Liam looks at Jake and I how stiff we both look when we saw each other.
"Honey, this is our new employee," Maggie said introducing Jake and I.
"Hi..." he said putting his hand out.
"hello," I said shaking his hand.
We awkwardly shake hands and quickly put our hands at our side.
"Honey, you seem tense," Maggie said wrapping her arms around his arm.
"Sorry honey, I was stressed at work today."
"My poor baby," she cooed at him.
"Honey, please...." he whispers.
It's so awkward seeing my boss with my ex boyfriend.
How do I say this.....it's weird.
Jake was the only one I loved and been with for long time than any past boyfriend I had. We were honestly thought about marriage, but we fell apart.
"You two should head home," Maggie said to Liam and I.
"See you tomorrow, Maggie," I said walking fast to the door.
"Wait!" Jake said.
I look back sort of mortified that he stop me.
Liam is having some suspicion to our meeting.
"honey?" Maggie said.
"Maggie....um..." he starts off.
Is he going to tell her?!
"how about we take them home by our car. I put in gas today," he said.
WHAT IS HE DOING!?!?!?
"Are you sure, honey?" Maggie said.
"yeah, it's getting dark and I want to make sure these two are safe," Jake said.

"We're not high schoolers," Liam said.
"We're okay taking the bus," I said.
"I insist. I take you two home," Jake said.
"come on, you two. You don't have to pay money for the fare today," Maggie said making a positive out of this.
I look at the door seeing the sky getting dark.
I don't want to walk alone.
"okay," I said.
"Liam?" Maggie said.
"I will also go."
At least, I have Liam with me.

We walk out of the cafe and see this toyota car park in front of the cafe. Jake press the button unlocking the car. Jake helps Maggie to the passenger seat. Liam and I sat in the backseat. Our knees and elbow were touching. Jake took the driver seat.
This is so uncomfortable.
"How was work?" Jake said staring the car.
"the usual," she said.
"how about you two in the back?" Jake ask.
He looks at the mirror and sees his eyes were focus on me.
What should I say?
"Still learning...." I said sweating through my palms.
"How's your work as being a doctor?" Liam said.
"you know the usual," he said.
The cars starts to move and Jake ask the direction to our houses. Liam was the closest. His place doesn't seem far from Saya's apartment.
"I'll stop at his stop," I said. "it's actually close to the apartment."
"Are you sure?" Jake ask.
"yes, I'll be fine," I said.
"I can take you home."
"it's okay."
Jake was concern. He must be worried about that attack I had and want to know how I was doing.
I just don't want to see him or be near him right now.
"By the way, honey did you reach that women?" Maggie said.
Jake laughs nervously, "what women?"
"that women who-"
"honey! did you buy the christmas presents for your nephews and neice?" he interrupt.
"shoot! I knew I forgot something," she said.

This is the most worst awkward car ride I ever been.

"Stop here," Liam said.
Jake parks the car. Liam and I got out of the car.
Thank goodness, I'm free.
"get home safe, you two," Maggie said.
"Thanks for the ride," I said.
"no problem," Maggie said.
"how far is your home?" Jake ask me.
I rather not answer.
"it's around the corner," I said.
Jake didn't ask any furthur.
"I'll take her home," Liam volunteer.
I look at Liam and looks back at me.
Oh....crap. He knows.
"Bye you two," Maggie said as the windows roll up.
They drive away.
I am left standing with Liam folding his arms.
"talk," he said.
"What," I play dumb.
"You know Jake, don't you?"
"who? him? yeah right."
My lying skills are so bad. Why!!!!!
Liam sighs, "are you having affair with him?"
"What! no!" I quickly answer that.
He stare at me for awhile if my eyes will turn away.
I didn't.
Then, he sighs.
"I can tell you two know each other. Those body language was obvious. Whatever you two are, it needs to stop. Maggie is with him. If you are having affair with him, it should end now."
I start to laugh.
"are you kidding, right?"
"do you see me laughing?" Liam said.
" I AM NOT HAVING AFFAIR WITH JAKE!" I raise my voice.
I scramble my hair.
"YOU KNOW, WHAT FORGET IT! I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK! I HAVE MY OWN LIFE TO WORRIED ABOUT THAN YOU THINKING I'M HAVING AFFAIR WITH HIM! LOOK IN THE MIRROR BUDDY! I AM NOT THE ONE GOOGLING EYEING ON A SOON TO BE BRIDE! NEWS FLASH, LIAM SHE'S TAKEN!"
Liam eyes flare, "You think I'm in love with my boss."
"Hey, it's written all of your face," I said.
"She's my boss. I am her right hand man."
"She's your crush you can't have."
"Says the women who wants a sex buddy."
"What?" I glare at him.
"You're those kind of women that sleeps with any men she pleases. you will never be satisfied with yourself."
I put my hands into a fist and release it.
"I never want to find love.I have experience countless times of getting hurt, used and not working out. The hope in me wants to find it, but I know there isn't none in my heart. I don't sleep with other men for satifiaction. If I would, I will never pick you if you give me a million dollars."
Like that, I walk away. Liam was dumbfound what I had to said to him.
As I was walking away, I knew something about myself.
I can never find love. No matter how many times, I will search. it will ever come. If I did, I know I will end it.
