Victoria's P.O.V:

That bitch. That was the only thought that came to mind when I thought about that Mai girl. I was trying to be nice to her because she was Hunt's friend, but she just crossed the line. It wasn't even 5 minutes before she just wrote me off. I didn't even do anything wrong. She was upset for some reason that I didn't notice that everyone was staring at us, namely me. She had no right to get mad at me.

I love Hunt as a friend, but I can't deal with people like that. Which is why I walked out. I can't stand her.

I now found myself sitting at some window, looking out to the city, listening to music and wishing I could just go back home and be free with my friends. The only real good part about this is the fact that I get to see Hunter again, but that's about it.

"Hey," someone said quietly, who I could easily recognize as Hunter.

"Not in the mood right now Hunt," I said, trying to get him to go away without sounding too mean. But why was he here anyways?

"I know you're not, but I want to apologize for Mai. She just is weird about certain things," he said trying to defend her, but not very effectively.

"Stop trying to defend her. I was nice to her and she acted rude to me. I deserve an apology from her and you know it," I said, my anger level rising slightly.

Hunter bent down to my level as he said,"I know. And I'm deeply sorry for that. I'll talk to her, I promise."

I was unsure as to whether or not I should indeed forgive him, but his eyes told me that he really was truly sorry, as he gave me his very best puppy dog look. Stupid look.

"Fine. I forgive you," I said, reluctently may I add.

"Thank you!" he exclaimed as he embraced me in a hug.

"But I'm not going back in there," I added hastily, hoping that he would allow me to myself for a while.  Not that I didn't enjoy Hunter's company, but I think I needed some time to myself.

"Alright, where would you like to go then?" he asked, looking like he wasn't going to leave anytime soon.

"Honestly, I want to go home. But I don't really want to ditch school my first day and you shouldn't miss review week."

Suddenly his lips curved up into a smile that could only be described as mischevious, as not only did his grin seem crooked, but his eyes had that glint in them.

"Hunt, what are you thinking? I don't like that look on your face," I said nervously, my fear clearly written accross my face. Plus, I'm pretty sure I was cowering a little bit. Not many people could scare me, but Hunter was definitely one of them, and so was my dad, who would chop my head off if I ditched school.

"Nothing overly worth your time cowering in a corner from my godly wrath, but probably is something you're going to refuse to do unless I drag you there," he said cautiously, while confirming my fears.

"We cannot ditch Hunter," I said seriously."You have to be in classes so that you can review, and teachers are expecting me to be in class so that they can tell me what they 've done over the past year and see what I've done in return."

"I know that. But I wasn't thinking about missing the whole day, just using our OCPs to our advantage by going out for lunch and extending it to our free blocks, which follow immediately after lunch for the both of us," he stated as though he was telling me we had a math quiz next week.

I looked at him quizically for a moment before realizing that we could go off campus and not get into trouble. I had also forgotten that I had a free block like I did back home, and it was right after lunch. Sweet.

"Alright man with the plans, where do you suggest we go?" I asked innocently.

"Ha ha very funny. Why don't we go outside and walk around a bit, I think there's a pretty good noodle shop up the street a couple of blocks,"he suggested.

I nodded my approval, but stopped him before he made us walk out the doors of the school. Hunter turned and looked at me confused, waiting for an explanation.

"I need to grab my purse," I said. Hunter just rolled his eyes in response and walked back with me to my locker to retrieve my feminine item that seemed to bother Hunter.

We headed out the front entrance of the school and started walking in the direction that Hunter said the noddle shop was in. I had to trust him on this, because Lord knows that I would never be able to find the place on my own.

Along the way we talked and caught up with each other. It had been a while since we had spoken or emailed each other due to our busy schedules and the time difference.

I asked him about why people seemed to stay away from him and what about all the rumors I heard from Seo. He told me that most of the students got jealous that he was rising to the top of the class without so much as lifting a finger and so they all pretty much outcasted him. The only person who truly stayed by his side was that witch of a girl Mai. Okay, maybe she wasn't soo witchy, but I'm only saying that because she's been nice to Hunter.

We arrived at a small noodle shop and went inside. I was really a nice spot, with benches lining each wall and tables and chairs spread out nicely in the room. It wasn't too busy, but it was busy enough to where we had to talk to each other a little louder to hear. The place smelled delicious though, making my tummy wamble loudly enough for Hunter to look down at me and say,"I guess someone is hungry."

I just lightly punched him in the arm, in which he reacted to by dramatically holding his arm and saying ow like the wuss he is. I only used like 20% force, so it didn't even hurt that bad.

We sat down at a table next to the windows looking out to the street and waited for the waitress to come over to our table to give us our menus. This time I couldn't help but watch the people in the restaurant as they were eating and talking with their friends. However, I noticed that some of them were stopping their conversations to point and look at Hunter and I. I looked over at Hunter and saw that he was watching the people in the restaurant as well. It wouldn't have bothered me as much had we not been in a public restaurant in a city that I just moved to. The reason I wasn't as bothered by all the staring at school was because I was expecting it, I mean come on, I'm the new student that came to see the school a couple of weeks before school ended. I figured that people were going to stare, but this at a restaurant was at a whole new level.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when the waitress finally came over to our table and gave us the menus. Both Hunter and I were scanning the menu when I noticed that the waitress was still at our table staring at me. Did I have something on my face?

"I'm sorry, do I have something on my face?" I asked politely, looking up at the waitress, while also trying to rub whatever must be on my face away.

"No but, sorry to ask, are you that girl from that Youtube video?" she asked curiously.

"Um....What video are you talking about?" I asked concerned. What video would I be in?

"The one where your being dragged across the floor at the lobby of a building by a man and a dog," the girl said with a hint of amusement in her voice.

"WHAT?!" I practically yelled. "Someone got that on video?! What is it called?"

"Uh, yes someone got it on video and I thinks its called "Girl being dragged by dog and man across hotel lobby," she replied, most likely shocked by my sudden outburst. Then she walked away to tend to other customers while I sat there in shock.

Who in the world would have but that on Youtube? How many people have seen it? Why me? All these questions were going through my head as Hunter was on his phone.

"What are you doing?" I asked with an edge to my voice, now annoyed that every has seen my moment of stubborness in the lobby of my condo building.

"Looking up this video. I have to see it," he replied without even looking up at me. At that I reached across the table in an attempt to pull his phone out of his hands, but he anticipated my reaction and held his phone out of my reach.

     "Give me the phone Hunter!"

     "Never!"

     "Give it over NOW!"

     "Nice try, but no."

     "Ugh, hate my life!"

We weren't screaming, but we weren't being the quietest of people either. Finally I gave up, but Hunter at least agreed to allow me the pleasure of viewing the video with him.

We were leaning over the table with the phone between us as we watched with anticipation. Hunter was finding the whole thing hilarious as my dad was yelling at me about how immature I was and how I needed to get over my fears, while at the same time he was dragging me with Nano. I was horrified to relieve that moment as I saw how many people have viewed it.

"2 million views!" I slightly shreiked as my eyes went to the size of tennis balls. This couldn't be happenning. Dad was not going to be pleased about this. What if colleges saw this? And my friends back home?! Ah!

"Yo-you're a-a viral hi-hit," Hunter said between laughs. He was laughing so hard from the video, that there were tears in his eyes.

"This isn't funny! I can't believe someone put this online, and people are actually watching it. I'm never going to be able to go out in public again!" I started ranting. So much for trying to fit in nicely at school. That's probably why everyone was staring at me in the cafeteria today. Ugh, why does this have to happen to me.

Hunter finally calmed his laughing session long enough to say,"Sorry Vic, but you have to admit. This video is hilarious. I don't know why I haven't seen it sooner." He had on the biggest smile that I wanted to smack off his face.

"Whatever. That explains all of the stares from earlier."

"Yep," Hunter said nonchalantly as he went back to looking over his menu.

I slowly went back to my menu and cooled off. I don't have anger management issues I swear. I just don't like to deal with certain things.

The waitress finally came back, but didn't ask me anymore questions about my surprise video, and took our orders. While we were waiting for the food, Hunter and I took the opportunity to try and catch up a little.

"So, are you actually living at the Golden Empire?" he asked.

"Yeah, how did you know?" I asked him right back, wondering how he figured it out.

"I noticed it in the video that it was the same lobby as the Golden Empire building where I live," he stated. That's right, I almost forgot that we lived in the same building. I wonder what floor he's on.

"Oh, what floor are you on?" I asked, voicing my thoughts.

     "The fifty-fourth," he said casually.

"That's my floor!" I said back amazed that we were on the same floor.

     "Cool, what apartment number?"

"Um....I think its 5460, but I don't really remember, which is not good, because now I don't know where I live. Great. I'll have to text my dad and ask him again before I get back home."

"Wow, I'm 5458. You're the people who just moved in down the hall," he said as it seemed realization hit him smack in the face. "Why didn't you come find my address when you moved in? I could've showed you around the place."

The way he said that with a little bit of hurt in his eyes made me feel really bad now. But I didn't want him to know I was here because I wanted it to be a surprise.

"I'm sorry, I wanted it to be a surprise for today," I tried to explain, then suggested," But how about you show me around more this afternoon. I really wanted to chech out where I could walk Nano."

He agreed happily as our food came and we started to dig in. Hunter ordered the plain old chicken noodles while I had some spicy pork noodles. To say that I was hungry is an understatement. I was pretty much starving. I was able to scarf down my food in about 15 minutes, which is pretty fast considering how much food we had. Hunter was still working on his food when I had finished.

I let him eat in peace before I decided to grill him on his outcast situation at school. I wanted to hear his side of the story before I came to any conclusions based off of what Yeon told me.  I need to know the real reason why he is outcasted by everyone at school and if he has a crush on that  girl Mai. They clearly like each other, which I'm not too pleased about but it's obvious they have something goin' on between them.

When we were both finally done eating, we had approximately an hour left before we had to go back to school. We paid for our food and made our way out of the restaurant. Hunter told me there was this little square place that he wanted to show me and where we could talk.

It took us about five minutes to reach the square. It was pretty, with a fountain in the middle and benches all around, plus flower beds in surrounding the area.  We sat down on one of the benches near the fountain. It was hot to say the least. I have no idea as to how I'm going to get used to this heat.

I watched as people were walking around the square, some with their children, and others were business people on their way back to work from their lunch breaks. It was quite a sight. I hadn't seen so many Asians in one place. I was one of few back home at my school. It was kind of nice to not be one to stand out for once. Hunter on the other hand, stood out like a sore thunb, it was kind of funny to see.

After sitting quietly for a few minutes I decided it was time to start looking for some answer from Hunter.

"Hunter, can I ask you a few questions?" I asked, breaking our silence.

"You just did, didn't you?" was his smart ass reply. I should've known better. He always loves to get on my nerves.

"I hate you. Yes, I did, but do always have to be such a smart ass?" I asked annoyed now. He always annoyed me to no ends.

"Yes I do, and you don't hate me, you love me," he said amused by my annoyance.

"It was rhetorical, and yes I do hate you, Mr. Obnoxious," I replied.

"I know it was. Now what is the real question you want to ask me," he said, more seriously.

"Well, when I first came into homeroom this morning, I couldn't help but notice that people won't sit next to you, and then Yeon was amazed that I was friends with you and acted as though you were some sort of criminal. I guess what I'm asking is why?" I said.

At first Hunter seemed hesitant, as if deciding if he should or shouldn't tell me, but then he sighed and spilled the beans.

"Ok, at first, when I came here, everything was great. People were being nice to me and I was making friends. I met Mai first, in my math class, and then she introduced me to her her friends and so on. Well, all of her friends are extremely smart intellectuals that won't accept any form of a grade lower than 98% as passing. They all liked me because they thought that I was smart enough to keep a conversation, but not enough to give them any threat for their perfect record due to my inherent laziness.

"But then I started to move up the educational ladder and became the top of the class. So all of the people that pretended to be my friends left, started spreading rumors about me and then the whole school was against me. Except Mai. She stayed by me throughout, and is now considered one of my best friends. That's why I want the two of you to get along so much. I need to have my two best friends be friends with each other. Or at least civil. So please at least try to get along with her for my sake. It pains me to see the two of you not getting along," he finished with a heavy sigh and looked into my eyes, silently pleading with me to comply to his demand.

I stared at him for a few moments. Conflicting thoughts raced through my mind. Either give in to his request and make him happy or be a bitch and treat anyone any way I want, while having the consequence of losing one of my best friends. I decided that it was probably more worth it to make Hunter happy rather than upset him by not being friends with his.

"Alright fine. But I swear to God, that if she even once tries to threaten me or offends me or any of my friends then I won't hesitate to bite," I said reluctantly at the begining, but menacingly at the end.

At the moment I agreed, Hunter broke out into the biggest grin I had seen on him in a while. I was glad that I was the cause of this happiness, and something inside of me felt all warm and fuzzy but I couldn't really put it into words. All I could feel was pure bliss. But this didn't mean that I liked Hunter or anything did it? I mean, I know that I had feelings for him and all before he left, but those all disapeared after I met Douglas and came to the conclusion that we could never be together because of the fact that he was moving and I was never going to see him again. Or so I thought. But maybe it was the inner trying-to-be-a-good person in me who was happy to make someone else happy. Oh, who knows. I hate being a teenager with hormones.

"Oh, thank you Vic! I totally understand if anything were to happen, I get it. Okay, now that that's settled, let's get back to school before we're late for class," Hunter said enthusiastically, before getting up and leading the way.

A/N: Okay, there's chapter 7, please note the title change. I decided it would be better to have it called "I Can't Have You" rather than the other, because it suited the plot line better.

Also, sorry that this was a little boring. But I hope you enjoy it and I promise that the story line will pick up soon.
