Chapter 2:

Y/n POV:

I know when that hotline bling.

My phone shakes, interrupting my Netflix binge watching.

I read the screen, and it shows an unknown number.

Probably another business person.

The number kept calling me for numerous times, and I was so close to throwing my phone at the wall.

But that'd be my 5th phone broken if I did proceed to do so.

I pick up and was about to snap at the caller, because the best part was about to come in Flash.

"Oh my god, please sto-" I try to finish my sentence, but it gets cut out by Matt.

"Hey Y/n!" Damn, this boy got energy.

I sigh, I've had enough of him already.

He calls me a hoe, and then all of a sudden, pretends it's all normal again.

How'd he even get my number?

Look, I know I was all bright and happy with him earlier, but if someone who keeps disrupting you and is all over your face all day, wouldn't you think you would've had your taste of him?

And calls you a hoe but not really calling you a hoe. That's an asshole if you ask me.

I mask my bitchy self and try to be calm while I talk through the phone.

"What do you want? Is there any requests for me to go down someone's pants, because I'm a natural at being at a guys' house? " I spat at him.

"It was a mistake. And you forgot already?" He says and just as I almost said about what, the invitation pops up in my mind.

I wasn't the type of bitch to ditch, because of a small thing. I'd move on from it anyways.

"Imma have to ask my mom first. But be sure to hide because boy it's not gonna be pretty when you see me." I sounded like a total bitch, but I treat you just the way you treat me. Plus, I was half joking.

"For sure. Call me back. I'm sorry again." He sincerely apologizes, and I laugh.

"It's okay, I get it a lot." I hang up and sadly, it's true.

I immediately get out of the theater room, and scream, "Hey Mom!"

"I'm trying to finish my work, honey. Can we talk later?" She replies.

"I promise it'll take a millisecond out of your life." I tell her.

"Okay what is it?" She screams back, because she was downstairs at her office.

"Can I go to my friend's for awhile?" Silence followed and all of a sudden, a yes comes out of her mouth.

"Are you guys just gonna go to the mall?" I know she expected a yes, but I proved her wrong, "No, it's his house."

"His?" I told you, I was a small innocent child. Didn't seem like it, but I have restrictions.

"Yeah a 'his', new kid in school." I go downstairs, because this shouting is killing my throat.

She faces me, and studies me.

"Sure. Make sure you guys don't do anything I'm thinking right now though." She jokes, and I gag.

"Who do you think I am?" We both laugh but considering I had no time left, I needed to rush and get myself ready.

I run upstairs to get changed and call my best friend, Amber.

"Oh my god, Y/n! Guess what?" She sings.

Well someone is happy.

"Girl, I have something too! You go first." I inform.

"Okay so, I got invited to hangout by this boy." She says.

"Matt?" I ask.

"Yeah... How'd you know?" She replies.

"Maybe cause he asked me too?" I tell her.

"Is he playing us?" I realize and ask myself and her.

"Probably not, he told me it was a homecoming party." Okay, but he told me it was just us who's gonna hang out.

"Pick me up!" She commands, and I nod and end the call with confusion planted on my face.

There wasn't a second I was without the boy, how does she know about him?

~

I change into a lace maroon romper and grab my jean jacket.

"Bye mom!" I wave bye at her, and she waves back not prying her eyes off the computer.

I close the door, and open the garage.

I get in my baby also known as my white corvette and drive out of the driveway to pick up Amber.

"Bring a swimsuit." My music gets replaced by a text from Matt.

"Are you kidding me? I'm already like a mile out." I continue to go to my best friend's house and let's just hope she has another pair.

~

"Ambie, I'm here!" I shout out impatiently.

"Coming, and I got your bikini." She winks, and hops in the car.

"Thanks girly and you look smoking!" I compliment her cute off the shoulder top with jeans outfit.

"You too girl!" We both giggle, ready to get some.

Will Grier POV:

The doorbell rang, and no one noticed, because everyone is currently having the time of their lives.

I run up to our door, to be greeted by Amber and a girl.

"Were you guys invited?" I question politely.

"Yeah by Matt." The girl with hazel eyes, and athletic body responds.

"Oh yeah, he told me about you and hi Amber!" I wave at her.

She's a family friend from childhood, too bad we haven't had contact in years even though we live like 20 minutes away from each other.

Y/n's face makes us laugh, and I tell her about how we're childhood friends.

"Wait, but why did that Matt kid invite me?" She asks, eyebrows furrowed.

"Someone's got an eyes on you." I do the elbow tap thing and invite them to get in.

The girls laughs hysterically, "Nope, not gonna happen."

Nash comes in from the backyard to refill the punch container.

"Yo Nash, Amber and Y/n is here." He jogs up to us, all shirtless, and offered his muddy hands to the girls.

"Ha, no thanks." Y/n slaps his hand playfully.

"Aw, but why would a pretty girl deny a pretty boy?"

"Maybe, because the 'pretty boy' isn't pretty after all."

"ROASTED!" I shout while laughs echoed around us.

I can tell everyone can get along with this girl which reminds me of someone.

"By the way, do you know Jackson Butcher?"

"Yeah, he's my brother. Do you want a signature or something?" She casually says. I guess it's a part of her routine now, because I'm pretty sure she's been asked that a million times.

I mean he is an NFL player.

"I know him! This world is such a small place." I lead them both out to meet everyone.

"Then how come I haven't met Beyoncé?" Amber quotes Friends, and no one laughs.

"Cliche." Y/n, Nash and I say at the same time.

We look at each other and laugh bursts out of us.

"Y'all are strange." Amber shakes her head while joining us.

Y/n POV:

"Let's get changed first." Amber gets me back in the house, and we go to the bathroom.

A complicated black bikini was handed to me and boy, was it revealing.

~

We step out again to the backyard, and would you look at that?

All eyes were laid on us.

The only girls in the party were us, and a group of four playing with a guy in the pool.

"Y/n!" Matt comes over, finally breaking the silence.

"And Amber." He awkwardly smiles at her and she scoffs.

"What's wrong with you two?" I laugh at their childish behavior.

"Nothing." They sync up.

What is it with everyone saying things at the same time today?

The vibes were opposite of what I had expected, but I couldn't lie, it was pretty fun.

"COWABUNGA!" A blue-eyed boy that looks like Nash earlier shouts and cannonballs into the pool.

Everyone then jumps after him including me.

Water splashed from everywhere and a fun night started from there.

~

"You guys down to go watch a movie or something?" I request and everyone nods while we sip the famous hot coco I made.

"I call Y/n's corvette!" Matt beats Amber, and comes out a groan.

"You thought." I joke, and Matt pouts.

"Ladies first!" Amber winks at him, and  Shawn stands up with us.

"True, so it'll be me, Amber, and Y/n in the car. Right, ladies?" Oh Shawn...

"Duh!" I play it off with him.

Everyone else makes plans, and in the end, we meet up at the front of the mall.

It was me, Amber, Shawn, and Matt in the car.

As much as I hated Matt, and how he's been acting all night. I was the only one who had a free seat for him.

I shake it off anyways and tried to enjoy my soon to be fun car ride.

When all of us gets in and buckles up, I mischievously say, "Get ready."

Beside me, I hear Amber's oh no.

Slowly, the car gets to the road and after a few seconds, I revved up the engine and sped off.

I look at the side mirror, and see everyone's face thrilled and in shock.

This drive is for sure going to be fun.

~

"Holy sh*t that was one hell of a ride!" I exclaim, and Shawn high fives me.

Matt and Amber looked so nauseous that I thought they were gonna barf any minute now.

"If you say so." Matt mumbles while he holds his tummy.

"Okay, lets go before you erupt on my beautiful beige leather seats. " As a 'great' friend, I grab their hands and lead them to the theater with Shawn chuckling behind us.

~

"You're here! Finally!" Mahogany's eyes light up.

I playfully roll my eyes at her, and say, "Not my fault these two are such pussayssss."

The nauseous pair glares at me, and tries to talk but fails.

"Woah, what's up with them?" Taylor comes towards us and I tense up.

"Uh- T-they were just sick from my skills of driving." I stutter and I feel a nudge at my back from Shawn.

"Oh really? What car do you drive Y/n?" He challenges.

"2015 Stingray Convertible Corvette, but you can call it the best car in the world. That works too." I wink at him.

Wouldn't you call me a natural at this.

Sike, I was nowhere near.

"No way! I have the same car back at Indiana." We got too much in common already.

Love at first sig-

Nope.

Not gonna happen, Y/n.

Not with him.

You see back at the pool party or whatever it was, remember the four girls I mentioned? That's who he was hogging and kissing. Not playing with water, but playing with their hearts.

Last thing I want to end up in is with a broken heart.

A hand grasps on to me and pulls me to the line with the others, "What movie you wanna watch?" Matt, who's breath was absolutely horrid, asks casually. He acted like he wasn't all douchey earlier to me.

I swear this boy is bipolar.

"Do I smell jealousy?" Amber calls.

"It's only been a day. Jesus Christ, they ain't gon make a baby." Cameron, who was at the end of the line with us, states

"Just trying to save a girl from getting sucked into a f*ckboy's tricks." Matt defensively responds.

"Hey!" Taylor shouts over him.

As much as I wanted to say that it wasn't just him, I closed my mouth.

"No guy, no drama." I thought to myself, I've learned from the past.

Before I got stuck, I slip out to the side and go on snapchat.

~

"Hey Y/n, you been thinking about getting into UCLA for basketball?" Gilinsky suddenly pops outta nowhere.

"Actually, yeah. I've been scouted through their campus, and it looks pretty dope." A guy who acknowledged my athletic abilities instead of my brother's, that's new.
"That's nice! I've seen your highlights, and you're pretty good. Maybe you could hoop with Johnson and I next time." He grins, and I accept the invitation.

"Then better practice." I sarcastically say.

"Nah, YOU better practice." He boasts.

"Pfff, I mastered that already. Maybe you should go work out too." We continue to make comebacks as a joke until we were sat at the movie seats.

"Y/n, wanna grab some popcorn?" Matt asks and I obliged.

"So what's up with you and my Blondie?" Bringing up the subject was not a pleasant idea.

"I don't know if I should say these, because your her best friend. So, nothing." He walks faster to the station and after that, we never spoke to each other the whole night.

Why do I even try with him?

~

"Thanks for the VIP tickets, Y/n!" Hayes, a little brother I gained, chimes in.

"I gotchu!"

"Shut up!" A man calls from the bottom .

"Well someone's salty." Carter yells back.

We barely were even halfway through the movie, but we ended up getting kicked out.

Good times.

~

'It's 2 am, come home Y/n!'

I read the text message my mum sent, and I was in big trouble.

"Guys, I need to go home now." I say my goodbyes after we take pictures to post on our social medias.

"Bye pretty girl!" Nash jokingly sobs, and I wave bye to him.

"Bye not-so-pretty boy!" A scowl replaces his sadness, which makes me chuckle.

Amber left to go on a date with her boyfriend even though it was literally 2 am already.

She wild, but I'm even wilder.

Anyways, I get into the car only to see Hayes already in the shotgun seat.

"Count me in!" Shawn squeezes his way to the back and comes Johnson, Cam and Nash.

"Just saying, I'm not gonna send you guys back, because this girl is tired as hell." I warn, but they shrug.

~

"I GOT THAT SUMMERTIME SUMMER TIME SADNESS!" We all scream sing all the way to my house, but before that I actually sang the end correctly with Shawny boy.

"Woah." Johnson and the boy's jaws drop to the ground.

"Double woah." Hayes points to my house.

"Damn! What do you not have?" Nash points out.

"Thanks?" I supposed.

We all jump out, and the guys rush in to the doorbell.

"Your crib is huge!" Shawn exclaims, and I snicker.

"Tell that to my dad. He thinks this isn't enough."

Ding! Dong!

I press the button softly, and we wait.

"So, who you got your eyes on?" Nash smirks, still teasing me about Matt and Taylor.

"This guy named Chase in our school." I hear aws from them, clearly disappointed.

"Sorry, but she's out of the market." Jackson barges in our conversation, and Johnson stares at him blankly.

I didn't even notice when he opened the door.

I pushed Johnson's shoulder softly, but he stood frozen.

"Jackson Butler. Player for the Giants. Oh my god." Was all that came out of his mouth.

"That's me." My brother smiles from his reaction.

"Can you sign these for us please?" Johnson manages to say.

Did he have a script or something?

"Sure bro!" Jackson grabs the football that Johnson handed to him and signs his signature with a lil smile.

"Your house is huge!" Hayes remarks for the second time.

The guys were literally fangirling over him, so I pushed everyone inside the house and made them explore the wilderness of the Butcher family.

"Bruv, where's mum?"

"Dad and her went to Cali for takes, and sis' competition." He informs me.

Oh my god, I totally forgot.

I pull out my phone today for the millionth time and wished good luck to the GC.

I'm such a goldfish.

The boys all scatter in the house, and opens everything like it's Christmas Day. They had no filter, I swear but we didn't mind.

"Check this out!" Nash signs a permission for me, and I nod in response.

He presses the button, and an inside grill pops out  in the middle of the kitchen island.

Their jaws dropped just like mine did back then.

"Rad." If there's one person would say that, it'd be Johnson.

I could see us having a party in here.

I turn to my brother who just minded his own business and watched TWD on the TV.

"Bruv, do you know Will Grier?"

"#17 HS Football, and Running back? I think so." He shows off his so called 'amazing memory'.

Yeah, we were total opposites.

But we get a long pretty well.

Sometimes.

"Well, he told me that you should hit him up some time." I hand him my phone and he copies Will's number.

"Will do."

I go to the kitchen only to find the boys swimming through my snacks.

"Ew, cliff bars?" Shawn puts my favorite, peanut butter, up in the air.

"Ew? Whatchu mean? It's like the best snack in the world." I retort.

"No fruit snacks, or pop tarts? Damn, we ain't friends anymore." Cameron jokes.

"We were never friends." I tell him jokingly.

"Look at you! Already growing up as a young savage." He hugs my shoulder, and it sends warmth to my body.

Weird.

"I can tell you're vegan." Nash says as he eats my chic peas.

Before he could indulge all of it, I take it from him and cuddle it like a baby.

"Nope, can't have these. And excuse you, but I'm a vegetarian."

"Excuse you, I think I just saw you eating some grilled chicken!" My brother shouts.

"IT WAS A VEGAN SUBSTITUTE AND THAT WAS LAST YEAR JACKSON!" I defend myself jokingly.

"Vegan substitute? Ew." Shawn stuffs his mouth with the cliff bars he 'hates' and grabs some more of it.

I give him the I told you so face.

After all the rummaging and eating, I knew I had to go back to Trader Joe's tomorrow.

Geez, these guys should be fed more.

I look over at the couch to find Cam and Jackson talking like long lost twins or something.

Why does he remind me of someone from my childhood so much?

A handful of cliff bars and PlayStation fights later, all of us looked too tired to even breathe.

"Jackson, tomorrow at my house or Nash's, 1v1 me again in Madden." Johnson hands the controller to my brother, done with all the screaming and saying, "Touchdown!"

Jackson laughs, knowing he will take the W again.

"Ha, you guys are funny, but I think I'm taking that dub tomorrow."

I hear 'mhm's' from the guys, doubting my confidence.

"Watch me." I cross my arms in front of me and plops on the sofa with a bowl of skinny popcorn.

~

"Your house is heaven." Hayes again tells Jackson and I.

this boy.

Everyone decided to go home, because the peeps at Nash's house were starting to worry.

"Lemme take the boys home, seems like they're too drunk." My brother laughs at their food babies.

"Too drunk of MY food. Thanks again for the party Nash!" I hug each of them tightly, happy to find people who were like me again.

"Nah, thank you for feeding us." He
hugs me back, and they follow Bruv to the garage.

"Good Lord! How many doors do you guys have?" I burst out laughing at Haye's amusement.

"TWO LAMBORGHINIS. OH LORD. I'M IN LOVE." I can tell the guys were all over my dad's cars.

I giggle to myself.

If only they see our garage in Bahamas.

I go up to my bedroom, ready for sleep to slap me in the face.

But instead, I look for my journal.

I shuffle through my backpack only to find trash.

Wait...

Oh my god.

Was it the one that I dropped?

I run downstairs, hoping for the boys to still be drooling over the cars but emptiness was all I saw.

"F*ck!" I curse out loud.

I know, it's a 6th grade thing to write on a 'journal' and be jotting down goals in life, but I was taught to do so.

It kind off died down, but sometimes you just wanna spill your feelings into a book.

Not gonna lie, it does get cringy.

My phone screen lights up.

It was text from Matt, and it said,

"Hola señiora."

Okay, I've come to a solution that this boy is indeed bipolar.

"By any chance, do you think you can still deliver my book to me?"

"Oh, what's that song about Chase again?"

That jerk! He read my journal. I knew he had some bad blood in him.

"Chill, just give it to Jackson when he comes there please."

He read the text, but didn't respond.

What?

That's my job.

~

Jackson gets in the house without waking me up, and set aside a letter and the 'book' on my vanity.

I forgot to take off my make up, typical, so I went to the restroom.

I got time up in my sleeve after so I read it only to see:

You're invited to be a guest of MAGcon!

Needless to say, life was just getting better.

Or so I thought...
