EVER FIND YOURSELF with plans during school break only to wake up on a Tuesday morning and...nothing? You could go through the whole day doing absolutely nothing without regretting one bit. That was exactly how Gracie Biers' Tuesday went, so Wednesday came sooner than she thought it would. Gracie knew Bella and Jacob were supposed to go cliff diving today. Even last night Bella rang Gracie about it, that's how excited she was. Something told her that nothing would stop Bella from jumping - for the rush. Gracie was down at Jacob's early in the morning, way earlier than she'd ever imagine to be awake.

"Hey, I didn't know you were coming round today!" Embry beamed as he rushed to give Gracie a hug. As per usual, the other boys cheered him on to make everything just so awkward.

She shrugged at his comment, noticing the boys seemed like they were heading out somewhere. "You guys got plans?"

"Er...Just wolf business." Jared began, but Jacob cut him off.

"We just came back from a fresh trail so we're headed back out with the rest of the pack to finish this once and for all." Jacob explained.

"How many of them are here?" Gracie asked, half frightened.

They each exchanged a look, clearly not wanting to tell her something.

"You'd be surprised..." Paul answered, and then that was it. The broadness of answers from specific questions always got to her.

Paul and Jared practically bounded out of the Black's house, trying to beat one another out. Jacob walked over to her first, kissed his friend's forehead lightly then continued out to where Paul and Jared were. Embry smiled at her, coming closer. His hand gently rested over her elbow as her arms were crossed.

"We'll be fine, I promise. Just, don't go out into the forest today. Not without me at least." Embry's soft voice had a sense of plea in it.

Clearly they were hunting a vampire, like that Laurent guy not long ago. The thought of another prowling around made Gracie shudder a little.  Her hand brushed his neck, rubbing her thumb gently over his jaw. She made the move this time, pulling him in to a small, quick kiss for reassurance. He then kissed her forehead and headed outside. She thought it'd be best if she stayed with Billy, now not wanting to even go outside at all. The other reason was because she knew the boys would return here at some point of the day. Gracie sat beside Billy, as he placed down a bowl of cereal for her to eat as well. Not a moment later, Bella's truck pulled in the driveway.  Gracie looked to the front door, Billy still eating his cereal with not a single care. The weather seemed to have changed a bit since she'd arrived in the early morning; thick blankets of clouds covering the sky and was quite chilly whenever the wind would blow. Bella took about five minutes until she'd ventured out to the front door, knocking quietly.

"C'mon in, Bella," Billy said, still eating his cereal without looking up once.

"Jake sleeping?" She asked, openly the screen door.

"Er, no." Billy spoke, setting down his spoon, then looking to Gracie.

"What happened?" Bella demanded, leaning on the table right beside her. She dared to look up, her eyes searching for any information about Jacob.

"He's with Embry, and the rest of the pack. They said something about a fresh trails early this morning to finish it off." Gracie explained, to which Billy finished.

"Sam was hopeful - she's apparently hedged herself in beside the mountains. He thinks they have a good chance to finish this."

"Billy, no. Oh no!" Bella beginning to whisper to herself, pacing up and down.

Gracie stood up whilst Billy continued to remain calm in his explanation. "It's not as dangerous for them as it is for you. Sam knows what he's doing. You're the one that you should worry about. That vampire doesn't want to fight them, she wants to fight you, Bella."

She looked to Bella, her face crunching as she struggled to comprehend. "Laurent was after you, this new vampire is also after you...Why are they after you, Bella?"

Bella ignored her questions, continuing to demand Billy. "How does Sam know what he's doing? He's only taken down one vampire, maybe it was luck!"

Gracie bit her lip, looking back to Billy who went back to his breakfast. Bella ran her hand through her hair then looked to her best friend.

"I'll be at the beach, Billy!" She called to him, looking at Gracie as an invitation.

Gracie got up, knowing she couldn't leave Bella alone at the beach. Especially with this vampire around, even though she would be as of no help whatsoever but for comforting reasons, she'd be great company. When Bella said she'd be heading to the beach, Gracie took it as if she meant driving to the beach, not walking through the damn forest Embry had told me to stay clear of. As they got closer to the forest line it seemed oddly...quiet. There were no birds, no squirrels, nothing. It was silent. The silence was eerie but not eerie enough for Bella. She turned to the blonde, noticing her look.

"Embry said to not go into the forest, Bella! Please!" Gracie begged as she stared at the trees.

Bella didn't give an answer, but began running. Bella was running fast through the forest and Gracie followed right behind, calling after her. The whole thing was stupid. She was running so fast in fear of something or someone taking her. Possibly that vampire! Gracie tripped over a large log, tumbling down which ached her shoulder. She looked up, and Bella was gone. Gracie stayed still, in silence. she was in forest, alone. She wasn't going to lie, she was petrified. Something flashed passed her, a hint of orange. Again and again the flashes got slower and more prominent in vision. It was a vampire for sure, with immense speed like Laurent had, but only this one was female.

A female vampire with red hair.

Gracie whipped her head around quickly, trying to spot the figure's location until there was a thud a few metres in front of her. The mysterious woman was frightening. Vivid red hair with red eyes that she could see from where she was. Gracie had practically forgotten to breathe. Before she knew it Gracie heard large thuds behind her, but she didn't turn away from the lady. The red-haired woman took off with extreme speed, as a sandy-coloured wolf sprinted ahead beside a large black wolf. Two others followed behind, whilst the third stopped beside Gracie. She saw her reflection from the wolf which bore fur of dark grey and his face was of the colour silver. Her body felt warm, and she drew a smile on her face which reflected from the wolf's eye. Gracie knew this had to be Embry, it was just like the vision when he imprinted. He looked forward, tilting his ears as if he could hear something, then took off beside a tree. Gracie stood up, walking not to the tree but forward, toward where Bella was supposed to be.

"Hey, you!" A male voice called out from behind. She didn't turn around, but continued forward. Embry jogged to catch up behind her. He grabbed the girl's wrist to stop her. "What the hell were you doing out in the woods, alone? After everything I told you, especially!"

"Bella. I was chasing after Bella when I tripped." Gracie quickly rambled to which his grip loosened.

He cocked his head slightly, "Wait, she left you?"

"That doesn't matter, what matters is if she's safe and..." Gracie began to speak quickly trying to get him to follow her.

"No! I don't care about Bella's safety. I only care about yours." Embry's voice had raised slightly, but not enough to provoke a fight.

She paused looking at him, she couldn't have loved him anymore at this given moment. He cared about her more than she cared about herself, and that was enough for her.

Sam came into view his chest rising and falling rapidly. "Take Gracie to Emily's place! Jacob's with Bella and I've got to head over to the Clearwater's house."

"Harry Clearwater had a heart attack..." Embry began, his voice so soft it seemed to pain her. "He didn't make it."

Gracie squeezed his hand, then looked to him. "How do you know?"

"When we're in our wolf form, we can read each other's thoughts. I heard Sam, loud and clear. Let's go." Embry lastly said, swinging his arm over her shoulders and redirecting Gracie out of the forest.

The walk was silent, his grasp never letting go. To her, it felt that everything was going to be okay.
