☾THE JOURNEY☽

• • •

THALIA LIFTED THE FLAP OF HER TENT AND BEGAN TO PACK FOR THE JOURNEY THAT WAITED AHEAD.
As Thalia grabbed her weapons, she started to rethink her actions. However, her thoughts were interrupted when a worrisome Lucah entered her tent. "Please be careful Thalia," he says as he watches her load up her weapons into her pack.

"I'll be fine Lucah," she assures him, patting his shoulder while giving him a sly smile. "Your only focus should be on our people and making sure they don't do anything stupid while I'm gone."

"And I will make sure of that," he responds. "I just, I worry about you Thalia. Especially when you're outside of the gates."

Thalia threw her bag over her left shoulder as she pulled him into an embrace with her right arm to which he responded by wrapping his arms around her waist. "I have Orion, Elijah, and many more with me. If that doesn't say I'll be fine, then I don't know what does." Thalia leaned back and placed her right hand on his cheek. "Your job is too make sure nothing happens here."

In the position they were in, they both managed to get a good look of each other. Lucah couldn't help but let his eyes wander. His eyes flickered down to Thalia's plumped lips. His eyes connected with her warm brown ones that always manages to make his knees go weak. Without thinking, Lucah began to lean however Thalia caught onto it thus having her pull back her right hand and rest it on her side. At the sudden action, Lucah took that as his cue to unwrap his arms from her waist.

With a deep sigh, Thalia broke the awkward silence by making her way towards the exit of her tent. As she pulled back the flap, she couldn't help but look over her shoulder to spare one more glance at Lucah before leaving.

"Go easy on Octavia. I had to beg her to get into camp."

Bellamy stared at the blonde who he once called a friend but now, all he saw was a stranger. "What are you doing here Clarke?"

"We need to talk-" she begins.

"Oh, you've decided that? The mighty Wanheda who chose the grounders over her own people, who turned her back on us when we came to rescue you. Now, you want to talk?" Anger riled up inside him. Anger that he wanted to unleash and Clarke being here was not helping at all.

The blonde took a few steps forward. "I came to tell you that Ice Nation has paid a price. Justice has been served for the attack on Mount Weather. I came here to tell you, it's over."

Bellamys arms were crossed, his eyes looked anywhere but at Clarke. "There it is again. Why do you get to decide it's over?"

"We did our part," Clarke whispers.

"We?" Bellamy asks, taken back.

"Lexa and I!" Clarke says. "The Ice Queen is dead. The problem was solved and you let Pike ruin everything."

It was Bellamys turn to take a few steps forward, him and Clarke only a few inches apart from one another. "Why are you here Clarke?"

"Arcadia needs to make things right. Or Lexa and the twelve clans will wipe us all out," Clarke explains.

"Let them try," Bellamy responds, no trace of care was heard from his words. He wanted this. He wanted a war.

Clarke began to grow nervous, she can practically feel the tension in the room build slowly. "Please tell me that going to war is not what you want." She could not believe how this conversation with Bellamy was turning out.

"We've been at war since we landed. At least Pike understands that."

Clarke began to grow frustrated with Bellamy as his responses grew more idiotic. "Pike is the problem! This isn't who you are Bellamy!"

At that, Bellamy shakes his head. "You're wrong. This is who I've always been, and I let you and Octavia and Kane convince me that we could trust these people, when they have shown over and over who they are, and I won't let anyone else die from that mistake!" Bellamy's voice rose as each word suppressed his mouth, terrifying Clarke.

"Lexa and the twelve clans aren't the only ones who we should be worried about Bellamy! There are more of them out there! People that could probably wipe us out within seconds!" Clarke informs and stops herself from saying any more as she saw the look of curiosity strike Bellamy.

"Bellamy," Clarke mutters. "I need you. And we don't have much time."

"You need me?" Bellamy asks, his voice cracking.

"Yes I do," Clarke admits. "I need the guy who wouldn't let me pull the lever in Mount Weather by myself."

"You left me," Bellamy says. "You left everyone."

"Bellamy-"

"Enough Clarke!" Bellamy snaps. "You're not in charge here and that's a good thing because people die when you're in charge. As you were willing to let a bomb drop on my sister. Then you made a deal with Lexa who left us in Mount Weather to die and forced us to kill everyone who helped us! People who trusted me!"

"I just-" Clarke was speechless. She had no words to say. Bellamy was right, their was no arguing there. People trusted them. People who have helped her people, trusted them. They trusted her. "I'm sorry," Clarke manages to say, the lump in her throat began to throb. "I'm sorry for leaving you. But I knew I could because they had you."

Bellamy turned back around and crouched down to the girls eye level. He grabbed ahold of her hands and slowly rubbed them with his thumb in comfort. He knew what he needed to do the moment he saw hope in Clarke's eyes at the small action. "I know we can fix this," she assures him.

"I'm sorry too," he murmurs, and in a blink of an eye, he handcuffs Clarke to the table making her look at him in disbelief.

"Hey!" Clarke chokes up. "No, don't, no. Bellamy! Don't!" She tugged at the handcuffs, sobbing while doing so.

Not once did Bellamy turn around as he heard her cries of help. Clarke knew in that moment that all hope was lost the minute he shut the door.

Not only was hope gone, but so was Bellamy.

Days have passed since they had left their home. Many began to to grow familiar with their surroundings as they took in everything. Thalia started to recognize the familiar landscape that was Ice Nation's territory.

"Stop!" Thalia shouted causing everyone to come to a halt. "We're at the borderline of Ice Nation's. Will be resting here for the night. Orion and I will keep first watch then will be Elijah and Athena. All of you huddle in groups of ten."

As everyone began to settle down for the night, Thalia and Maximus slid off their horses and brought them to a resting spot of their own. Those who have brought a horse followed the same tactic. Many started to form campfires of their own in order to keep them warm from the cold night. Seeing as how they were near Ice Nations land, patches of snow were scattered around the ground. Once everyone had made their bedding, they were out like a light leaving Thalia and Orion alone.

Thalia sat on a log that was thankfully not covered in snow whereas Orion sat in front of her on the cold ground, his laziness had made him not want to make a comfortable sitting. While Thalia stared at her sleeping brother, Orion's eyes were on Thalia. "How do you think they're doing over there?" Orion asks, breaking the silence between them.

Thalia sighed. "Honestly, they're probably suffering right now." Orion laughed whereas Thalia chuckled. "But, I know Lucah and Rogue can handle them."

Orion didn't miss the longing look Thalia gave as she mentioned Lucah. The two may not see it when they were with each other but Orion did and it was aggravating for him. "You miss him," he points out.

"Them," Thalia corrected. "I miss them."

"But you miss him more," Orion remarks as he leans his back against the bark of the tree that was behind him. Thalia breaks her gaze away from Orion causing another poised silence to form between them.

"I know you don't like mentioning him but, it's fine to move on from Lincoln Thalia," Orion says, his eyes now back on Thalia making her squirm in her spot. "Lincoln would want you to be happy. For all you know, he may have taken your word and has already moved on. Obviously you wouldn't know since you haven't seen him but-" Orion stops as he takes in his words that were now processing in his head. "That's why you've agreed to this. You want to see him."

"Seven years is a long time to be away from someone you love Orion," Thalia says. "I don't want to see him for the reason you're thinking. I just want to make sure he's fine." Thalia inhales. "Whether you believe me or not, if he has moved on, then, I'd be happy for him. His happiness is all that matters to me."

Orion takes in her words. "If you've had this mindset for so long, why haven't you moved on with someone? And by someone I mean Lucah."

Thalia began to question herself. Her people were her first priority before anything; that included her happiness. Although she wasn't the one to hold the flame, everyone knew from the moment her black blood was discovered, she was too lead them. However, she always made time for herself when leading. Lucah was her escape but it wasn't an escape that made her want to run away with him forever.

"I think what I feel for Lucah isn't something to take serious. Yes, I may feel something for him but I don't think my emotions for him aren't to the point where I'd want something more with him. I enjoy our moments together but I feel like I'm missing something," she announces.

"Maybe that something might be you falling for the enemy," Orion jokes however Thalia didn't take a liking to the comment.

"You're hilarious." Thalia rolls her eyes as she throws a small pebble at him.

Orion shrugs. "Who knows, anything could happen."

As the two fell into a conversation of randomness, neither of them were aware of the several eyes that spied them from the trees above. An anonymous signaled out a sign to which another took that as their cue to shoot an arrow. The arrow had landed a centimeter away from Thalia's, alarming her right away as she took in the familiar symbol.

"Ice nation!"

AUTHOR NOTE

- Sorry for the very late upload. This chapter was a pain to edit! I'm still not proud of it but if I kept on touching it then I would have deleted everything so I'm sorry if the writing in this is horrible /:

- Just to make sure everyone isn't confused, when Thalia leaves it's the same day the messenger told her what was going on. so I when I say "days have passed" it's been like three/four days since she's left. So, for the sake of this book, let's all pretend that a lot of shit didn't go down after Bellamy handcuffs Clarke to the table & let's imagine that she is currently being held as a prisoner in Arcadia at the moment (: I'm gonna be honest, I'm not really focused on what's going on in Arcadia. My main focus is getting Thalia there!
