thumb brushed

I surely knew that
YOU and ME were
never meant to be
written on the same
page.
so I go out every
night, looking for
your name just
to remember what
it felt to have
letters on the tips
of my fingers, but
I end up running
in circles with
nothing but the
whistles of the wind
to remind me that
our story got buried
before it was born.
I race the time to
beyond infinities
just to have a
glimpse of the boy
who has the poem
I could not bring
to life hung down
from his bottom
lip.
I watch the flames
devour every line
that once hugged
your body, aware
that no paper
could ever hold
what we had.
