"If it's a girl I want to name her Isabella ooh what about Valeria? that's kinda cute" I blurted sorting through a rack of baby clothes
"What if it's a boy?" Trent asked pushing the trolly behind me. I glanced over my shoulder smiling
"You pick"
"Junior or Jr for short" he grinned and dropped a box of diapers in the red trolly.
"How about Jacob?" his eyes twinkled
"I like it"
"Okay, so what else do we need?" I pulled out the list of baby stuff
"Organic bottles, pacifiers, a swaddle, a crib, and baby powder" I started reading off the checklist
"I'll grab those and we can meet at the register in 30 minutes" I nodded in agreement and began to do some of my personal shopping.
Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain in the pit of my stomach.
"AHHH!" I cried out cradling the 4 month old baby in my uterus. I slide to the ground slowly, stopping as the red liquid runs down my leg.
"Sweetie are you okay? Someone help! Call 911 she's bleeding" A concerned employee yelled to the customers at the front.
"It hurts so much. I-I-cant move" I blabbered with tears running down my face
"Did you come alone? We'll get the ambulance as soon as we can" she reassured rubbing my back
"M-my baby. Please help my baby" I begged, shaking violently grabbing the leg of the shopping trolly for balance.
"KENDYL BABY! WHAT'S WRONG?" a disheveled Trent ran over dropping to his knees. Tears ran down his face as he tried to keep himself together.
"I don't know-i think theirs something wrong with the baby"
a few moments later the EMS came, lifting me on a gurney. I grabbed Trent's hand never wanting to let go.
"Miss you have let go of his hand" the female EMS worker instructed,
"No! he's my fiance!"
"Okay sure then come with us" Trent stood staring at the large pool of blood
"Trent? it's going to be alright" wiping his face he nodded.

"I'm sorry. There wasn't much we could have done. Your baby is dead" The doctor confessed solemnly.
Dead? my baby is dead?
Numb. I was completely numb.
"Why would God give me this if he was just doing it to take it away from me?" I stared at the doctor for an answer I knew he didn't have.
"I will leave you two to discuss remembrance for the baby" he nodded exiting the room
"FUUUCCCCCCK!" Trent screamed punching the wall behind him.

Blood ran down his hand as he unclenched his fist.
" Trent.."
"You know-" he began turning to me, his wounded right hand was being supported with the left.
"-what I don't understand? Is how life can be so cruel to take the life of someone who didn't even know they exist"
More tears started down my face. I glanced down at the large stomach that still carried my unborn child.

Trent angrily sat in the chair on the right side of the room burying his head in his hands.
"Let's talk about how we're going to deliver this baby." the doctor said putting his clipboard on the desk.
"I still have to deliver the dead baby?" My breath caught. This was hell.
"Can't you just suck it out?"
"Unfortunately, you're too far gone for that procedure" Doctor Mann confirmed.
"Unbelievable!" Trent hissed pacing the room. I get it, I can feel his anger.
"Son, you okay? please take care of that hand"
"No, I'm fine let's just do this-"
"Baby. please" I pleaded, rubbing his unwounded hand.
after Trent left doctor man reviewed the other option.
" If you aren't able to go into labor by the 9 months, we will have to induce the labor"
"Sure" I whispered resting my head back on the pillow
"Any questions"
"No"
9 months later
The delivery went smoothly, I was discharged the same day. Trent picked me up from the hospital, he wanted to come but I told him not to. I didn't want the sad memory of the child we could have to haunt us.
"How was it?" he asked as I buckled my seatbelt
"Fine" I shrugged not saying a word after that.
We drove in silence for the rest of the ride home. I unconsciously played with the engagement ring on my finger.
" Stop the car"
"What!?" Trent jumped at the sound of my voice.
"I SAID STOP THE CAR" I yelled louder this time
" What 's the matter?" concerned filled his beautiful face
" I think we should break up"
" What the fuck Kay. Why?"
" If I can't have your baby you should be with someone else who can" I bluntly said handing him back the ring.
"No I won't-" He took my hand placing the ring back on my finger. In its rightful place.
"I propose to you because I loved you regardless if we have kids or not. So stop your shit and let's get married right now" Trent grinned putting the car in drive
"Be my fucking wife today"
