Note:
The following Poem has mature themes, deals with domestic violence and drug abuses. So if you are too young, I would request you to skip this one.
Thanks.
GULP
Can you remember
the details of
that night
when
we talked
only to our pillows
and cotton bedsheets
but not with each other
Night when we were angry
furious, gloomy and raged,
and you had the look on
your face which you've
when you get stuck in
traffic, horn-horn,
hush, you, hush
say nothing
and just
allow
this
.
.
(gulp)
.
.
hmm
.
.
.
.
allow
this
silence
.
.
.
.
to continue for the rest
of our lives, you said
and all I tried to
do was to
find
love
love
that
promised love
in your moist eyes
which you'd promised
me a thousand times
but all I saw was
rage
depression
drugs, failure
punishment
agony
agony
yes, agony!
And your skin
I saw your skin
ablaze
in the pale moonlight
saw the dance of demons in
your red blue eyes,
your weak dead hands
your hot crawling tears
the scars on your cheeks
and I fell in love with you
again
the same way I did
that day
when we kissed on the bridge
and you dropped my bracelet
in the water
Splash
Splash
Splash
I wipe my face, ha-ha,
although there is no water, ha-ha!
Memories are marching past my mind
(gulp)
and I close my eyes
and you cut your own wrist
and I can feel your blood
the cries
the howls
the ghosts
the bathroom tiles
your belt on my back
your tongue in my wound
your nails on my thighs
your breaths on my skin
and I wanted to run
but not alone
with you
but we fought
we slapped
we hit
we kissed
we cried
in different corners
throwing things at each other
cursing
shrieking at each other
like loud winds
and then you did
something unexpected
something unpleasant
you smiled at me
the smile that I have never seen before
your last smile
like a colorless rainbow
in a deep azure sky
you smiled
and the smile stayed on your lips
you had the knife
and you had your anger
and my life was all yours
I was all yours
but all you did was to stab
your own heart
but the smile stayed
on your frozen lips
n' I just sat there
lifeless on those
cold bathroom tiles
smelling my own blood
oozing out of my neck
and your blood
your nascent wounds
death wounds
and believe me
I wished to stand
to take away your knife
but I couldn't
I couldn't even bring those warm
tears in my eyes for comfort
so I just sat
stared
without blinking
without thinking or feeling
the death of a mad mad man
(gulp)
a wild man
an abusive man
a troubled man
a defeated man
and he did what he did
with me
the things
his life did to him
unapologetically
but
he is still smiling
in this fucking photograph,
and I thought he is real
what's real anyway,
this photograph?
these pills?
this room?
that window?
your photograph
that's hanging on my front wall
or the memories
or the taste of his lips
on my lips
Ah! memories
Fucking Memories
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH
GO AWAY
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH
THEY HURT SO
BAD
SO BAD
SO BAD
THAT I HAVE NO
WORDS LEFT
AND NO SLEEP
Gulp
in my eyes
Gulp
Gulp
I must sleep
Arggh
Gulp
Gulp
But I can't sleep
Gulp
Gulp
These pills are useless
Gulp
Gulp
Gulp
These syringes are useless
Tchh
Tchh
Tchh
Can someone tell him
the man in the photo
that I am going to sleep
that I just need a warm hug to rest
that I just need one last
fucking kiss
Gulp
Gulp
that I miss him so much...
Gulp
I miss him so mu-

How was the Poem?
Was it too dark?
Did you vote?
So this time, I tried to do something new and I was really looking forward to writing something on the complexities of urban relationships, how drugs and bad addiction can cause troubles, and affect your relationships and sanity.
The story in the poem is about a woman in 30s who is trying to overcome the grief of her lost lover and husband, but like any other couple, they used to fight. They failed to separate their life problems with their personal problems.
Rest is open to interpretations.
Both took drugs.
And Drugs took their lives.
This Poem in no way endorses Drugs and Violence.
Thanks for Reading
