Mike sat in the back of the police car, smirking at the officer driving.
"What's your name, kid?"
"What's yours?" He retorted.
The officer glared at him through the mirror.
"Sheriff Urie. You're gonna tell me your name."
Mike shrugged.
"Dirnt, Mike." He said, making himself comfortable.
He raised his eyebrow at the officer.
"You look young. Wouldn't you rather be out partying?"
"No. My job is to make sure stupid kids like you don't get kidnapped."
"Aye, man. I told you.." Mike said, shaking his head and smiling. "I was thirsty, so I went to get a coke."
"Where do you live?"
"I can't tell you that."
They got to the police station and the sheriff searched through Mike's records, and called Reggie.
"You'll come get him?" Officer Urie asked through the phone, putting his hand on his belt.
"...okay. I'll see you here."
Mike's eyes widened as Reggie's red pickup truck pulled up shortly after the officer hung up.
"Fuck." He said to himself.
The officer uncuffed Mike, and Reggie shook The officer's hand.
"Thank you, officer. I'll make sure he doesn't go out past nine."
Reggie grasped Mike's wrist, tightening his grip as he walked to the car.
"Where the fuck have you been?"
Mike sat in the passenger seat, his heart beating rapidly.
They pulled out of the station parking lot and headed to Mike's mom's house.
"I'm talking to you." Reggie hissed.
"I went to the store." Mike said, just above a whisper.
"At two in the morning?!"
"It seems that way, doesn't it?" He snapped back.
Reggie stopped the car and delivered a punch to Mike's cheek.
Then, Mike only heard a ringing in his ears as he woke up behind a burger joint on the south side of town.
He winced as he ran his fingers over his cheek. He looked at his fingers, they were stained with blood.
He went into the bathroom and looked into the mirror, his left cheek was cut open, the surrounding skin was black from bruising.
He washed his hands and decided to walk back to his house.
The only way he would stop the abuse was to get rid of the abuser.
