I stand above the shower drain
Letting my dead skin cells go down
They're so white and plain
The blonds and blacks try to train
Their hair to be a certain way
Long and straight and curled and braided
Trying to be the same
But none will stay
I stand above the shower drain
Letting red flow down
With little to no pain
Leaving a yellow stain
On what used to be white tile
Not with time or a while
Or cleaner or a smile
Will it be the same
I stand above the shower drain
Letting my dead skin cells go down
Letting myself drown
My dead skin cells do not define me
But what does is my brain
Several layers down
Is the new me coming out
But by the time you see it
It will be dead
