Winter/holiday prompt:
24: "I hope you break your ass on that ice."
Theo had the remarkable idea to go to New York for a week while it was winter. You agreed without any hesitation and within two weeks, the two of you were in Manhattan. It was absolutely beautiful and far busier than your little hometown of Beacon Hills. Sure, you felt like a tourist but you didn't care, not even a little bit.
It was very cold, however. You had to actually have a winter coat with a hoodie and warm clothes, a scarf and a hat. Compared to your normal California attire, you felt as though you were walking into the arctic but you didn't let that bring down your mood. It was fun and you were with Theo.
Theo, though, did have an idea to take you to Central Park and go ice skating. Of course, knowing his background, you had to question if he could even ice skate. Theo being Theo, simply said it would be no big deal. He could skateboard and he could rollerblade. Ice skating couldn't possibly be that hard.
"I hope you break your ass on that ice." You state as you watch Theo slowly take a step onto the ice, people avoiding him.
"I'm not gonna fall, babe." Theo states with full confidence.
"Sure, you're not." You say with sarcasm as you follow him onto the ice.
"See, look. Steady." He gestures his arms out, proving he can stand on ice in skates.
"Okay, cool, but can you move?" You cross your arms and wait for him to start moving.
Theo pushes and attempts to start skating but before he actually goes anywhere, he slips and his immediate response was to grab you to keep him steady. To both of your dismays, it didn't go that way. Instead of helping him regain his footing, you fell right along with him. You burst out laughing despite the numbing pain shooting through hip where you fell.
"Are you okay?" Theo asks, far less amused.
"I'm fine." You continue to laugh. "It's just really funny. Mr. 'I don't need any help' pulls me down because he can't stand more than two minutes."
"You're not funny!" Theo groans.
"I'm funny and you love me." Your laughing starts to subside as you give him a cheeky grin. "C'mon. I'll help you." You get back to your feet with ease and help him to his feet. "We should make this a thing, go ice skating once a week at the rink."
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, only if you never tell anyone I fell." Theo grips your hands as you help him skate.
"Deal." You give a wide smile.
