Rosie's POV
Me and Archie were waiting in the car in silence.
David had already gone inside but he said it would be safe to wait until people arrive so we can bend in with the crowd.
"Now that I'm getting a better look at you, you look kinda like a magician," I spoke.
"I do not." He pouted. "I look awesome."
"Mhmm." I hummed sarcastically.
"I'm bored let's just go inside." He complained.
"No! If we don't wait for a crowd to arrive we won't blend in." I pointed out.
He pouted and crosses his arms over his chest like a toddler who just got told no.
I rolled my eyes and looked out the windshield.
"Is that a limo!?" I asked as a limo pulled up.
"That's Josie." Archie pointed out.
"Why does she have a limo?"
"She probably slept with one of the rich kids."
Josie got out of the limo along with Riley and Kate.
Riley and Kate were wearing short gray dresses while Josie was wearing a bright pink one. Probably to make her stand out.
Josie was dressed as Aurora. Her costume came with a mask but she just kept it in her hands not even being bothered to wear it.
Riley and Kate had masks to but they didn't wear them either.
I noticed Josie's nose seemed perfectly fine now. Like I never even punched her.
Guess she slept with a doctor to fix it before the dance. There's no way a human could heal that fast.
Soon other people began to arrive. Everyone had different costumes and dresses but no one bothered to wear the mask in their hands.
"They're so boring. What's the point of a masquerade if no one wears their mask?" I complained.
"Don't worry about it. We'll be the only cool ones." Archie smiled.
"Let's go." I smirked as I pulled my mask from my head to my eyes and nose. Archie did the same.
Me and Archie stepped out of the car.
Instead of walking towards the front entrance with the large crowd arriving we went around the school to the other entrance near the cafeteria.
The music was blasting loud even from the outside.
Once we were there I texted David to unlock the doors.
Archie's POV
I can't believe it.
I'm finally going to be with me mate in public without anyone knowing!
My mom won't know me and Rosie are here since she is human.
My dad was her werewolf mate.
Sure, Josie might figure out it's us but my mom won't listen to her.
She thinks I'll do whatever it takes to go back home with her.
She thinks I made a mistake. That I'm just confused about who I love.
Think again mom. I'm about to prove to you that I did make the right choice.
Rosie's POV
I saw David threw the small glass window coming to unlock the doors.
He unlocked it and let us in.
"Took you guys long enough." He complained.
"You were the one who told us to wait." I pointed out.
He rolled his eyes and began running back to the gym.
"Ready for some fun?" I asked Archie.
"You know I am. Just don't drink."
"Don't worry I won't."
We began walking towards the gym. I placed my phone in my built-in pockets in my dress and zipped up the small zipper.
Good thing this dress has pockets otherwise I would get annoyed by clenching my phone in my hands the entire night.
As we walked into the gym I felt people's gazes on me. I looked around and saw everyone minding their own business.
Everyone was dancing, grinding on their partner, or just trying to hide the flask they snuck in.
Some of the girls were at the dessert table trying to flirt with David. Good luck. Note the sarcasm.
I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket. I took it out and looked at the screen.
'You look gorgeous Darling ;)'- Secret Admirer.
I texted back.
'Who did you know it was me?'-Me.
'Darling it is easy to spot the prettiest girl in the room. I know it's you hiding behind that mask.'- Secret Admirer.
I looked around the gym to find out what person was texting me but there were a lot of people on their phones so it was hard to tell.
'You won't find me Darling. Not yet. I promise soon.'- Secret Admirer.
'We'll see.'- Me.
I put my phone back into my pocket. Archie just ditched me and went to the dessert table with David.
I could see Josie flirting with some guys while trying to show off her cleavage.
Damn that girl ruined Sleeping Beauty for me.
On the other side of the gym I could see Violet doing the same. She was wearing one of her black stripper dresses.
I recognize it from her closet.
She also had a mask but kept it in her hands.
Why is every girl here so boring.
I slow song came on. Cue my awkward self.
I just stood there not doing anything.
I felt someone tap my shoulder as a large spark shot up my entire arm.
I turned around and saw a guy who a gold face mask with black lines and a white button-up shirt.
"Hi?" I greeted.
"Do you want to dance?" He asked me with a smile.
His voice sounded familiar.
"Sure." I answered. "But keep those wandering hands to a minimum."
He chuckled and put his hands around my waist as I put my arms over his shoulders.
We began to sway to the slow best music.
"Do you usually attend these kinds of things?" He asked me.
"Not really. This is actually my first high school dance." I admitted.
"Well then I'm glad to be your first slow dance partner." He smirked.
"Who said you were my first slow dance partner?" I raised an eyes brow.
He shrugged as his grip on my waist got tighter. "I just assumed."
I felt my phone vibrate twice. I pulled it out and looked at the screen as Mystery Guy in front of me just stared at my face with a smile.
Creepy.
'I don't like seeing you dancing with him Darling.'- Secret Admirer.
'What are you going to do?'- Me.
I went to the second text from a blocked number.
'I'm warning you Rosie Ryder. One move I don't like and your secret will be exposed. Get away from him!'- Unknown.
I didn't reply to that text message. I put my phone back into my pocket and looked back at Mystery Guy.
"Are you ok?" He noticed my change in mood.
"Yeah I'm fine." I lied. I was on edge.
Now there are two people spying on me!
He pulled me closer to him. "You can tell me anything if you want. You can trust me."
"How can I? You're wearing a mask, Stranger." I joked.
He chuckled. "You're wearing one too."
"So what makes you think you can trust me?"
He pulled me closer. "I just can."
I felt another buzz from my phone. I pulled it out and looked at the screen.
'Last chance, Darling. Get away from him before I resort to violence.'- Secret Admirer.
'What are you going to do?'- Me.
I looked around the gym until my eyes landed on a masked figure in the corner.
Is that-
"Everybody down!" A loud voice boomed along with the sound of gunshots.
Mystery Guy kneeled down to the ground and pulled me down with him.
I looked down at phone as it vibrated.
'This will teach you a lesson Darling.'- Secret Admirer.
I heard Mystery Guy growl beside me as more masked thugs began entering the gym.
I know that growl anywhere.
Johnathan!?
Oh Hell no!
