It was officially homecoming week. Everyone is so excited for homecoming this year, the dresses were bought, ties were picked out, and hair appointments made. Now all we had to do was make it through this week. According to Veronica, homecoming week is the second biggest week of the school year. The biggest week is spirit week. That's right before spring break. But the events for homecoming were pretty exciting. What's sucks though is that because I came home in the middle of the night Friday, I got grounded for a few days. So I couldn't do anything with anyone until Thursday.

Ever since Friday night, I've also done my best to stay on Chelsey's good side by avoiding Chace. Like this morning while I was at my locker, I heard him talking down the hall and so I grabbed Jeff as fast as I could and kissed him until I heard him walk past us. I felt bad for avoiding him, especially after he admitted he didn't like me around Jeff, but I didn't want to feel Chelsey's wrath. She already doesn't like me.

It's been hard to not text him back though. Especially since some of the things he sends me are pretty riskae. He is definitely great with words. It didn't matter though, because once homecoming was over, I'm hoping things between him and I will be better than ever. He will end it with Chelsey, and I will stop leading Jeff on. Kissing Jeff has also been disgusting and revolting. He's way to forceful and his kisses are extremely hard, it feels like I need to put an ice pack on my lips after he pulls away. Now every time I even look at him, my lips get sore.

Today was the homecoming courts walk. They would walk across the stage in the auditorium for the juniors and seniors to look at them while the school would just broadcast it to the underclassmen. Chelsey was on homecoming court this year and was probably going to win homecoming queen. They announce who the king and queen are at the homecoming game, which is this Friday. Chace, Jeff, Mikey, and Jordan are all starting players. I'm really excited for them. Jeff is the starting quarterback, which is on the offense side and Chace is the starting middle linebacker, which is the defense side. That's honestly the only thing I know about this game.

The only other thing I know about this game is that we are going to win. We've been undefeated since last year I think is what it is. Also, Jeff hasn't shut up about the game since this morning. And I have a feeling all the guys are like this. Once lunch rolled around, it was definitely true. Even Veronica and Candice were hyped up for the big game. They'd be the ones cheering them on.

"We are so going to kick New York's asses Friday night!" Mikey says high fiving Jordan.

"Hell yeah we are!" Chace says while walking up. He high fives all the guys, including Jeff.

"Are you ready for practice today? It's suppose to be brutal all week." Jeff says to him.

"You bet your ass I am. I can take brutality. What's a great team without a little roughing up?"

"Damn right."

Did Friday night just escape their minds? I look at Candice confused and she just shrugs. Veronica walks over in her cheer leading uniform and sits down.

"You ready to cheer us on, ladies?" Jordan asks.

"The routine we've been working on for the game is totally killer. We are so going to win." Candice says proudly.

They all continue talking about what major parts in the game they were totally excited for. That's when Chelsey came walking up and sat down.

"So, are you guys excited to see us walk across the stage tomorrow morning?" She smiles. Even she was playing a part in the game. I wanted to do something for them too.

"Chelse, you're going to look so beautiful in your dresses." Veronica smiles at her.

"Honey, you have no idea." Chelsey winks at her. "Babe, make sure you buy a tie to match my dress for actual homecoming night." She refers to Chace.

"What color is your dress?" He asks her.

"Well the dress I'm wearing for the presentation of the court is black and white. The dress I'm wearing to the game is yellow, and my homecoming dress is red. So get a dark red tie." She says and then walks away.

I avoided talking to Chace at lunch because he was to busy talking about the game to really pay attention to me, which was a great thing for once. But the crappy thing is, is that I was the only one who wasn't talking about something they were excited to do at the game. I mean the guys were in it, the girls were going to be performing, and then there's me. Who isn't doing anything for them. I'm pretty sure I'm going to end up going to the game alone. And what I haven't even mentioned yet, the game is on my birthday. If anything, my parents will come with me, and Georgie because she's coming back to town for my birthday. She flies in Thursday, which is why I'm ungrounded as of then, that way we can spend time together. But still. Everyone was talking about the game, but no one even mentioned the fact that it's also my birthday. But I guess I can't be too mad. I mean, it is the most important game of the season.

The next day at school was the presentation of the homecoming court. In second period, they aired them walking across the stage. I was looking at all the guys and girls and how much effort they went through to look this good just for homecoming. A girl who lives down the street from me is on homecoming court and her dress was beautiful. In fact, she looked beautiful. I was definitely voting for her. The guy she was with I've seen around school also, he was very handsome. Next up was Chelsey Manning.

When they called up Chelsey and the guy she was with, it was like the entire school just went silent. I mean you couldn't hear anything. There was slight talking during the other court members, but when Chelsey stepped up, everyone was in awe. The guy had no chance of winning king because no one was looking at him. They were all looking at her. She was in the most beautiful floor length gown. It flowed out in a wonderful train, and the design was just impeccable. It was a nude color as the base, but black stripes connecting at different angles was what made this dress amazing. Even though I couldn't stand her, she looked absolutely beautiful. And her hair was curled to perfection. If I didn't know her the way I do, I would think she was the kindest and most beautiful girl in the entire school.

After they finished their walk, everyone applauded, even our teacher. After the presentation was finished, we voted for king and queen. It was obvious who was going to win, but I still voted for the girl anyways. I overheard some people talking saying how gorgeous Chelsey looked and how they wished they could know her. I circled a random guys name and put my ballet in the box my teacher had.

At lunch, everyone was now talking about the homecoming court and how amazing Chelsey looked. They talked about how they voted for her and some guy who was on the football team.

"Every time I see her in something as sexy as that, I think about how lucky I am to be even with her in the type of relationship we're in. I really do like her, a lot." Chace says out of no where.

"You're the sweetest thing." Chelsey says from behind him. She hugs him and kisses him on the cheek.

"I'm going to the bathroom." I whisper in Candice's ear. If she even heard me. I stood up and walked away. No one noticed that I was gone, it didn't matter. I went into the bathroom and looked at myself in the mirror. I couldn't help but feel like crying. Chace won this week.

- Hey Porter, where did you go?

Oh great, he texted me.

-Doesn't matter. I had something to do. You win this entire week. Enjoy your luck, now leave me alone.

I send back. I don't receive another text. I didn't feel like being in school anymore so I called my mom to check me out. She did and I went home. I curled up in bed and just watched Netflix the rest of the night. Mostly romantic comedies with scenarios that would probably never happen in real life. But what the hell, if Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are in love, then Steve Carrell should be happy for them. I was watching Crazy, Stupid love. My phone lit up from a text from Chace.

- Hey Porter, are you done being mad at me?

I roll my eyes and text him back.

- Leave me alone, I'm watching romcoms.

- I love romcoms. Can I watch with you?

- Are you serious? Do you seriously think I would let you watch a romantic comedy with me just because you love them?

- I was hoping that was the case.

- No. Because I don't want to watch a movie with you because you're so lucky to have stupid Chelsey, who you like a lot, which is stupid!

Did I just lose? I hope I didn't just lose.

- Are you jealous?

- You know what, yes I am. Bet or no bet, I am jealous. Because she's so fucking beautiful and you're so lucky to have her.

- Did I just win?

- I didn't kiss you.

- Can I watch the movie with you?

- Fine.

A few minutes later Chace shows up at my front door in sweat pants and the shirt he let me borrow for a few hours. He smiles and walks in.

"So this is my kitchen." I say gesturing to the room. He laughs and I take him into my living room.

"This is my mom, my dad is at work still. He won't be home until eight."

"Hi, Mrs. Tapper, it's lovely to meet you." Chace says reaching his hand out.

"Hi Chace. I've heard a lot about you."

"Let's go watch the movie." I say and lead him upstairs to my room.

We walk in and he stops and looks around. "I love your room." He says and smiles at me.

"Thanks, it's not much." I say to him.

"Are you kidding me? It's amazing. It's so artistic." I guess he was referring to the paintings on my wall. My sister painted them in high school and didn't have enough room in her room at college for them.

"Thanks, they're my sisters." I tell him. I sit down on my bed and he sits next to me. I turn my T.V. on and turn on Crazy Stupid Love from the beginning. I didn't mind watching it over again, it's my favorite romantic comedy. I laid up against the wall and he did too. He put his arm around me and I rested my head on his chest.

"I was thinking, after the game, maybe we could go out and celebrate your birthday. Dinner on me?" He asks me. I look up at him and smile.

"That sounds lovely."
