woojin looked at his wrist watch, 6:25pm. five more minutes until he picks up aera from her house. he was already ready, an hour before. he was super nervous, actually, nervous would be an understatement.
woojin and aera actually color coordinated their outfits that night. not really color coordinate but they just matched the colors of their dress and suit. a dark navy blue. coincidentally, their favorite color was the same. haters would say it's fake.
6:30pm. woojin took a last look at himself in the mirror before taking his car keys and scrambled out the house. he got his driving license a few weeks after his birthday and honestly he wasn't the best driver yet. but he said he would get the hang of it after a few runs.
woojin parked his car outside aera's house, surprisingly alive. woojin huffed a sigh before walking to the door to press the doorbell.

the doorbell rang, "he's here. jinwoo can you get the door please i'm trying to stand!" aera yelled while trying to put on her heels. jinwoo, who was sitting in the living room groaned, but stood up to get the door anyways. he opened the door to be greeted by woojin in a suit.
jinwoo looked at him head to toe with a smile, which made woojin so nervous he wanted to pee.
"hey man," he greeted him with a big smile while pulling woojin in for a bro hug. jinwoo looked at woojin again, "my sister is one lucky girl." he complimented.
woojin waved his hands in denial, "i'm the lucky one."
after a few centuries, aera finally decided to go downstairs. she heard woojin and jinwoo chatting in the living room about games, of course. after hearing the clicking of her shoes, woojin stood up to the stairs. to be greeted with a girl he admired so much, standing there, with her eyes on him.

aera walked down the stairs carefully, trying not to fall on her face. she heard the two boys stop talking, probably because they heard her going down. then she was greeted by the boy she had learned to admire so much, standing at the end of the staircase. with his eyes on her. and aera swore she was about to die.
"you're really out here looking so damn good," she complimented him with a soft smile. woojin smiled, "god you look amazing."
woojin couldn't wait to let everyone know this girl right here was his date. and aera couldn't wait to scream at her brother about woojin after she comes home tonight.
jinwoo turned to look at the clock, "uh, i think it's time for you guys to go. wouldn't want to be late am i right?" he asked while pushing the two out the door and throwing aera her house keys. she was about to protest before getting cut by her brother, "just be home before 3am, i'll deal with mom and dad." he said while giving them a wink.
the two later got into woojin's car and woojin went into his third adventure after getting his license. which included getting yelled at by aera for driving too slow, then again for driving too fast, and driving at 30km/h on the fast lane, turning into the wrong junction, twice, cutting cars but wasn't fast enough and almost getting skinned by a lorry.
though, they arrived on time. and alive.

the group of friends finally went into the ballroom, after waiting for jihoon to park his car, go to the washroom, and find his prom ticket. that he left in the car.
the night went on pretty well, aera and woojin swore that they were gonna eat back the hundred bucks they paid for the tickets. jinyoung and shin ah were pretty much sticking to each other the whole night. daehwi and guanlin were hitting it on the dance floor, jamming to songs so hard in public. guanlin even lost his shoe.
everything was going well, until they announed prom king and queen. everything became a mess.
"bae jinyoung and jung shin ah!"
the group of friends cheered and yelled, flashing their cellphone flash lights, being those annoying friends you see on television. shin ah literally fell on her way up the stage. but laughed it off anyways while jinyoung helped her up.
which caused a ruckus among the group of art friends. aera hitting woojin's shoulder while screaming, daehwi and woojin screaming, and guanlin recording the whole thing on his snapchat. like usual.
the next award was best couple. woojin was eating when suddenly daehwi started to comb his hair with a hair brush. "what the-" woojin mumbled, daehwi was really serious about the whole hair combing thing.
"they're announcing best couple now, we all know who's gonna win. so you better look your best when you two walk up the stage to get the aw-"
"the best couple award goes to, lee daehwi and lai guanlin!"
daehwi literally threw the brush away and screamed while jumping around with guanlin. his sudden action shocked woojin, who was drinking his soup. which resulted in him choking a little and aera patting his back.
the best couple walked up the stage hand in hand, waving to the other students and nodding their heads. guanlin literally gave a whole speech when he accepted his crown.
"firstly, i want to thank my parents. i also want to thank my teachers, my friends and especially my fellow snakes! i love you all my fans, thank you for your support!"

the night ended after another hour plus. the group of art friends decided to go get some sushi at a 24-hours sushi place after changing out from their dress and suits and a lot of complaining by jihoon, who was paying by the way.
shin ah who sat across of aera kicked her leg under the table, causing aera to hiss in pain and throw her a glare. shin ah glanced at aera, then at her phone. hinting aera to check her phone. aera gave the girl a side eye, curious to what she wanted her to see.

aera chuckled at shin ah's message, smiling at her phone from ear to ear. woojin saw her laugh beside him. the others were too busy chatting and gobbling up sushi.
woojin leaned towards her, casually laying his head on her shoulders, "whatcha laughing at" he asked. aera turned her phone away from him, "i don't need to tell you everything." she answered nonchalantly.
"just tell me." he whined.
"no. why should i? i'm not your girlfriend." she answered sternly.
woojin turned to look at her for a moment, then he scooted closer to her while aera was looking at him with a glare.
"then would you consider on being my girlfriend?"
