Jack's and Elizabeth's love story

Chapter V| HITTING THE ROCK

The next morning I went to school and, like always, Jack went with me. When we arrived I rang the cow's bell so the children would go inside. Once everyone took their seats and the class was about to start Jack said:
-Take special care of Elizabeth for me.
-Why?-Opal asked curiously
-Because we are having a baby- Jack answered excited
-Wow!Really?
-Will you show us when he or she is born?
-Yes -I answered while giggling
-Is it a boy or a girl?
-It's too soon to know. Let's start the class.
-Goodbye Elizabeth- he said after he kissed me.
-Wuuuhhh- all of the kids said like it was a romantic movie
-Goodbye- I said while laughing.
The class was going great but I saw the kids very tired so I decided to give them a break:
—Cody?
-Yes Miss Thatcher?
-Don't tell your mom about the baby, ok?
-I'll try. But I can't promise you, I'm too bad at keeping secrets
- That's ok
    Suddenly I heard:
-MISS THATCHER!!
    I went outside running to look for the child that was calling me. Suddenly I see Emily laying on the floor and Laura next to her.
-EMILY! Laura, what happened?!
-We were playing a race and she fell down and she hit her head with the rock
-Oh my god, she is bleeding.GO!! Call Dr Shepherd and tell him to come with a horse to get faster.
-Ok
-And... ROBERT!!COME HERE!!FAST!!-I called him while he came running.
-Oh no!What happened to her
-Go get Mountie Jack, tell him to come as fast as he can, that Emily is bleeding and unconscious.
-Ok...
    That poor little girl. I was really worried. I didn't know if she would make it. She was loosing too much blood and seeing her unconscious didn't help.
