Raion struggled to stand up; “Okami-chan, are you alright?!” She shouted in fright to see her hurt. Toshi and herself clenched their fist, ‘We have failed you Hokage, we are too weak to protect her,’ both of them thought. Okami’s hand was over her eyes with the kunai still in between her fingers. Blood slowly rolled down her cheek, staining her fairly tan skin. Gasps were heard, “Okami-chan,” Toshi grunted as he slightly moved towards her but Sasuke beat him to it and kneeled in front of her.
“Okami, you need to let go of that kunai,” Sasuke said. “GET AWAY FROM HER YOU DUCK HEADED FREAK!!” Raion shouted. “I’m her teammate,” Sasuke growled. “NOT FOR THIS TEST!! JUST STAY AWAY FROM HER!!” Raion continued to shout. Toshi grunts as he pushes Sasuke away from Okami, “You don’t touch her. I can careless if you are her teammate, you just don’t touch her,” Toshi said. Sasuke glares at him, “I don’t care who you are to her but you don’t go around pushing me like that,” Sasuke said. Okami’s body began to tremble as more blood suddenly rolled down her face.
“Argh,” her grunts stopped Sasuke and Toshi in their small argument and stared down her. “Okami-chan, don’t!” Toshi shouted and reached to stop her but it was too late. Okami pushed both Sasuke and Toshi down; kunais imbedded in her body. Her hand slowly falls down along with the kunai; her right eye close as blood rolled down. Raion gasp when she saw Okami’s right eye; her eye had a scar running up and down as blood flowed out of the deep wound. ‘She still stopped it from hitting her eye?’ Raion thought. Okami growled, ‘Child, calm down,’ Jubi’s voice soothed a raging wolf.
“I see you got her,” his voice made the three Sound ninjas jump slightly in fright. They calmly turned to face him, “Hai, Lord Orochimaru,” The girl Sound Nin said. Orochimaru smirked down at Okami, “Soon, she will be mine but for now I want to see what she can do; those two the Key and Moon ninjas out did me,” Orochimaru hissed. “I want them as well, they carry a lot of power,” He says. “Hai, Lord Orochimaru,” all three Oto ninjas said. They jumped down to a tree and Raion caught their shadows. “It’s the sound,” She growled. ‘Hm, she has fast calculations,’ Orochimaru thought.
“My, my, what do we have here?” Dosu asked. Kin and Zaku meekly stood next to their leader who was sitting down on a branch. Okami heard their voices and soon black chakra licked at her body. ‘Child you need to calm down!!’ Jubi shouted in concerned. Jubi is the only tailed beast who doesn’t want to leave their host; he became attached to Okami since her birth. Raion glared at the Oto ninjas along with Sasuke and Toshi. Shikamaru and his team had moved far back and stared at them.
Okami strode out of the cave with kunais imbedded in her body, one eye closed and blood stained face. Zaku smirked, “Heh, I see I got her eye pretty well,” He said smugly. “THAT WAS YOU?!” both Toshi and Raion shouted in pure hate. Toshi glared at them when Kin smirked along with Zaku, “Of course he did, he has perfect aim,” Kin said. ‘Perfect aim my ass,’ Raion thought. Toshi quickly did a hand sign, “Fire Release: Phoenix Fire,” he murmured as he shot out his right palm at the Oto ninjas. A phoenix bird shot out of his palm and soars towards them in fast speed. The Oto ninjas had widen eyes and dodge at the last minute but the phoenix gave chase.
Toshi glared harshly at them and made another hand sign, “Lighting Release: Sharp Ripper,” Toshi murmured. The sky turned dark; blue, purple and white lighting flashed across the sky, aiming towards Toshi’s stretched out hand. Everyone stared at him in surprised when a large orb ball formed. Blue, white, purple flashed around hitting trees to break in half; “Better hope you can dodge this one,” Toshi sneered as he threw the orb. The Oto ninjas didn’t dodge the orb and got struck along with Orochimaru. “Argh!!” they all shout in pain; Okami calmly walks towards Toshi and places a gentle hand on his shoulder.
“Toshi, release them. We still need them,” She whispered in his ear. Toshi canceled his jutsu and the four ninjas were on the ground panting. Orochimaru quickly vanished before he was seen leaving the other three to continue to the fight. “Argh,” Zaku grunted when he tried to sit up. “Give me your scroll and I will let you live,” Toshi said. “Alright, here,” he said quickly tossing him their scroll. “Just leave us alone,” He says while helping Zaku with a passed out Kin. “You are too strong for us Key Ninja,” Dosu said and they limped away.
Toshi turned around and tossed Sasuke the scroll, “Here, and wake up your idiot friend,” Toshi said. A sigh escaped from Okami’s lips and fell down to the ground. “OKAMI-CHAN!” everyone shouted. Raion struggled to stand up, ‘Damn it! I’m still too weak!!’ she thought to herself. “Pull out the kunai knives,” Shikamaru barked up an order. Soon, Sasuke, Toshi, Ino and Choji started to take the kunai knives out of Okami’s body. She whimpers in pain trying not to let out a chuckle ‘Damn this pleasurable pain!’ Okami thought.
Once all the kunais were out of her body Raion had managed to stack up in chakra and healed her. “Raion don’t!” Toshi shouted but it was too late. Raion’s hand touched Okami’s body shocking Okami and Raion, “Argh,” Raion grunted in pain. “Your chakra is too low to heal her; and if you use your chakra in a low level it shocks you,” Toshi said. Raion grunts and again tries to heal Okami but only manages to shock herself. Toshi stopped Raion from trying the fifth time by then, Ino and Choji cried while Sasuke and Shikamaru held back tears.
Okami’s body laid lifeless while Sakura’s and Naruto’s body began to twitch in movement. “Argh,” Naruto groans as he sits up. NO one paid attention to him; their main concern was Raion who had thrown herself at Okami’s body. Crying over her; Sakura sat up too and looked around. Only to spot the position Raion was in. ‘It’s like back the Land of Waves when Sasuke-kun died,’ She thought sadly. Not afar a group of ANBU ninjas where on a hunt for Orochimaru along with Anko. She heard sobbing and looked down to see a group of Gennins mourning over a dead comrade. Anko’s eyes soften at the sight but soon widen when she saw Okami’s body.
‘HE GOT TO HER!?’ she thought. Okami lay still against the cold forest floor, Anko and the rest of the ANBU looked down, watching at the Gennins with sympathy. “OKAMI-CHAN!!” someone shouted. Everyone’s head turned to look at Naruto. “WHAT HAPPEN TO OKAMI-CHAN?!” he shouted. Anko tried to fight back tears, ‘Poor kid; that was his only friend he ever made,’ Anko thought. Raion cried against Toshi’s chest unable to look at Naruto; to who was clueless. “Okami-chan, why are you on the floor?” Naruto asked with a grin. He got no reply and his grin slowly faded, “Okami-chan?” he asked.
Anko turned her head away from the heart breaking scene; “Anko, we need to get the body from them,” One of the ANBU said. Anko nodded her head and they quickly appeared in front of them. The Gennins gasp in surprise, “We are here to retrieve Okami-san,” Anko’s head dip down and silently tears flow down her cheeks. Naruto saw this and his face suddenly went from confused to sadden; “Okami-chan,” his voice trailed off. His eyes suddenly watered over and soon enough tears flowed down his cheeks onto the floor.
~Gaara~
‘Jubi,’ Shukaku says. I grunted and held my head, ‘What’s the matter?’ I asked. ‘Jubi disappeared,’ He says. ‘What do you mean?’ I asked him. He growls and became restless, ‘Someone killed Jubi’s brat,’ Shukaku said making my eyes widen. Okami; I left my room where I was sharing with my sister and brother. “Gaara-,” I didn’t listen as I pushed past Baki-sensei and quickly rushed into the forest.
Half way towards a point I saw Naruto yelling and crying. “YOU COULD’VE SAVED HER!!” he shouted while pointing at my Kobi. I growled silently as I narrowed my eyes at him when I saw my Kobi started to cry. “DON’T YELL AT HER!!” A boy with black hair, pale complex skin, shouted at Naruto and quickly brought my Kobi into his embrace. I also glared at him when I saw my Kobi buried her face into his chest; “Ssh, Raion, don’t cry anymore,” He said softly. “He’s right Toshi, Naruto is right, I should’ve protected Okami-chan better,” Raion wept.
My chest hurts, ‘Okami is dead?’ I thought. I clenched my chest and shut my eyes tightly, ‘What is this feeling?’ I thought. I stared down to see Leaf ANBU carrying a body; its hand limp down and sway back and forth, ‘Jubi,’ Shukaku sadly. The ANBU that held the body turned to face me and that’s when I saw Okami’s lifeless body. My eyes widen when I saw her face; a deep wound on her right eye, blood staining her pale complex skin. ‘Okami-chan,’ I thought.
~Orochimaru~
“My, Lord Orochimaru, those Jounins did a number on you didn’t they?” Kabuto asked. I hissed at him, “They weren’t Jounins; they were Gennins, Key, Leaf and the Moon ninjas attacked me,” I hissed. Kabuto looked shocked, “Key, Leaf and Moon ninjas working together?” He asked. “Yes, that Fujimoto girl is from the Moon village, a boy named Toshi is from the Key village and Okami-,” “The Leaf ninjas,” Kabuto said surprised. I hissed, “Just heal me boy,” I snapped. He smirked and started to heal me; “That girl, do you have any information about that girl?” I asked.
Kabuto nodded unsurely and took out his decks, “Okami, leaf ninja,” He says trying to locate her information. “Ah here it is,” He says. “Tell me boy,” I hissed. “Of course my Lord; her name is Okami, uh strange it only says Okami no last name,” He says flipping the card back and forth, “Forget her last name and tell me more,” I growled. “She’s a Gennin here at the Leaf Village, she’s 13 years old, here teammates are Uchiha Sasuke, Haruno Sakura and Uzumaki Naruto her sensei is Hatake Kakashi; and that’s about I can get out of her information,” Kabuto said scratching his cheek with a finger. “What do you mean that’s it?” I asked narrowing my eyes at him.
He flipped the card to show me; on the card it only says her name and age, teammates, Sensei and her photo. I hissed at the card as Kabuto puts it away. “I want that brat,” I hissed. “I hear that the Sound Ninjas did a number on that Okami girl,” Kabuto said pushing his glasses up. “What do you mean?” I narrowed my eyes at him. “I mean that she died protecting her teammates,” He said. I sneered at him, “What about the Fujimoto and the Key ninja?” I asked. “They live,” He shrugs his shoulders as he puts his cards away. “Do you have any information on the Fujimoto and Key ninja?” I asked.
He smirks, “Of course I do Lord Orochimaru,” He says and takes out two info cards. “Let’s see Fujimoto,” Kabuto said and focused his chakra.
~Raion~
I stared at the ceiling with an empty feeling. I turned my head to see Toshi hunched over head in his hands, shoulder shaking with silent sobs. I turned back to face the ceiling, ‘Okami is dead,’ I thought. I raised my hands to my face and stared at them, ‘I couldn’t protect her, because I was weak, I couldn’t protect her,’ I thought as I shut my eyes tightly. “Okami,” I heard Toshi sob. My chest hurt when I heard his small whimper; I knew Toshi loved Okami more than a friend. He knew I liked him more than a friend but he told me gently.
I also remember that day; I got in trouble with some bad people, they were about to kill me when Okami stood in. She was their leader; for a quiet girl, she leaked of power.
^Flashback^
Left, right, left, up, down, duck, jump; I need to get away. “You can’t out run us!!” Startled I ran even further until I hit dead end in an alley way. “Shit,” I cursed under my breath. I was panting while I looked around to get away but it was too late, “Heh, a trapped prey,” I heard someone say behind me. I turned around to see ten men, “Haha, hey Jerry, what’s up man?” I asked. The man in front of the other nine men glared at me. “Don’t hey Jerry what’s up man, me,” He snapped.
“Oh man, come on, we knew this day is gonna happen,” I whined. He scrunches up his nose in disgust, “I should’ve known better than to trust him; that’s why I killed him,” He smirked. My eyes widen, “YOU KILLED HIM?! WHAT KIND OF MAN WILL DO THAT?!” I shouted. I saw all the men giving a look; if we were in anime they would’ve sweat drop, “Uh, I’m kind of that man to kill off someone I don’t trust,” Jerry said. I slapped my forehead with my palm, “God, I’m stupid,” I mumbled. “Now hold still,” Jerry said pointing a gun at me.
“HOLD STILL?! ARE YOU SHITTING ME?! YOUR FUCKING POINTING A GUN AT ME AND YOUR TELLIN GME TO HOLD STILL?!” I shouted. “Yeah, pretty much,” He said shrugging. ‘Ah, shit,’ I thought. I closed my eyes as I saw him placed his finger on the trigger. ‘Ah, man, please God don’t let me die! I believe in you and in unicorns!!’ I thought. “Enough,” I heard a strong voice full of power said. “God, is that you?” I asked opening my eyes to see a girl about the same age as me, walking towards the front.
She shook her head and looked towards Jerry; I saw him flinch, “Okami, hehe, hi, what’s up?” Jerry said nervously. I saw the girl, Okami, narrow her eyes at him, “Leave,” She said. “But-,” “Go before I put that bullet in your head,” She threaten. Jerry nodded hurriedly, “Yes, of course, boss! Let’s go!” He said and shouted at his men. They all ran; Okami turned to face me, “Uh, thanks?” I asked. “What were you doing with Jerry’s men? He could’ve killed you,” She said.
“Well-,” “I heard he killed your friend,” She sighs heavily. I huffed, “WILL YOU LET ME EXPLAIN!!” I shouted. She glanced at me; I gulp, ‘Oh shit,’ I thought. I saw her smile a faint smile, “I like you, what’s your name? Mine is Murasaki Okami,” She said. “Uh, Fujimoto Raion,” I said unsurely. She nodded her head, “Come, if you stick by me you won’t get into trouble; oh one more thing, you need to get use to me saying only one word at a time or never speak,” She said.
I nodded my head, “Yeah okay,” I said. I followed the girl to her house, and she let me have food of whatever I wanted. I grin at her, ‘Ah, friendship!’ I thought happily.
^End Flashback^
I wiped away my tears from my cheeks, ‘She always the one protecting me; what could I do? Just stood there like a fucking idiot almost getting killed,’ I thought. I sat up and went towards Toshi, “Toshi,” I called. He looked up towards me and soon I found his head pressed against my stomach and his arms wrapped around my waist. I felt him shake while he cried silently, “Ssh, Toshi, no more crying,” I whispered as I petted his hair.
I blink away my tears, ‘I need to be strong for Toshi, he’s a year younger than us,’ I thought. I looked down at him and saw his red puffy eyes, “Raion, I want my Okami back,” Toshi whimpered. I closed my eyes and brought him into a hug, “Me too, Toshi, me too,” I whispered.
~Hiruzen~
I stare at my ANBU whose heads were gazing down, along with Anko. I turned my back at them as I stare at the ANBU who was behind me. “Protect the rest of the Gennin, if he’s here; he’s mostly going to attack after the exams,” I say. The ANBU nodded its head, “You’re dismissed,” I say. The ANBU vanished; I quickly turned to look at Anko, “Orochimaru killed Okami,” She said. I sigh as I closed my eyes, “Anko, I will go see Okami’s body by myself, you and the rest of the ANBU protect the Gennins along with Mura-san,” I said.
“The ANBU, who just left,” I answered her unasked question. She nodded, “Alright, you’re dismissed,” I said. They vanished while I sigh, ‘Okami,’ I thought.
