", I wheezed as I felt the gas take its effect already. He made short work of the remaining robots and we were lucky enough to find a small island close by and landed on it.
The second we landed, I gave Garchomp my shotgun and he gave me a quizzical look.
"Get out of here as soon as possible, Garchomp, and take all our friends with you. I've inhaled some of that gas and I don't know the side effects of the gas. Remember the pasture land in Nuvema Town? Stay there for a while, and send a few guys near Serena's home. Don't let her or Grace know that you guys are there. They'll freak out otherwise. Do you follow me? Once I know where I will be, what are the place's weaknesses, I'll let you guys know. TRUST ME, you guys will know at the right time", I told him panting and he nodded his head, took my shotgun and flew away.
I felt my heart beat grow weaker, and I found it difficult to breathe. Suddenly, I saw 2 shadows in front of me positioned such that two people were behind me.
"Not so nice to be on the receiving end of such attacks, am I right, Mr. Ketchum?", one guy said and I turned around to see the smirking face of Ghetsis, and the killer glare of Colress who brought down a large club to my temple, and a wave of darkness took over.
Time Skip
The second I regained consciousness, I looked around and I saw myself in a prison. This one however, didn't look like a usual prison - it looked more secluded, more torture-friendly.
"Look who just got up! Good morning, sleepyhead!! You've slept for 6 days STRAIGHT. Too busy?", Ghetsis asked me mockingly, while Colress was busy checking his tab, not even bothering to look at me in the eye.
"Look! I'll strike a deal with you", Ghetsis told me and got up from his seat.
"Are you SERIOUS, Ghetsis? He killed my daughters and you are planning to strike a DEAL with him?", Colress argued and Ghetsis simply gave him a I'll-handle-it look.
"I can feel your pain, my friend. I too have 2 daughters", he told Colress who simply waved his hand in impatience.
"They are adopted, Ghetsis. I brought my daughters into the world, and they meant the world to me. They reminded me so much of Janice", he trailed and Ghetsis rolled his eyes meaning that it was an often heard tale. After a few minutes of ranting, Ghetsis began to ignore Colress and diverted his attention to me.
"Just tell me where you've hidden your Pokemon, and I'll give you a painless death.....I promise", he told me placing his hands over his heart, and I snorted in return.
"Or perhaps would you like me to pay a visit to your....family?", he asked me typically.
"What is with you guys and threatening families? Too scared to take on a guy head on? Afraid you'll get your butt kicked publicly?", I taunted him and his expression hardened.
"I'm being civil around you, boy. Don't bring out the evil in me. Trust me, it's not a good side! Look, you're dead meat. You're dead either way, so do yourself a favour and take the painless death. I promise, I'll take good care of your Pokemon. Your girlfriend, her mom and your kid will live good lives, yada yada yada", he told me pulling me towards him by my hair. The only thing separating us being the rails of the prison. If there's one thing I've learnt in this whole decade, it's not to trust these guys no matter HOW tantalizing their offers may sound. It may seem sweet at the beginning, but the hidden poison shows its power only after it can't be revoked.
"Why don't you shove that offer so far up your boyfriend's a** that it comes out of his mouth?", I asked him smirking and the two of them just pursed their lips. Ghetsis let go of me and whispered something in Colress' ear causing him to smile deviously.
"I do hope you'll enjoy staying with us, boy. Be good enough, and I'll bring in a few guests once in a while for certain types of......entertainment", he told me and left the room. Colress made his way towards my cell.
"You took away the two pearls of my eyes, Ketchum! My daughters were the only memory I had of my dear wife and you've taken them away from me", he told me shaking and I simply glared at him.
"Nice to know that we are in the same club. The only difference being that I took your daughters, while you took my mom. If you do a good deed, you get one in return, but if you commit a crime, it comes back twice as strong. Doesn't feel so fuzzy from the receiving end, does it?", I countered and he just stomped away cursing in some colourful language.
"I want him tortured SO HORRIBLY, that he'll be willing to pay me a MILLION POKEDOLLARS TO GRANT HIM DEATH!!", Colress thundered.
An hour or so later, a few Plasma grunts came in with wierd weapons possibly in an attempt to torture me. Well, this was going to be a long time, here.
6 Months Later
Thus, yet another day, yet another failed attempt to torture me, and I finally managed to find out blind times, weak points and vulnerable guards.
"Time for another day of PAIN!!", a grunt came in and I rolled my eyes.
"Your "day of PAIN" is my everyday warmup, idiot. Use this time to think of other ways to torture me. Even I'm getting bored", I taunted and his face grew purple. I successfully managed to divert his concentration, and while he was cursing me, I managed to steal the keys to my cell and effectively knocked him out by hitting his temple with my elbow.
The coast was clear to prepare my escape route, and I sat down on the floor beginning to concentrate. A minute later, parts of the cell turned a bright shade of blue which meant that I had found him telepathically - my Greninja, and I could feel the thirst of the rest of my Pokemon by our connection at the same time. Colress did complain about missing his wife and daughter, so why don't I help him out? Ghetsis could give him some company too couldn't he?
