Previously:
Nami helped calm Luffy down, by showing her determination to help him get over his depression about Ace's death. Luffy willingly accepted her help, knowing that she will not leave his side. With that said the two slept under the stars that night.
The sun brightly shone, and the two was still sleeping on each other's arms. Nami was the first one to awoke, she slowly opened her eyes and what she saw was Luffy. She saw the way Luffy was sleeping, he was so peaceful, Nami giggled in happiness. She also saw that they were both hugging each other and their faces was so close to each other. That view snapped her back to reality and she slowly removed her arms around Luffy.
'W- WHAT IS HAPPENING?!' Nami shouted, in her thoughts, while blushing immensely. 'Why am I sleeping with Luffy?!' another thought came to her mind followed by many more.
She decided to brush it off and just wash her face using the water of the pond near them. She slapped both of her cheeks with both of her hands at the same time, trying to calm herself down. Before she could even try to wake up Luffy, Luffy was already having nightmares, which didn't make sense to her because he was just sleeping peacefully when she woke up.
"Luffy wake up!" she shouted to Luffy waking him up.
Luffy woke up with tears flowing out of his eyes, then suddenly he hugged Nami again.
"Luffy it's alright, you don't have to be scared about Ace again, I'm here." Nami said trying to comfort Luffy.
"It's not about Ace." Luffy said while sniffing and crying.
"Then what is it?" Nami questioned, almost panicking, not knowing what Luffy is scared this time.
"I- I'm scared about..." Luffy paused for a moment. "I'm scared of losing you!"
Nami shocked by what Luffy said and blushed again, thinking why Luffy thought about that.
Nami decided she just won't let her captain cry while he is in pain.
"Luffy, you won't lose me or any of us. Because you'll be there to protect us, right?" Nami asked Luffy.
"Y- Yeah, I will." Luffy responds.
"If you can't, then we will protect ourselves, that's what the 2 years of training is for, right?" Nami said while brushing Luffy's hair softly.
Luffy couldn't say anything because of what Nami said, then a quote struck him.
The quote consists of the words Jimbei said to him after the Marineford arc.
"I know that you have lost a lot Luffy! But don't just count what is lost, count what it is that you have left!" Those are the words that Jimbei said to Luffy.
"I have my crew." Luffy said softly while smiling a little.
"What?" Nami heard a little of what Luffy said.
"Nothing." Luffy smiled even more.
"Nami?"
"What?"
"I'm sorry, I have no right to say those things to you." Luffy apologized because of what he said to Nami back at the Sunny.
"It's okay, I know what you've been through. Just don't forget, that every one of us has lost someone important , just like how I lost Bell-mère." Nami said, making Luffy kind of regret saying those horrible things to her.
Then a grumble is heard from Luffy's stomach, leading to Nami's giggle.
"Looks like you're back." Nami said
"Thank you so much, Nami."
"No problem, just know that we're with you until the end." Nami said making Luffy really happy.
"Do you want to go back to Sunny?" Nami said, knowing that Luffy is really hungry.
"Yeah! Shishishishi!"
At Sunny:
"Jeez, I can't believe you tried to cook you morons!" Sanji said while kicking Usopp and Chopper on the face.
"We'we vewy sowwy." (We're very sorry.) was all that Usopp and Chopper can say.
"Oi! You guys!" a scream was heard from the forest or jungle.
The crew stood up altogether and saw Luffy and Nami come back. They were all shocked, except Zoro and Robin, because Luffy was back to normal.
Robin giggled.
"Guess I won't have to kill that woman." Zoro said.
"That is my Nami-swaaan!"
"Yohohohoho! That is terrific it makes gives my bones goosebumps. Oh wait I'm all bones. Yohohohohoho! And Nami-san can I see your panties?" Brook said but luckily Nami didn't hear what he just said.
"Nami thanks for bringing back Luffy, that is so SUPEEERRR!" Franky said with his signature pose.
"Nami thank you so much!" Usopp and Chopper said in unison.
"You guys can thank me by feeding this 'buffet-loving' captain."Nami said to Sanji
"Normally, I would have prepared food by now, but the kitchen's busted."
Ehhh?! Why?!" Luffy whined while pouting.
" 'Why?!' Try asking these two numbskulls!" Sanji said while pointing his thumb to Ussop and Chopper.
Ussop and Chopper didn't respond, but they just whistled.
"So where do we eat now?" Luffy whined once more.
Transitions to a bar that highly respects the Straw Hat Pirates:
The bar was having a party for the Straw Hat Pirates, luckily the whole town considers the Straw Hat Pirates heroes because of their adventures and all the villages they have liberated from pirates.
"KANPAI!!" the whole bar of costumers pressed their wooden mugs at each other.
Luffy was just in a corner enjoying the view of the joyful smiles of his crewmates.
Zoro was at a competition to see who can drink the most sake without passing out, Zoro already won the competition but he just kept drinking.
Usopp, together with Chopper, was telling his adventures on the sea. Clearly every word that he said is a lie.
Sanji was serving dishes of food.
Robin was just enjoying a glass of wine together with the bartender questioning how they went on all of her adventures.
Franky was letting people see all his different hair styles by pressing his nose.
Brook was playing a calm and beautiful music.
Then a little girl with a pink short hair just like Nami's hair 2 years ago, with blue eyes wearing a fedora and a fancy dress went to Luffy and asked, "Onii-chan are you the captain of this crew?"
"Yeah!" Luffy said with a wide grin.
"Wow! You must've gone through a lot of adventures!"
"We did." Nami said while walking towards Luffy.
"Onee-chan who are you on the crew?"
"I'm the navigator." Nami let out a slight giggle.
"Wow! You guys are so awesome! I wanna be just like you guys when I grow up!"
"What's your name?" Luffy asked happily.
"Luna" (I'm sorry for the cliche name there but I can't think of anything else!)
"I dream of becoming captain of my own crew, just like you Luffy onii-chan."
"Well Luna when you do become a pirate, let's meet out on the sea, okay?" Luffy said, while Nami just looked at them and saw the similarity of the both of them, they both have sheer determination to fulfill their dreams.
Time flied and the crew stayed in the bar till midnight.
Most of the crew were drunk, especially Zoro. Luffy isn't because of his childish reasons.The crew went back to Sunny to rest. Luffy carried Nami to her room because she was also drunk.
" 'Sigh' Why did you have to drink 20 mugs of rum?" Luffy asked Nami who is almost passed out.
Luffy, together with Nami, arrived at her room, then Luffy lost balance but luckily he and Nami fell on the bed.
Luffy smiled widely and whispered to her ear, "Thank you for being by my side Nami."
Luffy was about to go out of her room, but Nami's voice stopped him.
"Luffy, please stay beside me for tonight. I don't like being alone in the dark."
Luffy smiled and said, "Sure."
Luffy stayed beside Nami on her bed and he wrapped his arms around Nami's waist. Nami's head rested beside Luffy's chest where she can feel his warmth. Then they quietly slept on for the night. What they didn't know was that the whole crew is watching them they quietly got away from Nami's room and smiled altogether.
"Now this is interesting." (Zoro)
"Indeed." (Robin)
"Why Nami- swan? Why do you leave me for that fool?" (Sanji)
"Wow! Luffy and Nami? I never thought this day would come." (Usopp)
"Yeah." (Chopper)
"So does that mean I won't be able to see Nami-san's panties?" (Brook)
"Well whatever it is going on with them it is, SUPEEERRR! Romantic!" (Franky)
The crew then went to their rooms and enjoyed the sight of what they just saw.
