Abhishek's POV-
"Abhay tera over hai. 2 wickets in this over and you're in. Come on, you got this." Virat bhai patted my back.
It was a twenty over match against South Africa.
I gave my cap and aviators to the umpire. I practiced my run up and threw the ball to Virat bhai and he threw it back.
Come on Abhay, you can do it.
I did my run up and bowled. The batsman swung his bat and smashed the ball for a 4.
Shit.
I put my hand on my waist and looked at the batsman.
Yaar kyu pet pe laat maar raha hai?
Playing against South Africa is one of the of toughest jobs to do especially when you have AB De Villiers batting.
I looked at my wrist and saw the thread Vashi tied four years back. I obviously couldn't wear the bracelet as it's not allowed but I still have the thread on.
I kissed the thread and whispered, "This one's for you Vashi."
I took my position and did my run up. I bowled a yorker. AB came forward to hit the ball for a full toss but missed it. The ball hit the middle stump, giving me my second wicket and first in this over.
"Woah!" I screamed and jumped up in the air.
I kissed the thread again and hugged Mahi bhai.
"Tu kamaal hai bhai!" Mahi bhai said.
The others patted me for getting AB. Virat bhai was so happy that his hug's impact made me lose my balance and fall to the ground.
"Ek aur Abhay! Ek aur." Mahi bhai shouted through the stump mic.
JP Duminy defended the ball but fortunately it bounced a little ahead and I ran forward to catch it.
"Yes!" I threw the ball up in the air.
"Welcome to the team Abhay!" Hardik tackled me with a hug
We won the match because of my wicket. South Africa were 148 all out. All together, I'd taken 3 wickets and scored 78 not out.
I won the 'Man Of The Match' award too.

"So, the first one is undoubtedly, Abhishek Sharma." Ravi sir announced.
We were in the dressing room with Ravi sir announcing who all made it into the playing eleven.
Just after he took my name, Mithali tackled me with a hug, followed by the rest of the team.
"I don't think this should be a surprise. It's Manjot Kalra with a fantastic 102." Ravi sir chuckled.
"Woahh!" I howled and hugged Manjot.
The others hugged him and the last one was from Adithi. He kissed her on the cheek and the whole dressing room hooted.
"Shubman Gill, following." Ravi sir smiled.
I jumped on my boy! After everyone was done congratulating him, Ravi sir continued.
"The man himself, Prithvi Shaw."
"Bhai aaj toh Shaw ka show hoga." I chuckled while giving him a hug.
"Sahi hai." He laughed.
"Okay guys, I'll come back in a few minutes with a surpise, you all celebrate until then." Saying so, Ravi sir left the dressing room.
Virat bhai got a champagne and opened it with the corb falling somewhere. Suresh bhai played 'Chotte Chotte Peg' and pulled me to dance. We both were so bad that the people looking at us started laughing. Virat bhai grooved some moves with Anushka bhabi too. The whole dressing room was filled with joy.
I looked to the now visible bracelet on my hand.
I excused myself and called my parents. They were very happy with my selection. I spoke to everyone except Komal di. It seems she was out of town for some work.
I decided to call her up separately.
"Abhay, what happened? All fine? You got selected?" She threw questions at me as soon as she picked up. I couldn't help but chuckle at her eagerness.
"Chill di. All fine. Yes, I got selected."
"WOAHHHHH!" She screamed over the phone.
Ouch. My ear.
"Di kaan phat jaayenge. Chillana bandh karo yaar."
"Oh. Sorry sorry." She chuckled.
"I fulfilled her promise di." I sighed.
"You did, Abhay. You did." I could feel her smiling through her voice.
I told Komal di whatever happened in those two weeks. She was very angry initially but eventually calmed down.
"She'd be very proud of you." Di continued.
"Hopefully." I whispered.
"Now leave these things and go enjoy." She tried cheering me.
"Yeah. Bye." I was about to hang up but she stopped me.
"What happened?" I asked.
"I'm proud of you, Abhishek Sharma." She said, softly.
"Thanks di."
"Now go, enjoy. Bye. Take care." So saying, she hung up.
I kept the phone in my pocket and joined the team.
Hardik bhai and Shubman were dancing on 'Hawaayein'.
It was hilarious.
Shubman pulled off the female role whereas Hardik bhai pulled off the male. He twirled Shubman, and Shubman pulling off his female role like a boss, hid his face in Hardik bhai's chest, trying to blush.
God, that was funny.
Akanksha even spat out her juice looking at them while everyone laughed.
Mahi bhai informed us that Ravi sir would be back soon. We all nodded but continued our celebration.
Suresh bhai changed the song to 'Tur Tur Tu Turara'. Just then the door swung open.
We expected it to be Ravi sir but it wasn't him.
Infact, it wasn't a him too.
The girl had a confused look on her face as she looked at us.
The girl was Vashi. My Vashi.
