Persephone's PoV
I can take the pain but not the hurt that follows. If I wake up, what will happen? I can't stand the uncertainty, I need something to prove that I won't be in pain when I wake up. I just want to drift with the waters and follow wherever it leads, but something is pulling me back as if it wants me to turn back and swim. Instead I just want to give up. I'm a coward. I'm afraid of what will happen if I do turn back.
I need to stop thinking about this but Luke I can see him. He's saying something, but what? He's getting closer suddenly I can feel his arms around me. I can hear what he's saying now;
"...Don't give up yet Seph. You still have a life to live. You still have a baby to take care of. Don't abandon your child. I'll see you long in the future Seph but for now live your life if not for yourself then for your child and the people who love you. Goodbye Seph. "
Then suddenly I was alone and I found myself swimming. I can't give up, not yet. Luke was right my baby still needs me.
I'm no longer in a river. I'm on a bed. I can smell the disinfectant that all hospitals use. I can hear the dripping of the IV. I open my eyes as i listen.
Drip, Drip, Drop.
