"Hey Ella!" James yelled from the downstairs.
"Yeah?" I yelled back.
"Come down here!" I sighed and put my pencil down, getting up from my desk.
I walked down the stairs to see James standing with Aleks in the kitchen.
"Hey I was- woah, since when do you wear glasses?"
"Their reading glasses..." I said pushing them into my hair.
"Oh okay, they look nice, but anyway! I was thinking about getting a tattoo." James announced.
"A tattoo? What's it gonna look like?"
"It's kind of hard to explain but I got someone to draw it perfect for me."
"Alright! How 'bout I get one with you?"
"...I thought you didn't like tattoos?" James asked.
"That was in like... sixth grade."
"Alright, but no backing out!"
"Okay, I won't!"
"Wait, so..." Aleks started, "...you both are getting tattoos?"
James looked at me.
"Yeah, pretty much."

I walked into the tattoo parlor in front of James.
"You know, I'm really surprised you're doing this." James said.
"I don't know why, I'm excited." I responded.
Jesus fucking Christ am I terrified. It's going to hurt like a bitch.
"James, Ella, you can come back." A voice said.
Well, let's do this.

"Mine won't be done for awhile." James said as we walked into our room.
"I wish mine was like that. I can't feel my left shoulder blade.'' I said, taking my shoes off.
"Can I see it again?" James asked, smirking.
He knew that I wouldn't be able to pull the back of my shirt up, for fear of touching the still fresh tattoo.
It was late, I didn't care.
I took my shirt off.
"What happened to 'don't see me when I'm not clothed'?"
"Shut the fuck up." I said, grinning.
I got a watercolor tattoo of a hummingbird. No special reason, I just really love watercolor tattoos.
He walked back and looked at it, "Jesus, you really out did me. This is amazing."
"I thought so, too. That's why I got it."
He walked over to me and leaned down to my level so he was close to my face.
"Can't you ever take a compliment?" he said, smirking.
I started crying, "N-No, I c-can't."
He backed away, "Oh god, Ella, I didn't mean-"
I looked up at him and smiled, "Nah, I'm just fucking with you." I leaned forward and kissed his lips. I felt his smile.
He pulled away slightly, "How many years later and we're still fucking with each other."
I smiled and when he went in again, I stood up.
"Fucking tease." He said, laying down on the bed.
"That's what I'm here for." I said, getting changed.
