Rose: "Umm, I-I'm fine, thank you..."
???: "Oh before I forget. Let me introduce myself, I am Prince Hawk, second prince of Clarines. What's your name?"
Rose: He's royalty too?
Rose thought to herself.
Rose: "M-My name is Rose."
Hawk: "That's a nice name. It suits you well actually."
Rose noticed how attractive he is. She blushed a little and turned away from his gaze to hide her face.
Hawk: "Oh, your arm is injured..."
Rose looked at her arm. Her clothes were ripped and it left a scar.
Rose: "It's okay, it will heal by itself."
Hawk: "Why don't I bring you to see my castle's herbalist?"
Rose: "No it's fine, I don't want to bother you..."
Hawk: "I insist, come, let's go inside."
Rose slightly nodded. She tried to stand up but fall back down. Rose forgot her tail changed to human legs and she was not used to it.
Whenever a Mermaid or a Merman go on land, their tails will magically change into human legs. This prevents the people,living on land , to suspect them as Merpeople.
Hawk: "Are you okay? Can you walk?"
Rose: "I'm okay, I think my legs are weak..."
All of a sudden, Hawk carried Rose, bridal style. Rose was shocked by his actions and she felt as if her heart was going to beat out of her chest.
Hawk: "Now you don't have to worry about falling again."
Rose gave him a small smile and both of them went into the castle.
<In the castle...>
After Rose changed into new clothes, she went to meet the herbalist.
The herbalist rummaged through her bag and pulled out a bottle of cream made out of herbs. She then gently spread the cream onto Rose's arm.
Herbalist: "So, Hawk found you stranded on the beach?"
Rose: "Umm, yes. Wait, are you allowed to call the prince by his first name?"
Herbalist: "Of course, I am his twin sister. My name is Harmony."
Rose: "Oh, no wonder you guys looked alike..."
Harmony laughs.
Harmony: "A lot of people tells me that all the time."
Harmony start wrapping Rose's arm with a bandage.
Rose: "Aren't you a Princess? Why are you working as a herbalist?"
Harmony: "Even though I am a Princess, doesn't mean I can't achieve my dreams. I have always wanted to be a herbalist. I love to explore many different kinds of medical herbs. This job even gives me the opportunity to help people, like how I am helping you."
Rose smiled.
Rose: "At least you have your life planned out..."
Harmony looked at Rose.
Harmony: "You know, you're the first girl Hawk have brought back to the castle."
Rose looked back at Harmony.
Rose: "Really?"
Harmony: "Yup, you must be special."
Harmony was finished.
Harmony: "There, all done."
Rose glance at her neatly wrapped arm.
Rose: "Thank you."
Harmony: "No problem."
Harmony start packing up her things.
Harmony: "By the way, you are really pretty."
Rose: "Oh, thank you... again."
Suddenly, a maid came into the room.
Maid: "Your highness, is this girl, Rose, by any chance?"
Harmony: "Yes, she's Rose. Why are you asking for her?"
Maid: "The Prince wants to speak with her."
Harmony: "My Brother?"
Maid: "Yes, your highness."
Rose: "Oh, I should get going. It was nice meeting you, Princess."
Harmony: "It was nice meeting you too."
Rose bowed and left with the Maid.
<In the Prince's Office...>
Maid: "Your highness, Rose is here."
Hawk: "Great, you may leave now..."
Maid respectfully bowed and went out of the room.
Rose: "Thank you for helping me today at the beach, your majesty..."
Hawk: "Please, call me Hawk."
Rose: "Oh...okay.."
Hawk took a step closer to Rose.
Hawk: "So tell me, Rose. Where are you from?"
Rose: Oh no, I can't tell him that I am a Mermaid...or else, he will think I'm weird...
Rose: "I am actually from a Kingdom quite far from here."
Hawk: "What is it called?"
Rose: Crap...what do I say?
Rose decided to pretend that she lost her memory about her Kingdom's name.
Rose: "I forgot what is it called..."
Hawk: "Oh, did your journey here affected your memory?"
Rose: "I think so..."
Hawk: "Hmm...then I will let you stay here in the castle as a guest of mine."
Rose: "That is very kind of you, Hawk. But, you don't have to do so much for me..."
Hawk: "It's the least I can do..."
Hawk then stared Rose deeply in the eyes. He start to walk closer to her. This made Rose back up.
Rose suddenly hit her back on the wall behind her.
Rose: oh Gosh, he's too close...
Hawk stood right in front of Rose, he leaned closer to her.
Rose: Omg...he really looks like the man in my dreams!
Hawk: "You're too beautiful to be a commoner..."
Rose: What?
Rose's face turned red again but she pushed him away slightly.
Rose: "I'm sorry but I'm not a commoner..."
Hawk stared at her, puzzled.
Hawk: "What are you-"
Rose: "I'm royalty too..."
Hawk's eyes widened in shock.
Hawk: "S-So that means that you are a Princess?!"
Rose: "Indeed I am."
Hawk: "I am so sorry!"
Rose: "It's okay, mistakes happen. Also, I was not too surprised that you see me as a commander."
Hawk: "I was mistaken and I didn't know..."
Hawk's Pov
When I saw Rose at the beach, she looked so similar to the strange woman that keeps on replaying in my dreams.
I knew there was something special about her. Who is she? Where did she come from?
She's really attractive, to be honest. Her luscious blonde hair and her sparkling blue eyes really caught my attention.
Is it fate that brought us together? Or it is just a coincidence?
Another thing is that she's a princess. But I have never seen her attending any of my castle's balls. Strange...I will then have to do my research...for now...
