I closed my locker.
Ashley was up to me. "Listen here tramp. I don't know what you did to my boyfriend but you better leave him alone."
I look at her. "Last time I check your boyfriend came to me."
"I hope you know he doesn't want you. After he gets what he wants he going to move back to me. So enjoy him while you can." she smiled and walk off.
I stop. John came up to me.
"Whats wrong?"
"Ashley, it's nothing. Words don't hurt." I walk off. He just look at me.
For lunch I sat down by my self as usual.
A girl came over and sat down.
"Your daughter is beautiful." she spoke.
"Excuse me?" I ask confuse.
"Sorry. I saw your daughter yesterday and she was too cute. "
I took a bite from my fry. "Thanks."
She smiled. "So, you and Josh."
I look at her. "Who are you? Why are you up in my personal life?!"
I got up.
"Im sorry, my name is Leah. Josh is my brother."
I stop and look at her.
"What did Josh tell you?"
"He told me that he is in love with you."
"Josh isn't in love with me. He HATES me. He even beat me."
"Josh doesn't put his hands on girls."
"Of course not to you, you're his sister." I slouch down.
"Well, anyways. I was wondering-"
"I have to go." I got up and walk past her.
John came up to me. "Why was you talking to Leah?"
"She talk to me, her brother is Josh."
John frown. "Just stay away from her."
I nod. I kept walking.
I went into the restroom and enter into the stall.
I cried.
"Hello?" A girl spoke.
I spoke no word. Trying to stop crying.
I heard foot steps coming my way.
Then the door flung open.
"Are you okay?" A girl with dirty blond hair wearing all black-black shirt black jacket black jeans black boots-
"Yes." I stood up.
"Don't tell me Ashley made you cry?" she look at me dumb founded.
"No- how do you know Ashley would try to make me cry?"
"Everyone knows. She's jealous of you. You stole her boyfriend. You're smarter than her and most of all prettier. It's like her worst fears came all together into a nightmare." She laugh
"How do you know all this stuff?"
"Ashley and I use to be close friends but then she dated John she started to get more into the 'crowd' and she drop me. Saying I wasn't too good enough." She look down.
"Really? I must say you are really pretty."
"I know, but everyone is so scared of me."
" 'Cuz youre wearing all black and it looks like you can hurt someone with you're pinky."
We started to laugh.
I wipe my eyes.
"Okay, maybe we can be friends."
"What's your name?"
"Miley."
"I'm -"
"Alice, I know." She smiled
I walk out with her.
"So I heard you have a child?" She ask.
I look at her,"Yeah." I look down.
"It's okay, not everything will be as you plan." She smiled
I began to walk toward my car.
Eric came rushing out trying to get to me.
"Alice!!" He shouts. I turn around.
"Eric what's the matter?"
"It's Jess." He stop trying to catch his breath.
"What about her?"
Ashley came to us. I rolled my eyes. Why is that mut following him- oh forgot thats her boyfriend.
"Babe, let's go." She tug on his arm
"No- I got to tell Alice something."
"Fine I'll meet you at your place."
My eyes widen. But I live at his place.
"Babe, no go to yours and I'll go to your place, okay?"
"Okay, maybe I can cook you dinner. " She rub his shoulder. Then glare at me. I rolled my eyes. Ever heard to keep dogs out the kitchen.
"I will love that, cook me some tacos." He gave her a peck on her lip. She smiled at me. Then rolled her eyes. I watch her walk away.
"What's the matter?"
"Leah and I was in class."
"Okay, good for you?" I was half way in the car.
"Then the police came in. They hand cuff her and took her to jail."
"Why what happen?"
"Josh and Leah killed Jess. They beat Jess sister and lock her in a closet but luckily she had her phone in her pocket."
My face drain. Pale. Lifeless. Blank. I just stared into John's eyes.
"Why did- did they do that?"
"Josh wanted Jess back but when they got there Jess didn't want to leave and they got into a fight. Leah tied up Jess and Josh stared to stab her. It was horrible."
"I see you when you get home." I shut my car door.
"Alice, don't you care?"
I drove away.
My eyes tearing up.
Later___
I was sitting on the couch eating fruits. John came in.
"What's up." He sat beside me.
Emily sat in his lap. "Nothing- just watching the news."
"Did they tell about Jess?"
"Yes, I'm going to bathe Emily." I got up.
"Do I have to take a bath?" She smell herself. "I already took one last night and I don't stink." She shook her head.
I lifted her into my arms. Walk into the bathroom and she got into the tub.
---John's POV
Alice seem unease. I haven't seen her cry about Jess. But I knew it was hurting her.
My phone lit up. It's Ashley:
Babe, I got to go to your place real quick. I'm bored. :) see you there.

I jump up. Ran into the bathroom.
"Emily and Alice come on." Alice look at me in confusion. She dried Emily off.
They all went into Emily's room.
"Stay in here."
"Why?"
"I said so."
"I'm not your dog John, just tell me why."
"Ashley is coming over. "
She sat down. And shrug.
I shut the door. Ashley was knocking at the door.
"Ashley!" I open the door. She gave me a kiss and a hug.
She sat on the couch. "So what are you-" I was interrupted.
Emily was in the middle of the room.
"Who is she?"
"My cousin."
Ashley smiled. "She's too cute."
Emily rolled her eyes,"I know." she snap.
Ashley look away. "I'll be right back." I said heading Down the hall.
Then I heard crying. I walk back down to the living room.
"What's going on?" Emily was on the ground screaming with her arms cross. Her face burning red.
"She hit me!!" She yelled.
Ashley look at me. "No, no I didn't."
"Ashley, I think it's time for you to go."
"But I didn't hit her!" She walk to the door.
"No child pretend cries like that." I push her out the door.
The screaming stop. I look at Emily.
She was smiling. "You're welcome." She smiled and skip to her room.
Alice came out.
"Alice, I thought I told you to stay in the room with Emily?"
"Oops." she said sarcastically.
___Night
She was snuggle up under the covers.
I run my fingers through her hair.
"Alice, why haven't you said anything about Jess?"
"What you mean?"
"Josh killed her and all you have to say was .. Was nothing."
She got up.
"Alice, stop running away from your emotions. How you feel? Tell me."
"I feel stupid." she sat on the bed.
"Why?"
"She told me he was going to kill her is she left. I told her don't worry. He won't." She started to cry.
"He killed her. It's all my fault."
I went up to her and hug her.
"It's okay, Alice it's not your fault. The only way it can be your fault if you killed her."
She kept sobbing. I kissed her.
She look at me. She lean in and kissed me back.
She lay down and I got on top of her.
Kissing her neck. She let out a moan. I started to kiss her.
"Yuck!" I turn and saw Emily standing there.
We started to laugh.
"Emily, why are you in here?" Alice ask.
"I'm scared."
"Of what?"
"What if daddy comes back and kills you?"
Alice face turn pale. "John, she's right."
I jump up. "No, stop. He's lock up in jail. No way out. Leah is in jail too. Emily come and get in the bed. I don't won't to hear another word about Josh." I demand.
I turn off the lights. We all smush together.
"Good night, Mommy." Emily spoke.
"Good Night." Alice answer.
"Good night,John."
"Good night Emily."
"Good night moon."
"Good night Dad."
"Good night Leah."
Alice and I look at Emily.
"Good night stars."
"Good night world."
"Emily! Go to sleep or you will be sleeping in your bed." Alice yelled
"Good night Jess." She whispered.
